That thinking doesn't make a whole ton of sense.
Ok so they didn't think it was all that great so they moved back in this draft and got another pick in this draft when they didn't need more picks?
Night is young the move makes a ton of sense if he's thinking third first rounder.
You're the cowboys, let's say, you really gonna give up pick 25 for 48 and 54. Pretty bug drop. Now 34 and 54, seems fair more likely
I'm going to guess 34 and a 2nd is gonna be packed for like 28.
Nobody is gonna wanna move down 22 spots in the back end of the first round when your near championship. 5 picks and pick up a 2 for it makes a lot more sense.
This year too, they are supposed to be reducing the number of "his mom died at 14 and now he's a draftee" or "his sister has battled a drug addiction for years" stories.
I fully get the theory
But in reality little of that bears true. That's the difference. The team that trades up almost always ends up with the best player(s)
Me too. I was more just jumping at the point that Randy would take those deals for an extra 2 in a heartbeat. Most 2s never amount to anything. So is moving down a few spots just for the chance to buck that trend worth it? I rarely agree. Just take the guy five spots higher on your board.
(not to mention we already have something like what 9 picks. Are we really gonna run into camp with a quarter of a roster being rookies? So picking up a 2 unless its to package with the other twos really worth it?)
