  1. https://www.mlb.com/news/eduardo-rodriguez-drawing-interest-at-2023-mlb-trade-deadline?partnerID=mlbapp-iOS_article-share The Tigers left-hander has been drawing plenty of scouts to his recent starts, with the Rangers, Rays, Reds, Phillies and D-backs among the clubs keeping a close eye on the 30-year-old. Those scouts on hand to watch Rodriguez's past two starts have also stuck around to watch Michael Lorenzen, Detroit's lone All-Star representative this season. Lorenzen will be a free agent at the end of the year, making him an attractive rental candidate who can start during the regular season and potentially move to the bullpen for the postseason. The Tigers are also said to be considering trades of at least one of their relievers, with 27-year-old right-hander Jason Foley drawing significant interest.
  2. 3 Ks; probably his last appearance is off to a good start
  3. i see the Astros and Rangers were getting chippy last night. I don't think either team needs to respond to LAA moves, but both Tex and Hou have some obvious pitching holes, so hopefully that helps Harris
  4. thanks i couldn't understand the hype either
  5. I would like to see Trout and Ohtani in the playoffs - think it would be great for baseball
  6. Thank you Angels! that should help not only set a high prospect price but also takes a SP out of the already shallow pool of available guys
  7. I don’t know how that helps Cleveland at all
  8. Metzler would know who to target; to me, Rays don't match up well with needs, but Harris still in just talent hording mode
  9. I would hope ERod would get more than that - Os sure do have a bonkers amount of IF talent
  10. looks like Trei was pissed Wenceel got promoted to Toledo
  11. pool: 15,747,200 105% of pool: 16,534,560 bonuses charged against pool: 16,477,450 (1.0464%) ($57,110 remaining) total spend: 17,677,450 - this exceeds both pool and 105% of pool, because you get 150K for players selected in rounds 11-20 that does not count against pool and I will note that the Tigers actually spent $25,000 more than Callis counts, because 10 of their first 11 picks also got a $2,500 contingency bonus, which does not count against pool either
  12. yep. lots of things to criticize Chris for, but they routinely spend over 100% of pool the past few years; 1.0464% this year
  13. just need ERod to pitch 7 SO innings, without getting hit in the face, hand or nuts
  14. market forces have not always blown in the Tigers direction; good to see things are falling in place this year
  15. I don't see how downgrading the defense at SS from Baez to Short/McKinstry helps keep a horrible defender like India on the field at 2b.
  16. Rogers (20th round) got standard 150K I've seen nothing on last guy either way - Stewart (17th round HS LHP), but I assume no deal just like 18th rounder; has until 5pm tonight to sign; no big deal either way
  17. yikes! he's even worse than I thought. dead last at 2b since he has been in the majors
  18. but isn't it better to have holes in the rotation, if there are multiple FA options available this winter? and players could be looking for a Lorenzen-type rebound? the position players - again - this winter are very scarce, and - again - Comerica is not going to be seen as a preferred destination for many hitters.
  19. he's bad defensively
  20. Manning for Nolan Gorman. Maybe that's a Winter trade, but could work. 4 years of Manning for 5 years of Gorman. Put him back at 3B if you think Keith can make it at 2B.
  21. One week to go. ERod and Lorenzen will (must) be moved. Would be very surprised if they are the only ones. 90% of the organization are Avila's guys. Buyers outnumber sellers this year. Scott "Calculated Risk" Harris can go a little crazy.
  22. if that is what Johnson brought back, then Cisnero should be moved for sure
  23. SF has been on the road since the ASB; Detroit is 4th city, 11th game; won first 5; lost next 5; got swept by Nats; hopefully they are looking to get this over quickly playing in the rain
  24. Rangers BP is so bad they would keep Mason in majors if Tigers returned him to Texas. The FB just isn’t there so unless they find an “injury” I think no loss in losing him
