Yeah definitely right call kicking the FG there. I don't mind going for it in those situations when it's not before the half cause even if you don't get it you make the opposing team have to go 98 yards but considering it's the end of the half that would be a moot issue.
Don't like that 1st down call, the running game is working just stick with it, not to mention you want to milk this drive until the end of the half so wouldn't have been the best time to go over the top anyway.
I know the story is the Lions lack of success in the playoffs and the 49ers great history of it but do we have to see a graphic about it every commercial break?
Not a good defensive series and it started on the 1st play, Lions had the Deebo Samuel run lined up for no gain but Sutton takes a terrible angle and it leads to a 2nd and short which then led to the big play to the FB. If Sutton makes the play and it's 2nd and 10 the drive may have been completely different. Just the little things like that can make a difference.
My earlier post about Ichiro may have been a little harsh and for the record I did say that I'd vote for him as a HOF but I just feel like he shouldn't be treated as this slam dunk automatic 1st ballot choice like people think...IF you go by his stats. If you go his overall global impact and star power than certainly he is.
But if we're talking numbers wise I look at somebody like say Craig Biggio. Different positions and to some extent different players offensively but it took him a few years to get in and statistically I feel he was a superior player. May not have had as high of average but got on base at a superior clip, hit for more power and played a more valuable position.
