  2. Verdicts in Alex Jones case already over $700Million and the Judge isn't done reading yet. Jones out of business, Rush is dead. Have to enjoy the small victories.

  3. I saw something like this at a Barnes and Nobel awhile back. They need one at every bookstore as you walk in the door.

  4. This is like the ECHL equivalent I guess? He played a game in the VHL below the KHL and got an assist, then went down to the MHL below that (VHL had a few off days) and he put up 5 points in his first game there. I kinda love that SKA is moving him around so he just keeps playing. Have to think he's building confidence too. Exciting stuff so far.

  5. Been a rough couple of preseason games. Ivey is legit. He's going to make a bunch of mistakes (turnovers), but he adds something we desperately need and will likely lead this team in free throw attempts. Sad to see Bagley go down in preseason, but when has he ever been healthy for more than a minute? We knew this was coming at some point. Hopefully Duren can continue to gobble up rebounds in his absence and stake a claim to that starting Center role where he'll eventually belong anyway. 3 games into preseason and Casey is already driving me nuts. Soft Switching is bad: It's good to be a team that can switch, or even a team that switches fairly often (Boston, Miami), but "Soft Switching" (switching everything, even before the screen is set) is a very bad scheme. It literally took 5 minutes for the Pelicans broadcast team (Antonio Daniels) to start talking about how easy it would be to expose this defense. Opponent knows they can get whatever mismatch they want, whenever they want it. Rebounding suffers because you have Corey Joseph trying to box out Jonas Valanciunas constantly. You wind up having to double far too much. You put a lot of wear and tear on your guards trying to guard and box out people the size of Zion. And you constantly pull your rim protection far away from the basket leaving them in a bad position to guard the paint and contest shots. Offensive Scheme is still trash: The offensive is so vanilla and does nothing to shift the defense. Three DHOs that don't move the defense at all, then a simple pick and roll at the end of the clock to try to salvage something from the play. It's funny (and sad) to see them run the play and then look up confused like they expected it to create something. Maybe it works in practice against our own bad defense since we're switching everything, but this offense isn't working at all in games. Zero creativity. Zero use of individual player strengths. Rotations are the same garbage as last year: Should we get into his 5 man bench units with no staggering? One of Cade and Ivey should be on the court at all times, but that might require Casey to actually come up with a slightly more complex rotation scheme like every other team in the league. Right now, he's doing like I would in a video game. This team isn't getting anywhere with Casey at the helm and they'll constantly underperform. I get that he's good at developing young players, but get him into a development role then. We need an actual coach or my 35 win prediction is going to be way off - and that's what really matters 😄

  7. It is certainly reasonable to say that the Tigers (or any team) need to rely on at least 2 minor leaguers a year to join the club and be a solid contributor/starter. But the Tigers haven't had anything like this nominal track record, unfortunately. No disrespect to Keith Colt or anybody else but I would like to see MLB level production before we anoint anyone as the next good starting ____.

  8. i get it, i just think he would be better if he was a bit more critical and not just excusing everything or not speaking about it. but i understand why he does it.

  12. Some singers and songwriters have IT. A certain feature or thing about them that you just listen to them once and they pull you right in and keep you hooked. Tyler Childers has IT as far as not only country music singers go, but truly iconic American songwriters. I listen to a lot of great country/Americana/folk singer-songwriter folks from EmmyLou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Zach Bryan, Margo Price, etc. While I wouldn't put Tyler of Jason or EmmyLou, I'd vault him up pretty darn high on the list.

  15. Palacios is an arbitrage opportunity, nothing more. Wayyyyyy too much is being read into this. This doesn't indicate anything about the plans for the Castros or even Short. This is a guy on waivers they wanted to take a shot on. It wouldn't shock me if they try to slip him through waivers later this offseason.

  16. Harris picking up Palacios hopefully demonstrates that defense does matter and he will not tolerate players who are poor defenders. The days of moving the Lugo, Goodrums, Castros etc from position to position hoping they hit while butchering balls in the field I think and hope are gone. Thats progress. Which is why I suspect Badoo has a tall order making the team because he simply can not throw a baseball and teams take full advantage of that. He has to get on base at a high percentage to compensate for all the bases he gives up. He could DH but .....

