A system in which a candidate receives 3 million fewer votes and still wins the election is rigged. A system in which California accounts for 12% of the US population and Wyoming accounts for 0.1% and both have the same 2% representation in the senate is rigged. Republicans haven't represented a majority of the population in the senate since 1996 but have held the majority in the senate 14 years since 1996. All 5 justices overturning Roe were confirmed by a majority Republican senate that did not represent the majority of Americans. That is rigged. Donald Trump lying about unfounded conspiracy theories that the election was stolen is not rigged. The Democrats currently represent 56% of Americans but only hold 50% of the seats. They'd won the popular vote in 7 of the past 8 elections but only won 5 of them. Joe Biden won by 7 million votes but the election really came down to less than 100,000 votes. These are facts and not conspiracies theories. Both sides are not a like on this.4 points

No, that's what we do here...when things go well it's because of Hinch. When they go poorly it's because of Avila. It reminds me of this satirical news report: "Jamaica's Ben Johnson tested positive for banned substances, causing the forfeit of the gold medal won by Canada's Ben Johnson".3 points

Kudos to Shep to remind viewers that "A 5 game hit streak is on the line for Candelario"...in the 3rd inning.2 points

It's still Hinch's decision to put those guys out there, I can't give him a pass to blame it all on AA.2 points

LOL- actually HW DVRs are history. It's all in the cloud. All you really get is a link to an entry in the server library. Downside is then the library turns over, your 'recording' goes bye-bye. DirectTV holds everything 9mo now I think, which is up from 90days when the service started. I guess they got a bunch more disk drives.2 points

There is so much wrong here. First the borders are not open, second Democrats aren't the ones who complain about being a drag on the welfare system. In fact, it was Republicans, plus Manchin, who killed the child tax credit. It's Democrats who want paid maternity leave. It's Democrats who want paid college education. It's Democrats who want more assistance for single mothers. Democrats are merely pointing out the rank hypocrisy that the Republicans are pro birth. The Republicans are the ones who claimed the election was fraudulent and mounted an insurrection on the capitol. Four of the five justices overturning Roe were appointed by Republicans who lost the popular vote and confirmed by senators who represented fewer people than the senators who did not choose to confirm them. A minority in government put in place the people to overturn Roe.2 points

Even the fly outs before the bloop gaffe were kind of ugly. Damn near crouched down to a knee on one of them. This roster is awful right now. They need to dump CastroW down to Toledo and pull up Clemens (ideally) or Short and just deal with CastroH as the backup SS. Schoop kind sit behind Clemens, or Clemens can move around 2B/LF/DH. Unfortunately, there aren't other moves to make. Candelario is showing signs of coming around. The OF is going to be Meadows and Grossman in the corners with a CF of Baddoo/Hill. Baez's bat might not be what we wanted, but damnit if isn't glorious to have that glove at SS. Cabrera is going to be the DH. Torkelson just needs to grind through and find it. They could try swapping Cameron for Baddoo (please, no more CastroH in CF, no more CastroW in Detroit's OF), they could try Short instead of Clemens. But that's essentially it. The position players are simply underperforming or didn't have room to underperform to begin with. And, yeah, the CastroW in OF crap..... Look, the offense is struggling, the pitching is holding it together and at least giving the team a shot. Let's not add another obstacle to a win by putting a horsebleep glove out there if it can be avoided.1 point

I think there is justification for playing lesser defender, if the defender is at least adequate and you are going to get a bona fide bat in the lineup (i.e. Nick C), but subbing out Hill for W. Castro is barely justified on the bats before you even consider the D and Willi has shown limited fly ball judgment. I don't know how you can even think about playing a guy in the OF who doesn't have a decent sense of where the ball is going - it negates every other skill he may have as a defender if he takes them all to the wrong place. And OF mistakes are expensive - usually cost multiple bases.1 point

Bad teams have to be careful with terrible players like Bagley. He improved the team, but he isn't a long term solution. No contact over two years and the second year is preferably a team option. Use him to get better to attract better players and then move on from him.1 point

It's not just senate representation. Lets look at the house. Wyoming has one congressman and a population of 576,000. California has 52 congressional districts. Whoa, that sounds like a lot but the average size of a district in California is 750,000. If California were divided up into districts of 576,000, it would have 68 congressional districts. But what about Texas you extreme liberal? Well of course Texas would have roughly 51 congressional districts vs 38, however, Trump only won Texas by 6 points. Biden won California by 29 points. If you start divided Texas up into more districts you will end up with more Democrats. It's why Texas deliberately wanted to undercount it's own population in the state. The Republicans are so desperate to maintain power that they would intentionally forfeit seats because they cannot gerrymander many more districts. Rigged system.1 point

And, especially, the guy who filled out the lineup card. Knowing that the team would probably have trouble scoring more than 2 runs, he keeps the best outfield defender on the bench and puts one of his "versatile" guys, God this is driving me crazy, into the outfield instead. Every single person in this forum would have had Hill in center and Baddoo in left. Without exception, every one of us. And, by the way, every player who dressed for the game would have done it the same way too. They earned a win, they didn’t get one, and they know why. They are not angry at Willi, they already knew that he is a bad defender.1 point

I guess Meadows is under the weather, but where the hell is Hill? Hinch may be the greatest thing since Leo Durocher but I wish he would learn you can't give teams 4 and 5 outs an inning.1 point

Kerr is such a twat. Saying how his guys just play hard, go after every loose ball. And oh yeah, don't go after a guy who is ahead of the play and risk his career Zaza played for your team when he sick his leg out on that Kawhi jumper and he reinjured his ankle. Draymond had kicked how many people in the junk? Something about glass houses.1 point
