  1. Past hour
  2. There have been times he's come off the screen with an open shot...since Cade hit him in the hands with a pass he fumbled in game 4...he's not looking for him
  3. One my least favorite actors attempts at another accent was Al Pacino in Scarface. Even when i was like 18 and should have liked that movie i didn't because he came accross as so fake.
  4. and there are multiple levels of this. you can do a period piece and want the characters to have period sensibilities, e.g. barbarians talking like barbarians, or you set an essentially modern fable in period and want those characters to have a ‘modern’ outlook. my compliant about Nuremberg was even narrower than that, which is the unnecessary use of particular words/idioms that didn’t exist in the era when the language of the era would be perfectly intelligible to the viewer if the writer had bothered to look for the anachronisms he had let creep in and purge them.
  5. Best posts of May 2026, Back-to-Back Division.
  6. The lack of creativity from the coaching staff last night is stunning. Every single time down it was the exact same thing. Cade starting with the ball in his hand at the top of the key. The Cavs defense was in position before Cade even crossed mid-court because they knew exactly what was coming. The same exact thing over and over. We knew months ago this tactic would be deployed against Cade. The staff had the entire season to come up with a way to counter it, and they obviously have found nothing. Just running the same garbage over and over and hope it works isn't a strategy. Put 4 guys on one side of the floor and let Cade ISO on the other. Set the screen with a shooter instead of a big. How about starting Cade off ball. Put him on the baseline, set a down pick to free him up. Start him off ball in the corner, give it to Harris or Duren in the high post, bring Cade to the ball for a direct hand off. How about run a PnR with Jenkins and Duren and have Cade act as a weak side cutter. Get him moving! If a team is going to double a guy you want him moving when he gets the ball. Does that stop the double? No, its still coming. But maybe now its a step late because he gets the ball in a different area of the floor. Maybe it gets caught up in traffic. Maybe they just have a brain fart and screw up the double because they are seeing a different offensive set and have to think on the fly. Stop running the Cade sledgehammer from the top of the key every damn play. The fact an NBA coach and his staff couldn't come up with a different play to get Cade better looks is mind-blowing. It should concern everyone moving forward.
  7. Hard to gel with eleven of the 17 guys on your injured list would be on the active roster right now.
  8. Thats internet perfection, well done sirs
  9. i disagree on this one. something they did in red october on a different aspect demonstrates why: the cinematographer on hfro realized that he needed some way for the viewer to instantly recognize which sub he was looking at, so he lit each one in a different color. the subterfuge works perfectly, your brain picks it up but you hardly notice at the conscious level. IIRC a similar trick was used in VanillaSky to id dream sequences. accents work the same, it maintains a level of illusion identifying the difference in context but still allows you access to dialog you understand.
  10. cleveland took away the pick and roll by packing the paint and having two giant shot blockers on their team. that was to be expected by everyone paying attention. orlando did the same thing. its not that cade isnt looking for him, its that he's no longer trying to force it like he did in the first few orlando games. the real problem with duren is that he's been totally ineffective on the boards and in interior defense. he's been outplayed by stew (before he got hurt) and reed (whenever jb's dumb ass gives him a chance). he's frustrated and sulking. after each time he misses a bunny or "almost" gets his hand on a rebound, he shakes his head, throws his hands in the air, and sulks back down the floor. he needs to hustle like reed and ausar. and he's not.
  11. I shared these guys in the “what are you listening to” thread and now it’s time for the geeky stuff. Lots of loopers and they are using microtones. I didn’t know what that was so I’ll include a video of an explanation which makes it very clear. It’s essentially a 24 note scale and it’s not some Willy Nilly “find an odd note” technique. It’s very Asian based with a whole lot of jazz. These guys are innovators and need to be appreciated for the sheer genius of what they do. Drummer brings it. Hard.
  12. I wish they weren’t here.
  13. Right, The experience would not have been complete without a correction from Shelton.
  14. The Tigers offensive roster is a series of unmade decisions..offer Gleyber arb because it's convenient, roll Tork out there just hoping and praying he will get better based on inertia. Sticking to the platoon system with guys can't replicate outlier seasons. That's why it looks so hapless sometimes. Greene, Dingler, and McGonigle will be around after the lockout ends. I can't say who they should commit to beyond that. We can't do anything about the pitching..there is just natural attrition and guys get hurt. We will get some injured guys back and others will get hurt.
  15. That’s more of a trophy.
  16. Today
  17. My knee hurts just looking at that windup.
  18. fascinating
  19. yes, I just looked it up and it's grass ****. I can't remember whether I pronounced it as a French person or an ignorant Bostonian.
  20. This is a swing district by the way.
  21. It is getting more difficult for me to care...
  22. Yes I get it and agree that there are very few straight up trades in the NHL and I would not expect one to occur in this case. But I don’t think his trade value has collapsed. And I don’t think anyone wants to trade him for anything other than player(s) that make the team better immediately.
  23. Cade has been looking less for Duren in the paint when he rolls of the screen....he has perhaps lost confidence in him as well
  24. We really enjoyed “Project Hail Mary”. When I saw the previews I thought “oh, a 2026 ET”. Glad I tried it anyway. It was funny, entertaining and occasionally tension-filled. Also the plot twist toward the end was really well done.
  25. Reminds me of the Devi Cruz,Tony Clark, Damien Easly, Bobby Higgison, Juan Encanarcian era where it was just time to get rid of the crew and on to the next
  26. Tork is a mixed bag right now - he's walking enough to be keeping one of the better OBPs on the team but he's fallen back into the his usual rut of taking so many strikes looking for perfect that his K rate is too high. He strikes me as a guy who just can't get out of his own way mentally to maximize the physical talent he does have and it's frustrating to watch. He needs to go to RF more and he needs to swing at strikes both of which he is perfectly capable of. If we had a LHB that could play first you could sit him against tougher RHP ( of course Anderson is a RHB) - you'd think that guy could be Keith, but he's a worse defender and until he finds some ISO he's no more productive than Tork has been. This team just is not gelling according to plan.
