  1. The key thing is "per play", the Lions whole game plan is predicated on limiting the amount of plays and possessions opponents get which is why Im not too concerned when I see stats like that.
  2. A Cousins reunion in Washington does make some sense, that would allow Washington to go BPA at 2 or potentially trade it for a big haul. To me it depends on how you feel about Maye, if you feel he is no different than your regular number 2 to 3 QB in the draft that you come out every year than Id probably have no 2nd thoughts on passing on him. Otoh if you feel he is a truly special qb that don't come around every year then Id be hard pressed to pass on him.
  3. The good thing about Washington if you are a potential coach is that they have the 2nd pick in the draft this year so you won't come in saddled with somebody elses QB if you don't like them. You can start from scratch and get any non Caleb QB you want and groom him from the very beginning. To me that would be very attractive, especially if I was an offensive minded guy like Ben Johnson.
  4. I wouldn't say Im not worried about Bosa but I'm always more concerned with pressure from the inside vs. the edges. For one I trust our tackles and for another Goff does a pretty good job of stepping up in the pocket to avoid the pressure from the edge. When it comes from the interior he doesnt have that option.
  5. Yeah I see the situation much like LaPortas in the first round, if the guy can walk he's going to suit up to be at the very least a possible decoy or something extra for the defense to think about.
  6. Btw the question was brought up in Campbell's presser and he did admit that even though they knew they weren't going to use that timeout they still should've handled it better and bled more time off the clock just in case. I think the just in case is not just incase the coach decides to pull a fast one but what if for some odd reason a player gets hurt on the other team? Highly Unlikely but maybe he cramps up or accidentally steps on a foot or something. Whatever the case since TB still had a timeout they'd be force to use it as an injury timeout and stop the clock.
  7. Whoa JBK back from the dead, now we need to see if the Lions can resurrect Shelton and Biggs.
  8. Nothing of note really but was just thinking that unless KC wins and we lose the Lions are guaranteed to be picking in the 30s. So wild to me to see our own pick being there.
  9. I liken the timeout thing to the end of the game in basketball when teams are fouling. Once a team stops fouling at the end it is accepted that they are conceding the game, same thing with not using timeouts. You don't see basketball teams call off the dogs only to then decide to change their minds and foul when the team gives it to a poor free throw shooter.
  10. They have looked alot better the past few weeks despite the losses. In November and December they were losing to teams like this by 25+ but lately they have atleast made a game of things most nights. Baby steps I guess.
  11. I mentioned before but from what I could gather on social media it's basically an unwritten rule or code among coaches that once they don't use the timeout on first down they are just conceding the game to your opponent and letting the coach know that they don't have to waste the entire play clock and delay the inevitable. Just snap it 3 times and get the game over with. That's why the Lions didn't bother wasting the entire play clock on the next 2 snaps, they just snapped it and got the game over with. Now Bowles could've been shady and went against "code" but I don't think that's something you want to do, coaches will remember that and doing something like that certainly won't sit well with them going forward.
  12. I know pipeline isn't everybody's cup of tea but they just put out their top 10 2b prospects and Jung is number 2. Also has the best power tool among 2b prospects according to them.
  13. Funny when I was watching the Eagles last week I was thinking about the whereabouts of Ertz when I saw a couple different TEs for the Eagles. Was about to Google whether he was in the league or not but then I got sidetracked. Anyway a week later and here he is playing for the Lions.
  14. To me wind is the biggest difference, that and playing on natural grass vs. field turf. I love Goff but even as a staunch supporter I will admit that he doesn't throw the tightest spiral, that comes into play more in windy conditions.
  15. Btw the dude that said this also said the Stafford trade could go down as one of the best NFL trades of all time when you factor in Goff's play, the money you saved with him and what the draft picks are doing. I think its a fair question especially if Iffy's recent play is legit and carries over. We basically got equal to better QB play at a cheaper cost, a plus defensive starter and 3 offensive weapons with 2 of them already looking like they potentially could be tops at their position in due time.
  16. Watched a video on YT earlier with Cowherd and somebody else and for the most part they were extremely complimentary about the Lions, especially Holmes, Campbell and Goff but the guy made a quote that I had to shake my head at. It was something to the effect of "They are a corner away from being a Super Bowl contender". I get that corner is our biggest weakness but when you are a 12 win team playing in the conference championship doesnt that mean you already are a SB contender?
  17. Bayless is much like me in the sense that anything that we predict will happen chances are the complete opposite will.
  18. Speaking of which, just saw this post on my twitter feed and cracked up. One of the best custom jerseys I have ever seen. Right up there with the Lions "Been Bad since" nameplate on a number 57 jersey.
  19. Happy for Barnes, it's hard for me to believe that this is only his 3rd year and he was a Holmes draft pick. For some reason in my head it feels like he has been here a lot longer than that.
  20. Despite having a million dollar arm and making highlight reel throws and plays he also seems to miss too many throws that QBs have to make. In this game that 2nd down throw to the end zone. The guy was wide open and he just missed it, Romo tried blaming it on being hit but the replay shows that he got the ball off cleanly but he just missed him. That's a throw I feel confident that Goff would've completed or at the very least gave his receiver a chance to catch.
  21. I so wanted the Bills to win, I'm tired of the Chiefs. Between this being their 6th straight conference championship appearance, all the Taylor Swift stuff and seeing Mahomes/Reid on State Farm commercials almost literally every single NFL commercial break I'm just ready for them to go away.
  22. Would a Lions SB run move them off the bottom spot in the worst franchise in sports history list where most people have them at now?
  23. They had that brutal 1st half against the Ravens this year and a rough game against the Chargers but other than that they've been fine in regards to the points given up category and ultimately that's all that matters.
