This is what a 73 win season looks like. We will have some major offensive droughts or pitching disasters.2 points

I still like Petry the best for TV. Even though he's an "old timer" I think he brings modern ways of thinking to the broadcast and doesn't just rely on "back in my day" like Morris does. Also seems to have the best chemistry with Shep(who for better or worse we're stuck with) and knows when to talk and when to shut up.2 points

I Love Saturday afternoon games. Reminds me of being a kid and pretty much the only time I'd get to watch the Tigers all week. George Kell's "Good Afternoon, Everybody" vibes.2 points

Oh thank goodness they will have room for Canadians too.1 point

Greene and Torkelson with decent swings, Young pitcher did OK. Other than that nothing. I guess in 162 games there will always be days when a team just seems flat altogether as a team, but the Tigers seem to have more of them than they should. There's a skill in baseball in bearing down to be a tough out when you have to - you're not necessarily even tying to do damage, but your're just up there to make the pitcher suffer - do whatever to extend an AB even if you are giving yourself up in the end . You need guys that will do that in a game like this just for the benefit of rest of your lineup. Make the other guy work, change the rhythm, generate a little energy for your bench, make a statement that your team is still here, give your own pitcher a chance to recoup. Tigers don't have anybody that can/will.1 point

I listen to some Iron Maiden or Pantera during the games, so doesn't bother me who the commentators are haha.1 point

Gibson was very good when teamed with Josh Lewin. I did enjoy it even if he was a bit of a jerk on his radio shows with Gary Danielson and Eli Zaret1 point

My problem with Maybin in the booth is that my hearing aids can't handle his high pitched voice. I can only handle it for short periods of time. I wish we could get a radio broadcast up here in the U.P. like in the good old days.1 point

I enjoy Maybin. He does a good job of explaining situations with experience as added content.1 point

Sure... But it was over 8.1% once-upon-a-time. And there are still multiple headwinds against inflation continuing to bring it down. Not as quickly as we would like... but the direction is absolutely in the right... direction.1 point

Too bad the writers strike has shut down late night shows. I’d be interested in Colberts take on CNN give Licht’s history with his own show.1 point

Cam Maybin for TV, Bobby Scales for radio. That's the ideal right there.1 point
-
Maybin's delivery is strained, but his content is good. I think I can get used to him. Some guys like Monroe and Morris just get even worse over time because their content is bad.1 point
-
On the radio you kind of learn to be yourself with the volume/energy turned up just a little bit, but not too much. I think Cam is one of those guys who already has a higher volume than most people and when he ups his delivery like Dan Dickerson does (just a hair) it seems like "Ron Radio". But he's an entertaining speaker and he'll find his spot eventually. Ken Kal is REALLY good at upping his volume just enough. In person he sounds so much different.1 point

I didn’t notice that. I liked him better than C-Mo.1 point

I believe Myers just got off the COVID-IL, and having gone through that last summer, I can confirm the brain fog is real.1 point

Hate is stronger than love sometimes. Now if the Lions can make it to a Super Bowl in the next two or three years, they don’t even have to win it, I think the Leafs would be the undisputed most loserish franchise in pro sports.1 point

Kind of depressing that Detroit sports have been reduced to two points of collective joy: the day the Leafs get eliminated and the day the Yankees get eliminated. I'm okay with it for today. Show Maples Leafs Square, cowards!1 point

Took me forever but I found a stream online. I've been watching the whole 3rd period, but you can blame me too.1 point

The inverse of the Turnbull injury was the Sam Bowen "Detroit? No.. I'm hurt" caper of 1981. On the eve of the players strike of 1981, the Tigers acquired OF Sam Bowen (at AAA Pawtucket) from Boston. Not wanting to go to Detroit to carry a picket sign for no $$...Bowen claimed an injury that allowed him to stay in Pawtucket while earning his meager AAA salary1 point

Yes, IngeFanClub was hilarious. I remember one post where he said his truck brakes were failing badly and he wanted to know if it was OK to drive it to the station and how fast he should go.1 point

I trust that they know what they're doing and I still don't want a pitcher.1 point
