I was hoping they would move a Dman just so we could get to see Edvinsson.

Right.

Get a 4th for Ghost (per buddha's doubts...) and a 5th for Perron?

And bring up Edvinsson and Kasper?

If those guys are ready for the NHL challenge (the big question), then I don't see a problem there.

It needs to be done.

At least at some point in time.

the talk before this losing streak was them looking to re-sign perron, which is crazy, imo.  i know he's a good locker room guy but his play has really deteriorated this year.

i was hoping they would have trade a defenseman for the reasons already articulated by everyone else.

"old, but slow" is not a good motto for your defense corps.  i honestly think they expected someone (anyone!) to get hurt.  and there have been almost no injuries to the defense.

Gee, I dunno.  You're right, the fans should wildly cheer for them no matter how bad they're playing.

Where did I say the fans should cheer no matter what? Do you think they players are trying to lose?  Once again, what would it accomplish?  I guess if hearing the booing makes you feel better that is nice for you, I just don't see the point of doing it let alone making up a scenario in your head before the game where it should happen.  Seems like a miserable way to live, but that's just me.  I hope you get what you want because you're apparently pretty worked up about it.

I recall the good ol’ days of 2 weeks ago when the biggest controversy around the Wings was whether Jared Goff chants were out of place.

Get some wins for this team and we can get back to that place...

I do think that one win, let's hope tonight a thumping of Arizona, can set the team back into a hot streak. Maybe just wishful thinking. But I think the Wings are actually a pretty good team.

Speaking of conservative. The more I think about it, the more their use of Seider frustrates me. Here you have a player that can dominate the ice and you task him to be the guy standing in front of your own net most of the time. Total waste of skill. Sure it's great if he adds that to his overall repertoire but if that's their career plan for him someone in the FO may need to take a BC twohander upside the head to figure out that's a stupid strategy. Turn him loose.

What does this say about the rest of this team.   Larkin goes down and it is over.    What a weak bunch this is.

Doesn't say much for the team but it does say that Larkin is probably a better player than he is ever given credit for either around the league or even in Detroit.

Hindsight is 20/20 but objectively, we knew/should have know that  Lyon was too big a part of the surge after the 1st of the year and that it was not sustainable, in which case I wish Yzerman had done some selling to obtain more future assets. Maybe he tried, no way to know. Stevie is a tight lipped as any GM in the history of major sports.

There’s a saying in golf that if you want to be a better putter, hit it closer to the hole and give yourself easier putts.

The best way to improve goaltending is to play better in front of Lyon and let him make easier saves.

LOL - At one time I played a lot of straight pool and and it's exactly the same thing. Guys that make a lot of shots give themselves a lot of easy shots to make.

The other weird thing with the Wings is how when they bring in a player he always seems to start out making a nice impact and then by the time half a season goes by they disappear - I'm thinking Perron, Sprong, Walman. Even DeBrincat's 1st month was his best. Is it just a general hockey thing where guys come to a new team really feeling up against it or is there something about the Wings system that is crushing guys that come into it?
