Motown Bombers Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Rams fans: We need Stafford because Goff needs a good team around him to be successful. Lions fans: Stafford didn’t win a playoff game in 12 years. Rams fans: That’s because Stafford had a bad team around him in Detroit. 1 Quote
Motown Bombers Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Goff doesn’t make this play when he first came over from the Rams. Quote

Jimbo Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Definitely a concern with the injuries in the secondary. Biggest thing we want to avoid this year are the season ending injuries. Having back ups in the secondary against Chase and Higgins isn't going to be good although no Burrow throwing to them. Do we know the timetable yet on Paschel, Davenport, and McNeil yet? If they can come back right after or close to the bye week, (and we don't have any more significant injuries) our DL is going to be very solid and deep. Jamo had a tough game yesterday. I will say though that some were not his fault and Goff waited to long for the long throws, so not all on Jamo. I kept on wondering why they kept on throwing the deep ball but I think that's what the Browns were giving them. Everything with Jamo is stretching the field, so even though they didn't connect it did look like it opened up Laporta, Raymond, and St. Brown to get some middle of the field plays. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted September 29 Posted September 29 I just hope the Reed thing isn't something that lingers all year. We got Cincy, KC and TB before the bye, not exactly the most favorable slate of teams to face without your top corner but we may be best served just to bite the bullet and sit him out until then just to make sure it doesn't linger all year. Motown Bombers Posted September 29 Posted September 29 I would be onboard with signing CJGJ if Campbell feels they can manage him. Keep Robertson in the outside and Arnold shouldn’t be out long. Quote
Nate7474 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 We’ve got options. They went out and brought in better vets imo this offseason. Branch can come down and fill the slot role if we need to. We’ve been playing a lot of base defense this year which helps since we only use 2 corners in base. I think it really depends on how long Arnold is also out on if we need to make a trade. The biggest key to me is we will need to generate more pressure to help out the less talented CBs. Quote

I agree, but as noted above (or on the other thread), we are tied for the lead in sacks through 4 games. I don't know where we stand in total pressures, but other than in GB, we are doing reasonable in finishing off. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted September 29 Posted September 29 DJ Reed has been relatively healthy for most of his career. So I feel confident we will see him again and it will be during the regular season. That said, it could be 4-6-8-10 weeks still and that does worry me a bit. I'm down for CJGJ if they feel his talent level and will to compete is still there. If Campbell and his staff can manage his attitude and don't feel he would be an issue in their lockeroom, I'm ok with bringing him back. Maybe the reason they let him walk in the first place had to do in part with his attitude. Who knows. I do feel like they might end up making some type of move, however minor, if Reed is out for an extended period of time. Quote
