  1. My wife had a biopsy of neck lymph nodes about two weeks ago. We have been on pins and needles. Reults came back benign today!

  2. Mayo has Meyer going 7th to the Reds...seems high for a HS RH..then again, I'm glad Avila is gone because he might have been in play for us at #3

  3. I care about attendance numbers just cause I want the game to grow or atleast not die off so any sign of possible growth is a good thing in my eyes even if it doesn't directly effect me.

  4. IMHO, maybe a combo of things: ex 1) payroll (if worth a raise). 2) Put those funds towards another player (a different dice roll). 3) He had been here for awhile and maybe brass decided best to 'change' (some pressure and perception of change to fans and press as mentioned earlier). 4) Maybe try to change the clubhouse culture as this team has been 'losing' for awhile now. Players get too comfortable sometimes and a 'change' is often needed so a wake-up may take place... Jeimer is a decent player (though streaky), but maybe it was time for a change from both sides. Could always try to resign him later... How does that FIRST resonate with each reader. Maybe that was part of the answer as well on how the team feels.

  5. Well, as we all know by now, Jeimer Candelario is a notoriously streaky hitter whose streaks belie how bad he actually is. Why, if you remove all the games he didn't get hits, he's actually batting .000/.101/.000 in 69 plate appearances, which is way worse than even Maton. So, yeah, we're better off without him.

  6. He had a nice week, good for him. A week ago he was having a really lousy year. If Harris doesn't think he's worth 7 million that's good enough for me.

  7. The sport of horse racing is a pet peeve of mine now. Shut it down. It's barbaric. So many beautiful animals dying. Much more than before. What has changed? What are they giving these animals? What are they doing to them? There is a reason Bob Bafford was supsended. Now he gets to celebrate a victory?

  8. Here is a tidbit I just learned about Miggy that truly delights me: he will retire as the last major leaguer to have played regular season games in Montreal.

  10. Atta boy Vierling! 2 run single to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead. The boys haven't exactly been scalding the ball but the BABIP Gods have been on our side thus far.

  13. Keith has basically a full MLB season in his minor league career. Not exactly a scientific projection, but it is encouraging. Also of note is that he's been younger than his competition.

  18. Yes but those fans have been seeing them 9 times a year for several years so by this point the novelty of seeing them may have worn out a bit. I mean it's certainly still there but not to the extent that it would be to a market that either hasn't seen or rarely sees them. To them this could be the first time they got a chance to see them on a weekend with nice weather so that potential gain should be more than the loss you would see in intra division games.

  19. I would like to know whether the shorter games, as well as rumors that the games are shorter, is behind this. I would guess it has a lot to do with it.

  21. He also was a short timer anyway... even if they tendered him, he would gone after this year regardless in all likelihood. I'm happy he's doing well in Washington but I dont blame them for moving on

  28. I just don't see where somebody like Amen Thompson for instance fits in the Pistons 3 guard offense unless you want to relegate Ivey to the bench. He has defensive lockdown potential but how do you distribute the ballhandling between the 3, does Amen slide over to SF? He'd also be the worst shooter of the group and that's with Cade and Ivey being below average long range shooters. Look at Sacramento, they passed on Ivey for Murray likely for these very reasons and it was a seamless fit that helped improve the team. Unless it's a guy that's surefire BPA like Scoot, and I would have struggled to see the fit with him too, I don't see taking a ballhandler as a priority especially one with a guard mentality. You don't want a guy that's a pure spot up shooter necessarily but I don't think a guy with a primary skill as a ballhandler/playmaker is a fit.

  29. Yeah, I don't know why handle should even matter with the Pistons. In fact, another ballhandler would probably be detrimental to Cade and Ivey's progress if anything. I'm not saying that they should take a pure 3 and D guy, a little playmaking would be nice too, but I see this talk of Amen Thompson, Black and even Scoot before the lottery (three guys that can't shoot btw) and struggle to see the fit unless the plan is to ship out one of Cade or Ivey or stagger their minutes.

  30. The problem is that two minutes later we'll all be complaining: "why are we the "least" athletic team in the league"? Isn't **** just a younger Bojan, in essence? I don't think that will really be true with Ivey and Duren on the court ("least athletic"... not with those two) but I'm just saying. I want fast, athletic, excellent D, and can spot up shoot the 3-Lights Out. I don't care about handle, I don't care about interior creativity. At least a decent passer is probably also a requirement but... I am desperately requesting some 3&D wings at this time. I don't think Livers is enough. Just my 2 cents.
    1 point
  31. No thank you. I also want the "D" part of 3&D. Not just the 3's, and that's it. I want some freaking D on this team (sorry... that's just me or maybe it's not just me... but... where's the "D"?)

  32. Then we can trade for Lonzo and Lamello so we could throw the D*ck and Balls lineup out there.
