  1. I can't speak for all fans but for me personally it's not all about banners and Tshirts, it's the experiences you get along the way. Those several years the Tigers were good they didn't win the whole thing but I got so much enjoyment out of going to playoff games, watching big games with friends or just the nerves/butterfiles I got watching important games at home by myself. Same for any other sports team I root for including Michigan. Those experiences and memories are things that I won't ever forget and mean alot to me even if I never got to experience them win the whole thing.

  2. So your feelings are hurt by mean tweets so you support the people that doesn't support you. Thats smart! Im afraid you are extremely delusional. Everyone has their crazy supporters but to think people who voted for Trump are bad people is just stupid. A few people voted for Trump because they were loyal to him. However, them and the rest voted for him because they know what an unmitigated disaster the democrats are and a Biden admin would be. A lot of the Trump voters don't like him but they wouldn't allow that to cloud their good judgement and vote for a guy that would destroy the country. Unfortunately they have been proven right. Biden has been the worst POTUS we've had. Far worse than Carter and Obama combined. His policies have made the US a very unsafe place. He was handed a secure southern border and blew it up within hours of taking office. He was supposed to be the Covid savior and we are as bad or worse now than we've ever been. Sorry Barney Fife but more people have died from Covid under Biden than Trump. Our economy is a disaster and inflation is worse than we've seen in years. This is just the tip of the iceburg. The rest of the world laughs at us because we've got a POTUS that clearly has dementia. You and your pals can makeup stories and twist things however you want to fit the liberal agenda. You're just a liberal shill just like your pals here Barney Fife and the dude that has Trump Echoes in his head. Its the norm for democrats push their own BS stories. We've lived with the Russian hoax, two partisan impeachment hearings and now the very partisan jan 6 commission. We've also seen Republicans removed from committees because they hurt the delicate liberal feelings while Nutty Nancy and company ignore racist, anti seminite and terrorist supporting reps on their side of the aisle. This shows not only how low the democrats are willing to go to gain power but the entire state of politics in the US. It's disgusting. If you need a participation trophy to feel good you can keep blowing smoke up each others rear ends. The smart people ain't buying it.

  3. If it was an insurrection like you and others here claim why hasn't anyone been charged with it? They are being extra tough on these people so if there was an actual insurrection they would be charged with it. But if it makes you feel better to make up things then go ahead.

  5. I'm not sure anything we saw from 2011-2014 could top several moments in 2006: 1) Magglio's home run 2) Kenny Rogers shutting down the Yankees in game 3 3) ALCS game 4 The post game celebration after the Yankees encompassed 20 years of frustration and losing seasons. Just a week prior the team collapsed against the Royals and lost the division on the final day and it seemed like a great season was being relegated to a flimsy wild card berth and a sweep against the Yankees, especially after game 1. I am not sure anything going forward will ever top that season and over time the WS loss to the Cardinals is longer in the memory bank. We had a sundae with no cherry is the way I view 2006. Would have been nice but not necessary to enjoy.

  9. it is a fact that Russia has real historic ties/claims - particularly in Crimea. In fact it is a more than a little ironic that that Ex-Soviet Russia is being hoist on the petard of their own false reality system. The Soviets created fig leaf 'independent' soviet 'states' within the CCCP as a misdirection over the reality of their status as a land empire. Ukraine was not independent under the Tsars and wasn't under the Soviets either. But the Russian are now being bitten by the fact that they initially made them a separate state on paper and the question is now is whether that has morphed into a different reality on the ground. The Ukrainians seem to think so! It's very easy for the west to dismiss Russian claims in the name of the claimed greater virtue of self-determination, but we should remember that the worst war we ever fought (and won) was pretty much to deny a portion of our countrymen self-determination. We would claim we fought their self-determination in the name of a higher virtue, while we will claim to support Ukraine's self-determination also in the name of a higher virtue of being anti-Russian. But virtue is in the eye of the beholder. You can't negotiate with Russia on the basis that you find them the source of vice. It may be true but it's still a non-starter at the negotiating table! So the first thing to accept is that even if it weren't Putin, any Russian leader is likely to put up a fight over Ukraine joining NATO. If what's important is doing right by the people of Ukraine, we won't be doing them any favors by turning their country into a worse war zone than it is. It's more important to persuade Putin to keep his hands to himself so Ukraine can develop on its own path, than to insure Ukraine has a path to NATO membership. If a deal can be made for a non-aligned but basically free Ukraine (the Finland model), the West would be both foolish and wrong not to take it. Finland is doing fine, BTW. They found a path where they get along with the West and they get along with Russia both quite nicely. NATO survives quite well without them and the Russians don't seem to feel threatened their fully Europeanized political and economic organization at all.

  11. For C-MO's grand slam I remember AJ Pierzynsky standing right in his spot at home plate, not budging, for the celebration. Bumping into guys. That's why I like him. He didn't do anything wrong. He's got a right to be there. For Pudge's HR we were with friends in Windsor having a cookout listening on the radio. We went nuts. It was August. For my birthday that year, which was game 4 of the ALDS, my son made me a card with #9 and #28 on it. I still have it. I got a Tigers road jersey that I've worn to 90% of games since then.... probably going to retire it this year. It still fits but getting worn out.

  12. I was at this game and the home run wasn't too far away from where we were sitting. Not real close, but just a section or 2 away.

  13. I don't remember the Thames HR but I remember the other 3 vividly. I didn't witness the Pudge HR but I was down at the Detroit Racquet Club for a fundraiser for my Uncle, we were outside in a tent and you could hear the roar from the stadium. Went inside to check a TV and sure enough it was from Pudge's walkoff HR.

  14. Everything from 2011-2014 kinds of blends together for me. They had very good seasons and great players, but there isn't one season that stands out from the others like 2006

  16. I've seen your posts here and assume you voted for Trump in 2020 and 2016. If you voted for Biden in 2020 and Hillary in 2016 then I'll sincerely and honestly apologize to you. If you voted for Trump than I'll tell you to suck it up snowflake like we were all told for the past four years. I've been told no less than half a dozen times "F*** My Feelings" by Trump supporters. It wasn't Hillary or Biden who mocked disabled people, woman, POWs, Gold Star Families, etc. It wasn't Hillary or Biden who went around hurling insults at people or using profanity in public or on social media. It wasn't Hillary or Biden who went around making racist and xenophobic remarks. It wasn't Hillary or Biden who went around talking about jailing reporters and changing libel laws to be able to sue the free press. It wasn't Hillary or Biden who lead an insurrection and tried to overturn the results of a democratic election and it wasn't their supporters who tried to execute members of Congress and hang the Vice President of the United States. The vulgarity, coarseness and crassness of American politics existed before Donald Trump. The difference is, it wasn't the President of the United States who was a vulgar, crass, racist (well maybe Nixon was). Not only did we live through four years of the President acting that way, he encouraged his supporters to act the same way. If you don't like the way I'm acting towards you and you did vote for Trump, then you should take a look in the mirror and reflect long and hard on the last four years and what many people had to go through in this country as a result of the President's words, actions, and uncouth behavior.

  19. there is definitely something not right. Look at his penalty minutes. He already has 50% more PIM in 23 games than he had in 56 games last season. That's a player who is either getting behind plays he thought he could make or just isn't concentrating. The goal on him tonight was terrible, He had inside leverage and just didn't deflect the man.
