oblong Posted Tuesday at 11:45 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:45 AM this is the start of either a very good week or a very bad week. 1 Quote
Edman85 Posted Tuesday at 12:04 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:04 PM If we go 1-2 in the series, that seems like an in-between? Quote
kdog Posted Tuesday at 01:23 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:23 PM (edited) Just don't get swept and we are fine. They called up Hurter and optioned Hannifee sometime yesterday. I wonder if they are keeping Skubal the chamber...if they lose the first two. Otherwise, his start can be pushed. Edited Tuesday at 01:23 PM by kdog Quote
Tiger337 Posted Tuesday at 02:20 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:20 PM You are all a bunch of loosers. Win the series! Quote
casimir Posted Tuesday at 02:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:27 PM Let's all kick a little ass in our endeavors this week, shall we? Quote
chasfh Posted Tuesday at 03:25 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:25 PM If we lose two or all of three to the Guardians—at home—then yeah, I'll be nervous. When the Tigers were still swooning a couple of months or so ago, A.J. Pierzynski said in his podcast that they had gotten off to such a big lead in such a competitive division they were playing bored, or something along those lines. I remember thinking at the time, OK, Pierzynski was inside the game, there might be something to that. Well, there's zero reason to play bored now. We have to play as though our season is on the line, which, to some degree, it is. We have to come out this series on fire, and we have to lose only if the Guardians outplay us in well-played games. We have Mize, Flaherty and Skubal all starting, no pitching chaos this series. Sloppiness might still be overcome, but it cannot be excused. This is where we find out who these guys really are, and as importantly, what kind of coaching staff we really have. Quote
lordstanley Posted Tuesday at 03:55 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:55 PM I predict a walkoff home run tonight that smashes a few lights. 1 Quote
kdog Posted Tuesday at 04:51 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:51 PM Finnegan and Sewald should be in the equation by next week. 1 Quote

Pierzynski and thinking 'He may have something there' also. Yet, as you said, they should hopefully play here out. If you really think about it, a team 'just' has to play above .500 during actual post-season play to keep moving on - much easier said than done. Quote
oblong Posted Tuesday at 06:10 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:10 PM technically no. But it sure would feel nice. But it's baseball. They could get swept at home then go to CLE and sweep them there... again. Quote
kdog Posted Tuesday at 08:25 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:25 PM (edited) Vierling has been shutdown after a setback, Finnegan close to going out on a rehab assignment. Sewald close to getting his chance. Edited Tuesday at 08:26 PM by kdog Quote
gehringer_2 Posted Tuesday at 08:45 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:45 PM (edited) Don't pitch to Ramirez if anyone is on base, even if they are loaded. Edited Tuesday at 08:46 PM by gehringer_2 1 Quote
Tigermojo Posted Tuesday at 09:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:06 PM That sucks for Vierling. Big contributor last year. Not great at anything but good at everything. 1 Quote
