  1. Dangerous question.

  2. No idea if Anderson intended it this way, but I've always taken "40 games" as more of: "Wait until 1/4 of the season if over before any 'Hot Takes'." Which of course I've completely ignored by starting this whole thread.

  3. Anxiety is indeed very real. I have a child living with it. Top student A++ top of her class through Freshman year high school. Then in an instant can not attend school. Snap of the fingers. And society though improving is still way behind. Must be drugs. Must be a party kid etc etc. while us parents are just trying to get her out of her room. Scary. Drop out or forced out of school. Only patience in HUGE quantities can overcome this and some are worse than others in time.. 3 years time…she gathered herself. Online high school then community school and proud to say graduating this spring from University of Washington in economics. So Austin Meadows should forget about baseball until he has the time to recover. Maybe send him to Florida his home. Play home games only for Lakeland and work out without any pressure to return to Detroit. Trying to prove he’s worth the money or trade for Detroit while the team losses is futile for his condition. Or retire. He has a new baby and most likely a few million in the bank.

  5. I'm starting to see what Yzerman and co saw in Cossa, he is looking more composed using his athleticism and size. Those highlights were against the top team in Toledo's division (Walleye are in second), 33 saves in the 4-1 win.

  7. i think what happened is Kubrick slowed Ryan O' Neal's career. Kubrick was a sort of career killer for a lot of actors. He took them out of the normal rotation for so long to do his movies that they didn't get seen in normal stuff for such a long time that they didn't produce the same impact on the movie industry as those who stayed out of his clutches. Mathew Modine was a perfectly serviceable brat pack type actor until he disappeared for all those years to make Full Metal Jacket. (BTW, see him in Birdy great Peter Gabriel soundtrack). I think Tom and Nichol as a Hollywood couple did not survive whatever it was that Eyes Wide Shut was. Tom Cruise is just so talented and hard working so he could overcome that sort of thing.

  8. as has been said many times, we all trust holmes to make the right decision. if he thinks one of the qbs will help them in a couple years, then he'll take one. if not, he wont. im fine with either decision.

  10. In point of fact, anyone who has read or listened to more of Kofman than cherry picked sentences would know that he believes the only that can prevent Ukraine from winning this war would be an abandonment by the West.

  11. I understand the thinking behind #6 being a "free" pick, so we can afford to swing for the fences, I just don't think any of the QBs in this draft are worth doing that for. I'd rather take Carter/Anderson, & then pull the trigger on a guy like Dorian Thompson-Robinson out of UCLA. Also very athletic, good arm, & escapability - especially since it looks like they're gonna sit this year anyways.

  12. I learned not to take seriously everything Sparky says when I sat near the dugout one game and between innings he said I was built like a Greek goddess.

  13. youre going to be so excited when the lions trade up to 3 and so upset when they take anthony richardson.

  14. I would be surprised if the Lions *weren’t* one of those teams. I don’t think the Cardinals are mulling anything. They’re holding out to draft day and hoping the price increases.

  16. As a Kentucky basketball fan living in Nashville, I beg you guys to take Jerry Stackhouse away from Vanderbilt. He coached rings around Coach Cal all three times this year, making chicken salad out of a chicken poop roster. He inherited a complete dumpster fire when he took over a team that lost 19 games in a row, their best two players, and then his best player was hurt. He turned Aaron Nesmith, Saben Lee, and Scottie Pippen, Jr., from no chance prospects into NBA players. Vanderbilt is as hard or harder than Northwestern to get into, and they don't give exceptions for athletes. Stackhouse can flat out coach. Had he had Kentucky's roster, he probably has us in the Final Four. He beat us twice without his top player available, stopping our inside game with no big man playing. Not only did he outcoach Coach Cal, he did the same to Rick Barnes, Bruce Pearl, Eric Musselman, and especially Juwan Howard in the NIT. I'm sure a lot of SEC fans from Kentucky, Tennessee, Auburn, and Arkansas would chip in to contribute to you guys hiring him away from the league, so we can get easy W's over Vandy again.

  18. betrayer must be so happy. if there was a time to make a move, it was now. kenny atkinson would be at the top of any list. i know belien bombed out in cleveland because the players sabotaged him, but the dude can coach. an overlooked assistant might be a good choice. udoka would have to be at the top of any list too.

  26. I am in the waiting room for a car wash—a very good but very slow car wash—and I am stuck in here with a guy who has the sad trombone from Price is Right as his text tone. It’s going off two, three, four times a minute. It is truly depressing.
