as soon as they are no longer affiliated with the university they will no longer be relevant.  no one will care.  its the ties to the university that drive the love.

no one cares about the usfl.

which is why theyre really walking a fine line right now.

Well, they’ve got a new AD, so any ties that bound before aren’t necessarily there.  In other words, Day better beat Michigan next season, Chris Holtman better start winning some basketball games this season.

Too late for Holtmann.

I can't remember when I last played one of them but it has to be 20 years now.  I should really get back into gaming as it would surely a better way to spend my free time instead of sitting around watching the news and surfing the internet.

This is always the right answer for your mental health.  However, being an alert citizen is also extremely necessary.

As far as the game.  I tend to get annoyed by the "miracle" that Notre Dame always gets every game they play against Michigan.  There is always some insane fluke thing that happens.   Even in 2013 that wasn't the case.  We were killing them on the regular even in that Richrod/Hokish era.

Rumor is the B10 and SEC are looking for multiple automatic bids to the playoffs.  Expansion from 12 playoff teams to 14 could occur in 2026.

just break away and form your own league already.  take notre dame and florida state and north carolina and virginia with you.

I think Grouch understood the problem perfectly

deion sanders continues to be a bad, small, petty person.

why anyone would send their kid to colorado is beyond me.  theyre not even good at football.

I have a buddy who is a CU alum and I don't think a lot of them care how crazy he is. He's made them relevant again for the first time in 30 years.

relevant for what reason?  theyre a clown show that got housed the minute they stepped up in competition.

it will be the same thing next year.  shedeur can probably win them some games with his ability, but not against good teams.  that team is nothing but mercenaries who dont care about winning, their only concern is themselves.  and that starts with the coach.  deion is the same way, a selfish narcissist.

and you have a qb who is obviously favored by the coach and who only cares about himself.  he'll throw the team under the bus when they dont play well, he'll sulk.  no one will want to give it all for a guy like that.

not to mention the lack of talent up front.  it takes a while to build a solid oline.  you cant just import pieces in the portal every year.

Relevant for the sake of relevance. They were an afterthought until he came around and I think they just like having people actually watch and care for a change.

I wouldn't be surprised if they tire of him though, especially if/when he continues losing and eventually leaves the program worse than he found it while deflecting blame. Hopefully the mainstream media will go away too when his schtick gets old and he isn't winning games.

"If Lou Holtz or Urban Meyer or Marvin Harrison Jr., or C.J. Stroud, they want to go use their name and help sell cars, help a business, that's great," Meyer said. "But to have a 17-year-old demand money for a visit, to pay these players a lot of money to go visit a charity for 20 minutes and they write you a check for $50,000, that's cheating. That's not what this is all about. I'm very disappointed in where it went."

That's cheating?  OK, Urbz.....

NIL is a ridiculous system, the donors who are funding it are being had, and the Universities that are losing development funds to all their other priorities in the redirection of those donor dollars to Ephemeroptera like player salaries are ultimately acting against their own institutional interests..... and the Sun also rises in the East.

Oh, I’m not saying NIL is the best and cleanest business model.  But Urbz suddenly reaches for morals?  Come on…..

cant wait until there is a salary cap and big boosters can go back to paying kids under the table again.

LOL - this should be bookmarked as a future 'most likely outcome'.

What I really love is the juxtaposition within a single season of suspending the National Championship program's coach for getting advanced scouting from one guy buying single tickets for friends with iPhones because advanced scouting is so expensive that we have to outlaw it or we can't maintain a level playing field, and  --Oh, by the way - remember you need to raise an 8 figure sum to pay your players next year or we will probably re-organize our conference without you.
