I don't either but this is a civil suit, not a criminal one. Are you willing to fork over some $$ to Dominion to cover any of their damages for doing the honorable thing and risk getting paid in a timely manner, if at all? Even with a conviction nothing really would change. It would be an confirmation of what everybody knows but they will just go about doing what they are now. A civil conviction has no mechanism to make them change their ways other than threats of future lawsuits by somebody. The law can't do anything. What they did isn't technically a crime.

People bitching about weather forecasts bugs me. Forecaster: "We'll see some rain tomorrow afternoon" Viewer who lives in an area where it didn't rain but it rained 7 miles away "IT DIDN'T RAIN. THESE PEOPLE ARE MORONS. THEY KNOW NOTHING" Yesterday's weather was crazy. There was rain and storms all around the area. yes, it wasn't that bad around Comerica Park. It was nearby. Forgive them for not knowing precisely to the city block where it was going to be clear and for how long.

To be fair to Dominion they are a business with owners and employees to look after. If their business suffered in terms of dollars and cents and they have a chance to recoup that then they have a right to do that, maybe even a duty. A financial payout and liability against Fox is not a guarantee, especially with this supreme court. I want to grill Fox as much as anyone but it's not my dollar at stake. It's theirs.

I do too. As I think about it by offering up an obscene amount you also play into Dominions hands more because if they reject then you lose the “they are only suing for money” card with the jury. If that were true then they’d settle obviously. But then again does Dominion have a responsibility for any of their shareholders to recoup any financial losses they claim to have incurred? Dominion by going to trial is performing a public service.

And the trial start is moved to Tuesday. Maybe Fox offers up 2 billion in exchange for confidentiality. It’s not the money that scares Murdoch.

Given the nature of today, that they waited so long and the forecast didn’t change and what was predicted to happen did happen, I’m of the belief that they were both hoping that the weather would improve and they could play. When that didn’t play out then they called it. TThe tigers were the ones in position of not caring since they aren’t going anywhere tomorrow. There’s collaboration as much as reasonably possible since the home team could be the visiting team next time.

I don’t know the current rules either but I have a hard time believing this wasn’t a mutual-ish decision. I think most of these are. On paper I guess one side has to have final authority but outside or bitter rivalries I think they come to a decision together.

It may not have rained in that area but the weather was stormy around the region in a fast moving unpredictable way. This was middle of summer Florida weather. I don’t blame them at all for not starting. It’s not the rain it’s the lightning that is an issue. There’s precise rules about distance and time of strikes.

They should allow expanded rosters for make up games. That way teams might be willing to use a mutual off day later in the season. I believe there’s much more collaboration between teams and the league now on if and when to start. If both teams are fine with waiting it out and playing in 50 degree weather with high winds at night so be it. I bet that if SF said “look we’d rather get going for tomorrow” I think the tigers and league are fine with it. The effects on the team in terms of wear and tear are the same now as it would be later on the season at this point.

I think the chance of storms is key. They can play in rain. But lightning is a no go and if conditions favor that then they wait. From a friend down there it opened up and they told everyone to take cover…. Meaning get in the concourse.

They are not playing today. Already a delay. It will be 50 degrees by 6 pm. But I guess they need to get some concessions in first. But since it’s the giants I guess they will try.

He’s the Applebees while on a road trip president. Nobody’s first choice. A little stale in decor. You get a peak mid 90s vibe. But if the other choices are a cockroach infested diner or a place where the meat is gray and you aren’t sure you won’t end up with food poisoning… it will do. The beer is cold. The chicken tenders are fine. The French onion soup is comforting especially when they used too much cheese and it overflows along the mug and you get to peel it off and eat as a hunk. None of this will be the best food you ever had. It it’s familiar and will get you thru until you find a 4 star modern establishment at the next stop.

I can’t believe it’s been 16 years.

All of my bitching about the clock making the games too quick came back to bite me. We get a 3 hour game they 9 and we left because we are running a race tomorrow morning so numb nuts missed the 11th!
