There are 3 kinds of “mistakes”. The first is when the body doesn’t do what the mind wants it to. A bad throw. Dropped pass. Missed putt. Etc. When I hear fans try to downplay the importance of this call by pointing out “well if Goff hits his guy…”. That misses the point. Those are execution errors that’s based on skill level. Both sides are competing hard to win. Sometimes you execute and sometimes you don’t. No amount of practice or prep will deliver 100% results. The players know immediately they messed up. The second kind are judgement calls. Either you didn’t see it or saw something and didn’t feel at that moment it rose to the level, or vice versa. Snap calls made on the spot. Those are somewhat forgivable and there’s replay to help out. this kind of mistake is just a flat out screw up. I don’t even know what to call it. The only analogy I can think of is a baseball manager telling the umpire of a lineup change in the 8th inning then they get called out for batting out of order.2 points

That needs to be reviewable now. The refs need to wear body cams like police do.2 points

Yes it was, mostly, the refs game in the end. They literally called back a potential game deciding play. If you hit a buzzer beater three and the officials call it back on an incorrect decision you don't sit around and think about the missed layup at 4:02 in the 2nd quarter. You rightly recognize the incorrect call by the officials at the end of the game. The same goes here. You can breakdown this game and pass around the pie of blame. But the fact is the refs get the biggest slice of blame because they directly took points off the board, at the end of the game, and potentially, likely, cost us the game.2 points

no son. "making **** up" is you pretending like you know football. i'm telling you the truth. you really do ruin this thread every week. every. single. week. we have a nice little group of posters who like to talk lions. and during the week youre fine, even with your stupid takes on ben johnson. but youre awful in the game threads. you should really dial it back a notch. be like mcs and smoke something before (and after) the game.2 points

YOU RUIN EVERY GAME THREAD! SINGLE HANDEDLY! you are the most annoying poster on this whole board and if you left tomorrow the board would be a better place. you are awarded no points and may satan have mercy on your soul. good night.2 points

we'll wait for the explanation on the last penalty after the game. in hindsight, kick the extra point after the penalty.2 points

Flashbacks to the summer of 69. I think this hire cuts like a knife but here is the good news, its straight from the heart. Everything he does, he does it for you. Can't stop this thing we started.1 point

There's a clip on X of the Cowboys radio broadcast and you can hear the P.A's announcement of 70 on that.1 point

Somehow the Lions lost the game and Derrick Barnes didn't win the award for the biggest screw up of the night.1 point

He was our #1 pick after an excellent college career and looked very good at AA. No reason to block that position by having to overpay, in both years and dollars, for a player who looks to be on the decline. I’d have no problem getting a stopgap solution for 1-2 years, but don’t want another Baez situation. You’re right—no one knows how good Jung will be (or Keith, Jobe, Max Clark, etc), and if we can get a 3B who is proven and doesn’t come with any red flags, I’m all for it. I just don’t think it’s Chapman.1 point

He should At least have humility about his “mistake” which in light of home field official “mistakes “ involving the Cowboys doesn’t really seem likely. Jim Joyce got a lot of credit for admitting he f’d up Gallaraga’s perfect game.1 point

I still want there to be a difference between the 2 leagues. Late last season I looked at the top 10 hitters in the National League, and I didn't know any of their first names. That's how I want it, I don't want to care about the National League.1 point

weird how 70 would report as eligible and then line up in an ineligible position, while 68 never reported but then did line up as eligible. he's a liar. he ****ed up and is covering his ass.1 point

A ref made a mistake and it cost the Lions the game. SONFL1 point

Brad Allen ****ed this up. Zero doubt about it in my mind. The Lions had a designed trick play which worked to perfection. But Brad ****ing Allen ****ed it up. By announcing Skipper instead of Decker.1 point

technically, they have never lost at home... just kidding. to your point, dallas has been destroying everyone at home and averaging 40 points a game (a lot of that via defense), and detroit came in and played them toe to toe. it was a great effort by them, regardless of a potential ref mistake to blow a game winning play.1 point

Lions won in every place but the records book. **** the refs. **** the Cowboys. **** anybody and everybody who doubts this team. I wouldn’t be shocked if they make a run to the Super Bowl after this bull****. Doubt us, I dare you.1 point

My only problem with the 2 point decision was trying a 3rd time. Presumably you’ve already used up your two best play calls by then.1 point

All of their BS specialists I’m sure will come out of the woodwork to say that it was the right call. It wasn’t. The Lions won this game fair and square. Until good ole Jerry Jones NFL referees said they didn’t.1 point

You know what, Brass Balls on Coach. I love it. May not have gotten the win tonight, but he sent the world a message that he's not backing down and I love it. Defense balled out tonight too. You've seen what Dallas has done to other defenses at home this year. Good job. No moral victories, but damn, our coach is biting kneecaps, even in a loss. Good. About time we had that kind of fire around here.1 point

What do Dallas fans know about being the worst in the NFL. They had a decade of good football under Tom Landry before Jimmy was ever even recruiting coke addicts at Miami, let alone coaching in Dallas.1 point

4-point deficit at halftime isn’t horrible, I probably would have taken it before the game, but very weird way of getting there.1 point

Dallas is a very good team and it's on the road. This wasn't going to be an easy game. Now, so far they're playing much worse that I'd expect, but a loss here is sorta what I expected.1 point

This act of yours is tiring...how in anyway can you blame Aaron Glenn for placing the players in place to make a play? He is a below Average DC imo but if the player executed the sack it was an amazing call.1 point