  17. That's nice they took careof you like that, thanks for your service. I am a La-Z-Boy for life. We have 4 of there recliners at our house now. The oldest I bought in 2001 my 1st ever furniture purchase. I have had springs replaced once for $80 at our local warhouse that has a repair shop. I estimate to have watched well over 500 Tigers games in that chair and rocked all my kids and still going strong.

  21. We bought furniture from Ashley recently and they kept us up to date on schedules etc via e-mail and text every few weeks. It is a very well run business from my experience. We even received the furniture ahead of their projected date.

  22. Screw that homophobic sack of crap. I guess she's back to being a bigoted piece of shit so she can grift money off of whatever her ideology is now. She fucking sits there and complains about America as an oppressive nation while towing Putin's dick around by hand and hosting a show where the host has a open relationship with Viktor Orban, the authoritarian Dictator in Hungary.

  23. In a state which had a mass shooting, at the Tree of Life Synagogue in the metro Pittsburgh area, it is really repulsive to think that an anti-Semite like Doug Mastriano is the nominee. It is repulsive to think about in any state, but given the recent rightwing, anti-Jewish violence in the state, it is extra startling and maddening that they would in Pennsylvania.

  24. I'm having a hard time finding any good news out of anything. So I watch the charts - human behavior you might say. First, if we were still in our oil trade it might be time to dump that and take the grand or so we made - or maybe not. Let's take a peek at some chart porn. 9 month 1 day chart of the S&P. Notice the 3588.11. The other day the market reversed in the middle of the day and the pundits blamed it on some Fed dick jawboning. I don't think so. It bounced off that 3588.11 to the penny (shown on a daily chart). This level goes back to the last week of August of 2020. Things are getting dicey. Next stop 3393.52 if shit doesn't change. Will the money printers of the world capitulate? Don't know. But there might be a trade here.

  25. Jaden Ivey looks really, really, good. I knew we needed some explosiveness on this team but I didn't realize just how much until watching Ivey out there with Cade and Saddiq. I really like Keegan Murry as well but I think Ivey fills a much bigger hole for us.

  26. I don't think we should consider bridging to anybody anymore. We should look for the best third baseman possible and "if" Keith makes it figure out step two. No more assuming a minor leaguer will fill a future MLB position. When they actually make the team/MLB then fit them in via position change or trading them or someone to make them fit. Develop players the best we can but make them actually "beat out" an incumbent the the MLB level.

  29. The corpse of Evan Longoria is 37 years old. This is your idea of building a Tigers' playoff team for the future? No. He is not better than taking a chance on a Candy recovery year. Not at all.

  30. I think he visited Puerto Rico, but your point stands. So often when we look at historical figures, we no longer look at them with rose colored glasses, but grade them based on how they would be viewed today. With Columbus, even in his own time his brutality was such an issue that he found himself in trouble.

  32. No matter what JP was saying, the physical portion of this was all on Draymond. Walked into his face, bumped him with his body, JP pushes him away, and then Draymond escalates it again to the extreme. I hope this shuts up the people in Detroit who think we should go after him this offseason. I don't need that in the in my locker room. Behind Pat Bev, there are few players I dislike more in the league.

  33. if youre an nhl fan, you really should have espn+. its great for the nhl (and soccer). as someone who used to wake up at 530 am and trudge to the bar to watch united play, its great that you can see almost every soccer game now. the downside is that theyre all on different streaming services. paramount + for italy, argentina, brazil, and the champions league/europa league peacock for english premier league espn+ for spain, dutch, german, belgian, english championship unfortunately for me, my french league is captured by BeIn sports and that's the one im not paying for (stupid qataris). at least with the others my wife watches shows on those two which makes it easier to pay for. except espn+ which is almost a must as a sports fan now. btw, if you have a hulu subscription you can watch espn+ on it.
