I'm hoping the off day for the Tigers on Thursday, while home, will help them in some way. They've had a screwy schedule so far with rainouts and double headers... if they hit well this weekend I will say that's why. If they don't then forget what I said.

In 1987 I was playing baseball. 8th grade. The field we used was in a neighborhood, not on school grounds. I was up to bat and a car went by blaring that with the windows down. I hit a triple and the car was going by right as I slid into 3B. I never forgot that and think about it every time I hear the song.

a lot of local radio guys on Twitter were talking about this yesterday in such a way that the lack of a NC during the consolidation period would have been game changers. When one station did their mass firings those guys couldn't work elsewhere even though another station might have wanted them. It's a back scratching exercise. I see it as a form of the collusion we saw in MLB in hte 80's. Keep the talent pool off the market.

He's on the facebook and mostly posts about going to Tiger games. Nothint really political anymore unless he has another account. I see him at games and other Tiger events here and there. He comes to visit sometimes. I think people who say privilege often say it that way to imply you should take it seriously and do your research, that many people didn't have the right and the privilege/fortune we have to live in a county where it is indeed a right.

You can't realisitically project if anyone is going to even reach 3000 hits again. Anybody who would reach it is just a guess right now based on the active leaders. Freddie Freeman is the active leader at 2100+ and he's 34.

I look for pundits to clear out the weeds for me and do the dirty work and give me the straight dope as best they can. It's ok to just come out and say "This is what I think will happen based on....." and if you are wrong, so be it. we can all see it. But don't try to hedge your bets and look for cover. Be a man. Own it.

I think if you are searching enough for a data point to confirm a theory then you can find it in a primary election like this with so many unusual variables. Two incumbents from the last election, a third party, a passionate issue like abortion, a clear divide on one side with a since departed candidate, early voting.... You can find what you need but I'm not convinced that's reliable. The theory is sound but I don't think these things necessarily show it. That's my best Nate Silver impersonation.

Aaron Boone got ejected yesterday by Hunter Wendlestedt, after being given a warning, because he heard a fan behind the dugout, say something immediately after. On the video you can clearly see and hear it. Afterwards, in a manner totally in line with the NFL and their officials, Wendlestedt said some nonsense about Boone's responsible for what comes out of his dugout. Because it's too much to ask for an official to just admit they ****ed up.

Good friends of ours have a son attending Carnegie Mellon and they go to Pittsburgh a few times a semester, they're trying to get us to go. We might go this summer when their son is home b/c they are payig for his place all year. They go on and on how cool it is there.

we are going on a cousins trip in early August to Jeckyl Isand, GA.... there's a good reason for it I won't get into, but I'm fearing that one of them has "things lined up" for us. It's just a weekend and I guess I will have to play along. I just don't like being told what to do when I have spent about $2K for hotels, a car, and flights. Someone's like "We'll go golfing...". Again, another thing I don't care to do on vacation. I'm not spending 4 hours walking on a course and drinking so that I can come back to the hotel and crash. I can golf here. A golf course here and a golf course there are the same in my opinion. I'd rather lay or sit on the beach and see the Atlantic Ocean because we don't have that in MI. Or walk around the Island and explore some history.

My son went thru that last month and that's what he did. I told him to cancel but I guess he's smarter than I am 🙂 He had a photo of his driver's license saved on his phone, both sides, in case he needed it for a cop. The MI secretary of State lets you replace a lost/stolen ID online, they just mail you a new one. THen you can print out a temp copy. I have a few CC's but I only care one of them for that very reason. If I lose my wallet I just have to replace 3 things, my license, CC, and Blue Cross Card. My wife says it's easy being a man because I don't have to carry all the other stuff around but I just reply "If I need one of those other things, I make sure to go into that drawer with my bigger wallet and take it with me. How often am I going to use my Henry Ford membership card, or my Best Buy CC that I used for no interest financing, or whtaever...." I think she's just mad that I have the foresight to think about it before leaving. Men and Women's brains are different.

They were my least favorite of that scene... kind of like I was into hair metal bands but Bon Jovi tried to be but were fake about it. Had to keep up appearances and maintain some broad appeal.

yeah we looked into it in 2021 but the weather wasn't optimal.... I know, it's Florida in the summer, it can rain anytime but the week we were there it was like that all day. I really love the gulf area. I'm a "play it by ear" person on vacation, I hate agendas. We might find outselves at 2 pm deciding to go and we'll see what's available.
