  1. Past hour
  2. This is not a fact, simple or otherwise. It is your opinion, even if you attempt to portray it as fact.
  3. IIRC there were those in the 90s who argued that global warming was good for the economy. Hmm, now I'll have to look. I remember corporate apologist Jacoby wrote about this (was with The Boston Globe at the time), but I'm guessing he got the idea from somebody else.
  4. Agreed, the later rounds are rough. I love the first couple round where there are multiple games on every night and I'm glued to my tv.
  5. If I had more confidence in the Wings' drafting and development, I'd urge them to insert as many prospects into the big club next season and then ask for a bit more patience. But unfortunately, I'm not. Therefore, since I don't have much confidence in their drafting and development, if I had more confidence in their pro scouting I'd urge the Wings to trade as many prospects as possible while they still have perceived value, in exchange for some contributing NHLers. Unfortunately, I don't have confidence in their pro scouting.
  6. rasmussen has been total **** for 2 years.
  7. The most memorable game I have ever been to is the Magglio walkoff in 2006, and a close second is the Saturday 12-inning walkoff the second to the last day of 1987. Some of the other memorable games I've been to include: Shohei pitching a one-hitter in the first game of a doubleheader in 2023 Henderson Alvarez no-hitter in Miami in 2013 The ALDS clincher against the Yankees in 2006, in which A-Rod batted eighth! Tigers' first-ever regular season game in Wrigley in 2000. (We lost 😢) The second-to-last game ever in Tiger Stadium in 1999 Bobby Higginson three-homer game in 1997 Tram and Lou's last game together in Baltimore 1995 Ken Griffey Sr and Ken Griffey Jr playing in the same game 1990 Cecil Fielder's roof shot in 1990 Kirk Gibson's roof shot in 1983 George Brett's three-homer game in 1983 Hank Aaron's only Tiger Stadium home run in 1975 My first-ever game in 1972 against the Texas Rangers, a game in which Ted Williams had a duty to perform
  8. One of the more giant of the giant assholes.
  9. Which means Putin was funding CPAC.
  10. By the way, Wednesday’s afternoon “getaway“ game against the Royals is on Peacock, which now has the right to what used to be the mlb.tv “free game of the day.“ So it’s no longer a “free game” if you subscribe to mlb.tv. About 90 minutes after the game ends you can watch it on mlb.tv. I don’t know how this affects Detroit Sportsnet users, though. EDIT. A quick Google search tells me that Detroit sports net users will not be able to access this game. In fact, there are 16 games that you will no longer have access to at least live. National Exclusivity: At least 16 Tigers games in 2026 are slated for national-only broadcasts through MLB partners like Peacock, NBC, Fox, and TBS. I don’t know how true all this is because the Internet lies a lot now because it’s run by stupid robots that are programmed by oligarchs who no longer have to care because they have absolute power.
  11. Minnesota will finish closer to the bottom in the AL than the top.
  12. I would do unspeakable things to get Rasmussen off this roster 😂
  13. Or his GM never got enough talent around him to make a serious run deep into the playoffs. Waste of a superstar talent. Like him or not, he was a great player.
  14. I’m going to miss at least the first hour of this game - and probably more - because it conflicts with a long-standing doctors appointment. GO TIGERS!
  15. No, I wouldn't trade Rasmussen. He has good size, and was injured all year. I would use every pick possible to get better.
  16. More of a college football item but relevant since Isbhia owns an NBA team.
  17. It's just WAY TOO early for me to worry about how guys are doing in the minors this year... AAA has only played 15 games so far and all our other teams barely half that... If a guy starts out hot... great. If a guy is starting slow... I'll just wait until we are in at least the 25-40 game range before I try getting a decent read on a guy. Just for example: The highest OPS by a Tigers minor leaguer right now is... Gage Workman. 1.090 OPS at Toledo. Yeah... I don't think that one will last all season long...
  18. Because the finals will be scheduled to end middle of June either way. 5 game series equals less possible games in the same time frame. I don't mind the gaps the first round or two because I have other games to watch. Its the conference finals and finals where it bugs me. You might not see a team play for 2-3 nights. You almost forget there is a series going on.
  19. Torres DH Vierling CF McGonigle 3B Dingler C Pérez, W RF Greene, R LF Torkelson 1B Báez, J SS McKinstry 2B
  20. I think they need some forechecking forwards, and MBN and Mazur fit that bill. I think Kasper can fit well on the first line with Larkin and Raymond. I also like Finnie on the 1 line, since he's a great skater, and forechecker, and allows Larkin to not have to do too much.
  21. Today
  22. I have heard 70 and 80. 80 is rarely every even thrown around, so just the mention is significant.
  23. Also, I think he fell because he was considered a 2b only.
  24. why would a five game series result in more gaps? the real issue is the nba insisting almost all the games need to be scheduled so they dont conflict with each other.
  25. but what level of talent? do ANY of those guys profile as a first line skilled scoring winger? maybe bear? looks like second and third line guys, which is fine, but not totally what they need. plus, if history is a guide, none of those guys are going to make a meaningful contribution next year. if the spine the wings is a bunch of rookies, they are likely to miss the playoffs again.
