  3. First off, I don't think he's running again, but what do I know. And if he does run again, so what. Is this supposed to be a problem? The hallmark of democracy is if you think you can do a better job than the other person or perspective other person you have the freedom and ability to challenge them, whether that's Biden or Kamala or Mayor Pete. Are we now only allowed to run for office in America when insignificant people on social media like Robert Welch II say you can? People just can't get over the fact that they nominated a generationally bad and disliked candidate in 2016 and will do anything to justify their terrible candidate.

  6. If you have a QB that’s waiting for Kenny to get open, he’s not going to catch many balls. More often than not, Stafford would throw him open and Ken would leap up and make a play. Admittedly, I watched almost no Giants games last year but I wonder how much of the problem is the QB.

  8. Bought a six pack of new socks and today put on a pair and did so with the full knowledge that no matter what I do, and how hard I try, these socks will never EVER be this white again.

  11. He came into camp in '84 complaining about his low pay. He even said something like "These bums are making more than me". So we traded him for the 1984 Cy Young winner. But who's to say that deal wouldn't have happened anyway. Legend is that Sparky tagged Willie as a potential target while doing TV work in the playoffs in '83.

  12. Robbie with another 0 for 3 last night and is now 1 for his last 13, looks like that crack Atlanta video and coaching team needs to fix him again.

  13. Lions definitely dodged a bullet there with Kenny. Did the last year of injuries here deteriorate him that much or is it just the fact that Daniel Jones doesn't know how to maximize him like Stafford could?

  14. Meanwhile, Giants fans are talking about how they can get out of the Golladay contract.

  15. There is a spot for him in the NFL. I’m not sure it’s with the Lions. This discussion is a tip of the cap to Brad Holmes, who has done a great job improving the WR corps.

  17. The thing with Grossman aren't the numbers per se, it's the fact that Grossman said that he was fixed by the Braves' staff and wished that he could have had that kind of help in Detroit. It's a PR problem for Hinch, who up to this point has had no answers for the Tigers incredibly bad hitting this year. Grossman has always been a specialist against LHP, and at his age that's what will keep him around if he does last. As with all LHP hitting specialists, he has to be able to hit against RHP half-way decently to warrant a roster spot. He always did that before 2022. He couldn't hit RHP at all in 2022 before ATL, and now he is hitting them a little bit. It's probably a combination of his state of mind with a change of scenery and a new ballclub, a helpful tip from the ATL staff, and some luck. As RandyMarsh suggested, let's check back in a couple of weeks and see what it all looks like. Probably will look more like Paredes did after he came back to Earth.

  18. Jonathan Turdley used to be a regular guest on Countdown with Olbermann of all places.... and he was awesome then. I'm ok with it being characterized as a 180 personally, I'm not sure what happened to him.

  19. The new market inefficiency: grab players that the Tigers have ruined and revert them back to the hitter they used to be.

  20. It may not be once you factor in run scoring environment. (looks it up). It is worse even when you factor in environment.

  22. Got more of her backstory yesterday. She was found in Detroit in May. All the Detroit shelters were full and the finder could not foster another dog, so they called around and Washtenaw County took her in and gave her to Huron Valley. She had a fairly large mass and they removed most of it. The kind of mass it is - there is a 10% chance it could grow back and I will need to take her to the vet every 3 months. She was microchipped and her name was Lucy all along but the phone call to the number on the chip was never returned. She's been through a lot, but the folks at HSHV absolutely adored her. When I got her yesterday they got on the walkie talkie and told everyone Lucy's going home if they wanted to say goodbye and everyone on the staff came to say goodbye. She ate that up. She's housebroken, and very good about it. I'll be getting a lot more exercise with her around because she loves walks (don't all dogs?). She doesn't beg for people food and won't eat directly from my hand (yet). She's kind of picky so I got some canned chicken to mix with her food and she gobbled that up. She plays with her Moose toy by herself, she'll throw it around. She loses her mind over belly rubs and her whole body rocks when she gets them (I think it's her tail wagging her body)...........and she is very very sweet, like you can get contact Diabetes just from being around her. She seems to respond more to women than men (except me now) She has not taken long to get comfortable here and she knows she's safe with me. She jumped into the recliner with me at bedtime (I sleep in a recliner). 50 pound dog with me is a bit too much and too warm, but she got down and slept next to the chair most of the night. Follows me a lot but not as much as yesterday. I don't know how long she has, but she's gonna live happily.

  23. I was just thinking this the other day... Organizational philosophy should be to learn to change speeds above all else, and command & control... Add sliders and such after mastering the first two. There may be exceptions as Randy pointed out with natural high-spin guys like JV... and yes, hopefully Jobe falls into that category also...

  26. There was a group of 12 people at work yesterday and one was chest puffy about Cleveland beating Detroit on Wednesday. I turned and looked at him and said, “Look around, if we can get 100 pitches thrown around the plate tonight, we could beat the Tigers.”

  27. My boss, who was so supportive on giving me time to mourn Diego, lost her dog last night. He was 13 years old. I feel so bad for her. She's gonna have a rough weekend, but none of that will be reflected when she comes back to work. Lucky to have a boss like that.
