RandyMarsh Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Back to back shutout wins for the Tigers! The Twins with a Tigersesque 5 hits and zero runs over the course of those 2 games. 1 Quote

Especially as they get some of their pitching back off the injured list Edited June 2, 2022 by mtutiger Quote

lordstanley Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 Back to a .400 record! Seriously though, a win tomorrow to take 4 out of 5 from the Twins would renew some of my hope. 1 Quote

On July 10, 2011, on his way to a Cy Young, Verlander's ERA touched 2.15, which was the lowest point it would touch for the season, finishing at 2.40. Without checking all the records, I would guess that that 2.15 is the best ERA for any Tiger starter at any point in a season after 10+ starts since JV in '11. Ha Bally's must have saw your post and wondered themselves cause they just showed the stat on the postgame show that in the last 40 seasons only JV in 2012 with a matching 2.15 and David Wells in 1993 with 1.85 have had a 2.15 or less through 10 starts. LOL - the funny thing is that Keating said 2012 and the reference I posted was 2011, but damn if JV didn't hit 2.15 two years in a row, though he wasn't quite as dominant in '12 as in '11 and Price edged him out for the CY that year. Faedo is evidently the 1st Tiger rookie to start out with 5 starts with under 2 runs in about forerver, might as well go for 6, Quote
Sports_Freak Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 The Tigers remembered how to score runs at a good time. Taking 2 of 3 from Cleveland and now winning a series against the division leading Twins. Quote
casimir Posted June 2, 2022 Posted June 2, 2022 A win in only 135 minutes. Why can't they do this every night? Quote
