  1. And it’s not an ego thing, like I won’t get paid, but seeing those non HR as probable outs. So he has to adjust. Then adjust on the road. I think over a season that wears on a player. A guy coming in for the weekend will just play his game since it’s only 3 games. But a 7 game homestand means you need to try something.
  2. Nothing to see here… just a call for assassination and justifying rape. But hey… leave “the kid” alone. Only a demented person would defend this.
  3. and I think that's a fair thing for him to say. I just wonder to what extreme they really have to adjust between home and road. Does it mentally screw with you when you get all of it just to see it land in a glove in no man's land... in your home park mind you. I mentioned JD because he's knwon to be meticilous and thoughtful in his approach. I don't want cliche answers but the kinds of things they say to each other when the media isn't around. Of course the Tiger players will say they love it the way it is right now when it's their own organization. What would Riley Greene say in 5 years if he's playing in Arizona?
  4. that ruins the joke. That account is very well known. I subscribe to the Monty Python and Norm McDonald theory of humor. Don't explain it.
  5. I would like honest player feedback, especially from someone like JD Martinez who played here then left, about whether the park size impacts them on the road vs at home. I believe it messes with their heads but I never claim to be an expert on such things so it's just me talking here.
  6. This is.... weird and offensive and those two men should be fired and put on a sex offender registry. If I were her father I might end up in jail. What the did was rape.
  7. I would say this is un ****ing believable but it really is believable.
  8. Do you know how many palestinian supporters are out there claiming Hamas are not terrorists? That Oct 7 was fake or an inside job? Any innocent Palestinians who are dying are dying because of Hamas.
  9. Hamas cares even less about Palestinians dying than Israel does. To them they are martyrs and the more that die the better their cause.
  10. But it wasn't as easy or pervasive. You didn't have people with common back injuries suddenly develop crippling addictions that often ended their lives. The opioid crisis didn't act to serve a need that was already there, it created a problem that didn't exist. Pain management became a market for drug addiction to flourish and all the perils that came with it, not the other way around. Many many lives were ruined that didn't have to happen because of that crisis. The victims weren't already out there looking for scores.
  11. Did he know that we have 3 casinos within walking distance of Comerica Park?
  12. I’m just going by what he wrote in his book. He strongly implied that Dykstra and Zimmer were in similar circumstances baseball has put itself in a position not unlike having a bunch of sober alcoholics working in a strip club and just hoping for the best that everybody will be good.
  13. That’s how I feel. My opposition to him is more about how he’s acted in response to it over the decades. Fay Vincent said if he had been upfront with them at the time the punishment wouldn’t have been as bad. I’ve always felt he was more afraid of what else they would find.
  14. You have to look at someone's job to understand the reason they would have documents. The higher level you go then the more likely you routinely use classified information. Therefore the more likely it is you would mistakenly take them home or whatever. A low level person who accesses a file system and takes home documents they have no business having and gets caught with will receive stricter punishment.
  15. I'm glad they didn't sign JD. I like him but this team needs the flexibility of a rotating DH. They need to find out about the guys we have now to see if they are the future.
  16. The RNC doesn't govern. They are not part of the government. They are a function of a political party. The only connection is that they can use elections to elect delegates. But then again.... do they get federal funding? If you select that $3 box on your taxes does that go to the DNC and RNC? If so then I think the government does have a say here in how money is spent.
  17. He wasn't Randy Smith bad. I'd give him a solid C. He probably would have been a good GM 40-50 years ago. That's not a criticism, it just means we're getting old and 40-50 years ago was the 70's and 80s, not the 1940's like it should be. He couldn't clean house up on arrival. He just stepped into a new role with an org he'd been a part of for a long time so all the people here also sort of worked for him already since he was the Asst. GM. Where I would knock him is the FA spending.
  18. Henning called Harris "the kid"? Yes, Avila does get some credit and should. But he also had numerous 1:1 picks and other top 5 slots. And I'm not convinced some guys develop the way they had under a system still run by Avila.
  19. Is Sally Struthers still alive?
  20. If you looked thoroughly at every VP and POTUS after leaving office you’d probably find classified docs. Scraps of papers can be classified. They over classify. It’s what you do with them and when notified that matters. It’s not complicated to figure out.
  21. What an embarrassment
  22. Can’t wait for a MSM story or column about how Biden talking like that is beneath the decorum of the Office while his opponent does his typical thing.
