  1. That looks like Killian Hayes handwriting to me!
  2. Disappointed they didn't start singing till the end but pretty cool on the Airlines part.
  3. Didn't see the play but I notice that alot with this team, there are just so many things they do wrong fundamentally, it's like even if they did have talent they'd still be a bad team just cause of how many mistakes they make or things that they do right. I want to blame it on the coaching and certainly that has to play a part but these are NBA players that have played at high levels of basketball their whole lives, some of the things they do wrong you should have picked up and learned years ago. I guess you could argue that maybe if the coaches instilled it in them they'd do it more but idk.
  4. Me too! Just imagine how it's going to be if we win, gonna have to wait 2 whole weeks. Gonna be the longest 2 weeks ever!
  5. You really don't have to neglect a bunch of positions unless you are a terrible drafting team that depends solely on free agency to build a team. Aside from the 49ers and to some extent us at the moment every top team has an expensive QB yet they have no problem fielding quality players all over the field.
  6. Yeah perhaps on a WR or any number of positions. The Lions are paying Romeo Okwara, Charles Harris, Tracey Walker, Vaitai and Mosely a combined 25 million. That's what I mean by cutting corners, you may not beable to sign a bunch of veterans but so be it, draft well and fill those spots with young cheaper players.
  7. He's only 29 years old. And even if the worst case scenario happens and he completely flames out and turns into a pumpkin well then you eat the cost and draft a QB on a rookie contract and he turns into an expensive backup. It's not a total franchise killer and again we're talking about the worst case scenario.
  8. It amazes how anybody would even contemplate letting Goff go, who cares about the money if you got to cut corners else where so be it once you find a plus QB you don't let that guy go. Is Goff perfect? No, but very few QBs are and almost all need help around them to succeed.
  9. The guy most of us feel would be Ben Johnson's successor, gotta wonder if he takes an OC job elsewhere if he thinks/knows that Johnson is staying another year?
  10. Ichiro is a HOF but I feel his actual impact on the field is a bit overrated. Yes he had 3K hits but 2500 of them were singles including nearly 600 infield hits which aren't nearly as valuable since they can only advance a runner 1 base. Also he had a subpar walk rate and yeah he could steal bases but a few of those high stealing years he got caught stealing at an above average rate which totally negates it. Like I said though still a great player and a HOF but if you are just factoring in his MLB career I don't think he should be classed as this slam dunk no brainer choice like I think he is perceived as. Ive seen lesser players struggle to get in and take several years to do so.
  11. Also it hasnt been from anybody reliable so only taking it with a tiny grain of salt but I have seen rumblings on social media about the possibility of Reid retiring if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl.
  12. Considering they haven't made an announcement yet and they both been linked to them I'm pretty certain one of Johnson or Glenn is getting the Washington job(probably Johnson) unless something major changes. Vrabel seems like a fit in Seattle but I really haven't been keeping that close of eye on it.
  13. Yeah ever since I got Youtube TV mines the same way, it's not so much a problem now since we're the only game in town and I don't have to do this but earlier in the season there were many times where I'd be going to ESPN or NFL.com to check other scores in between plays and see a spoiler for the Lions game.
  14. Just Washington and Seattle now, Atlanta is said to be hiring Raheem Morris.
  15. I will be quite disappointed to be honest. Happy with the season of course but to get trucked like that Baltimore game or Philly in the playoffs back in the mid 90s would put a bit of a damper on things for me. Mainly cause I feel like all the good we did this year will just get cast aside by many folks and all we will hear about is that loss and how we aren't close to the big boys.
  16. I know another knock on Goff is that he struggles outdoors, I think there may be something to that if its rainy and windy but even if that is the case how often do you actually play in those types of games in any given season? Maybe once or twice at the most. For example next year the Lions play 15 of their 17 games indoors with only GB and Chicago being outdoors. Maybe we get unlucky and one or both of those games have crappy weather well that doesn't offset the 15 games indoors that he will likely play good to great. And yeah you may not get lucky having 15 of 17 indoors every year but more and more teams are playing indoors, rumor has it Tennessee will be indoors by 2026 and possibly Chicago as well. It's to the point where you're almost exclusively playing indoors or in places with nice weather with the exception of a handful of places.
  17. At last look the estimates are 22% of tickets are Lions fans, not sure how accurate that is but if it indeed is accurate that should be a huge boost for the Lions. Maybe not so much for them being there cheering them on but in the sense that would be 22% less people making a ton of noise and trying to disrupt them while the Lions are on offense.
  18. When do the Lions fly out? Just curious cause I was wondering about their practicce situation and if they are or will atleast be able to get 1 practice outdoors since they've haven't played outside since Chicago like 6 or 7 weeks ago.
  19. This is what I've been saying all year when it comes to the Glenn criticism. Does the Lions defense and his calls frustrate me at times? Yes, do I wish it would be better? Of course but looks at how little resources the Lions have put into the defense compared to the offense. The O Line has 3 1st round picks, a 1st round running back, 1st round QB(not drafted by the Lions but still a 1st round qb), 1st round WR, and a high 2nd round TE. The defense has a 1st round pick in Hutchinson, 1st round pick in Campbell(a position that can take time to develop) and that's it for 1st rounders. Their number 1 CB was a number 3 before getting here. Their starting number 2 CB was found off the scrap heap. Their other starting edge right now consists of a revolving door of has beens as is 1 of their interior line positions. If you look around the league I would venture to guess that not many have used less resources on the defense or less high picks on them than the Lions and a couple of those higher picks like Levi and Paschal have basically been injured their whole career.
  20. For the record I for one think Glenn would make a great Head Coach, he'd of course need some creative coordinators to go with him but in this day and age you can find those, finding a guy that can lead your team and get players to run through a wall for you is alot harder to find.
  21. I saw on one of the talking head shows earlier this week that with the Lions and Campbell's success that Campbell is now the hot coaching mold that everybody is looking to try to get. Not just Campbell but Demeco Ryan's success as well this year in Houston is having teams think twice about just hiring the next hot shot coordinator but instead looking deeper into the person and their motivational abilities. Also they may be going back to puttiing more emphasis on them being former players as well. If that is indeed the case Aaron Glenn may actually be the guy that gets a job over Ben Johnson.
  22. My guess is Vrabel in Seattle, Belichik in ATL and Johnson in Washington.
  23. Monty for Coach of the Month??
