I don't say anything good about him because he's been a fraud his whole life and he's a bigger disgrace than I even realized. There is nothing good about him and I am tired of you people buying into his big con. This has nothing to do with politics. I didn't talk about the Bush's this way. Don't talk to me about Biden. I don't give two ***** about Biden, but he still a hundred times better than the grifter. So, Trump made a deal between Israel and a couple of insignificant ME countries. Then he sold them weapons a couple of weeks later. That sounds more like an arms deal than a peace deal. Nothing Trump did matters anymore anyway. He undermined our democracy on the way out the door and continues to actively divide our country as a former president. He is a huge disgrace and should not be given any benefits of the doubt, but people like you keep enabling him by pretending everything was ok.5 points

Obama considered talking to him and you guys called him a communist for even considering. Stop pretending that Trump is some kind of skilled diplomat. He is an idiot. Trump begged Kim to talk to him and gave him exactly what he wanted - relevancy on the world stage.3 points

If we want sustained success then this FO and coaching staff needs to find a way to succeed without the #1 overall pick. It’s time to stop losing for draft position. They’ve tried that for a long time and all they have become is losers. That’s why I get so confused by fans desire to tank. If we have the right FO then we will find talented players. And just because the team is terrible right now doesn’t mean we should excuse poor decisions from the head coach. I don’t even care that he makes mistakes if he learns from it, but we should be upset if he keeps making the same mistakes. We should also question the judgement of a guy who has never called plays taking over play calling. It’s a symptom of a possible larger issue.2 points

I was going to say something to that... But G2 said a lot of what I wanted to say. I would agree with sloth that Ras has the looks of a 3rd-line defensive center. But... I think he can also be a playmaker as well. Yeah, he's not as good around the net as he should be, and isn't physical, or doesn't know how to use his physical advantage... But to G2's point... he should at least be strong on the puck and a strong possession player... which we haven't seen that much of from him. Sloth says Ras is still quite stiff even with skating improvements and I have to agree. At least from what I've seen. In order to make the jump from point A (defensive center) to point B (defensive center that can control the puck/ possession, and be a dangerous offensive playmaker)... He needs to get stronger/ better balance on his skates, not get knocked off the puck, and improve his puck control/ stick handling abilities. I see him get knocked off the puck too often, or the puck is taken away from him when he had "control" of it on his stick, despite his size and "improved skating". I don't know if he can get there. But I would like to think he can.1 point

Maybe. I think the push for Brown is because Ewers coming early means both Miller and McCord are gone. But could be. Montgomery is interesting Both ND and OSU offered him early, partly in an attempt to get his brother. If Ewers had been here this spring, I think he'd for sure be gone, but since he didn't arrive until fall and is already getting paid, I think he stays. All it takes is an injury to Stroud next year and he is playing early. If all 3 go, the QB room is definitely in trouble behind Stroud, which is why I think at least 1 stays and I believe it will be Ewers. It will definitely be interesting to see what happens.1 point

correct. There's also room for old fashioned ball busting between sides. But someone showing up with guns blazing with no prior history posting... that's a sign.1 point

To me Soderblom actually has good hands. Rasmussen "had good hands" around the net on the power play in his draft year because he was just being lanky against guys who couldn't stop him. Soderblom makes puck plays with confidence that I don't think I've seen Rasmussen even attempt. Part of it in my opinion is that Soderblom has improved his edgework a lot which lets him try these things at his size. Rasmussen still looks quite stiff despite his overall skating improvements, at least to me. Whether Soderblom can do it against NHL players is another story, but I think they're different players outside of not necessarily being punishing hitters for being enormous. Soderblom was pulling off between the legs power play goals in the World Juniors before he ever really blossomed at the SHL level. I would faint if Ras ever did that. I think that right there just shows that Soderblom knows his body and how to manipulate it a lot better even at a young age. Creating space with your body, using your huge reach, and being able to quickly snap a shot through your legs is quite impressive. Rasmussen's ceiling to me appears to be a shutdown type third line center at best (which I would NOT complain about, he could be a very valuable player depending on how it all works out) and I don't see that in Soderblom's game at all. Hell it seems like Frolunda are sitting him a bit at the end of SHL games even if he scores well earlier in the game. I'm still not convinced that Soderblom will flourish in the NHL but I have a lot of excitement to see them try it. Hopefully he comes over to North America soon.1 point

People just don't get the difference in what OSU football means to OSU vs what UM football means to UM. I'm working with a GSI who graduated from OSU last year. She was telling her freshman UM students about how during OHIO state week legions of OSU students fan out across town to duct tape out the M's on all the signs they can find. Regardless of whether you think it's good or bad, it's just fact that that kind of energy does doesn't exist at Michigan. I was here from the the first big win in '69 and even then it was never that intense. Ohio State has put themselves where they are because it's important to them - it's another reflection of the same set of circumstances that make Ohio HS football the best recruiting in the midwest. And as Buddha says, the structure of the playoff has only stabilized the differential between playoff contenders and everyone else.1 point

how did the msu game get out of hand early? they were up by double digits in the 3rd quarter. and really, i love how you hope michigan fires a guy who wins 10 games in hopes that they can hire a guy who will win 11. the last time michigan lost a successful coach they hired rich rod. and then brady hoke. what gives you any hope that they will hire the next nick saban? your ideas for what michigan should be do not conform with the reality of the 2021 college football landscape. yes, they could be marginally more successful, but they arent going to be ohio state until they open the playoff to more teams. and even then i doubt they go to the lengths osu goes to ensure they have a winning college football program. honestly tater, you might just want to consider rooting for another team. its obvious you get no pleasure out of michigan anymore.1 point

just to get back briefly to our previous discussions of the evilness of colombus (the explorer, not the shitty town in ohio), i was amused to see that people are now apologizing for even mentioning the number "1492" because it causes people so much pain. colombus living in people's heads even today. lol.1 point

You are right of course that they will always find GMs and HCs....I do believe that the top-of-the-line talent can easily avoid jobs they see as less-than-desirable. The Fords might have a reputation for being hands-off (I have heard people say that but I wonder if that's true), but the Lions definitely have a national reputation for being the Kobayashi Maru of NFL teams. While I honestly believe the team's reputation as an all-time-loser hurts our chances at getting top talent to come here, I also know that I am wildly speculating on this point.1 point
