things were not as good as it seemed when they were winning and its not as bad as it seems when theyre losing. its the nfl, its a week to week league. houston just lost to the jets by three touchdowns. the niners lost three ganes in a row. the eagles have been blown out two straight weeks. with that said, the lions were never a SB contender, imo. theyre in that happy middle, but towards the top of the middle. 10-11 wins is a good season for where they are. they still need jamo to develop into a star receiver and to get some - ANY - pass rush. this team is going to look very different next year. the okwara brothers will be gone. charles harris will be gone. tracy walker is trending to be gone. they'll need new safeties. they'll need at least one cornerback. maybe 3. and what do you do with goff? to me you dont do anything and you let goff play out next season and hope hooker develops into a viable alternative for 2025. i wouldnt sign goff long term unless hooker shows you nothing. then i would re-sign goff. how long can ragnow play with his foot injuries? do you splash for jonah jackson? how many DEs do you sign? part of me hopes they sign chase young so tater can have something to talk about for next season. 😉

doesnt tellum own part of the team? i doubt he goes anywhere. the best you can hope for is that the pistons stop drafting his son's clients. but all you've wrote is true, tom gores chases big shiny toys because he doesnt actually know anything about basketball or how to run a sports franchise. he likely has no connections in the industry (that's tellum's job). we all know weaver didnt want monty. he wanted kevin ollie. the word is that tellum wanted jason collins. would the team have been better off with either of those guys? who knows, but it couldnt have been any worse! in a way, monty is a troy's plausible deniability ("i didnt want him"). otoh, troy will never get another head job again after this mess. he'll be relegated to scouting and assisting. speaking of him, troy weaver came with the sam presti pedigree and looked like a great hire. and yet....here we are. if gores actually cared - and he might, those VC/hedge fund douches are very competitive - he might feel a bit snake bit.

My point. There’s some stuff that is so egregious it deserves to get called out, in public.

I'm definitely under-qualified to answer this but I don't really think so with the options available. There's no room for him on the Red Wings (I'm sure they would rather have him play more center minutes in the WHL than a fourth/third line winger role in the NHL right now anyways) and even if he were eligible for Grand Rapids this year, Kasper is already stuck as their third line C so not much room there either. Even with subpar teammates I think the idea is to keep him playing a ton of minutes in all situations. It's a shame there isn't a way for him to play top center minutes in Grand Rapids this season but I think this is best for what they can do right now. This gives him some more time in the weight room before going against adults full time as well.

He choked again. Sometimes his 4th down attempts are well timed to put pressure on the opponent. Sometimes they are when he feels pressure. Today's was the latter. It doesn't seem like anyone trusts anyone else right now. Everyone is pressing, and it all goes back to the Baltimore game when they could not do a thing to stop the Ravens. When he has time to throw, he's really good. He just doesn't have the quick feet to escape pressure, or the wheels to take off running. Makes him a little easier to game plan for if you have a defense that can bring pressure

Casey had a ton of problems while the coach here. But I will say this for him. His teams never looked like that. Even towards the end of the year when full tank mode was enabled, they played hard and gave effort.

The importance of it was setting up the 3 camera sitcom, studio audiences, establishing the west coast as a TV industry, and societal things like referencing pregnant women, a hispanic male lead, along with showing repeats, syndication, etc. When pitching the show one of the execs said "Ok but lose the Cuban... the country won't believe a woman like that is married to a Cuban", apprantly ignorant of the fact that... she was married to a Cuban.
