Hey. The both of you are making any kind of actual discourse in this thread impossible right now. There’s more than 3pages of this bickering. I can’t be the only member here who find this off-putting. How about you both take a step back for an hour or two, and perhaps allow others who might like to make a post …. Without it disappearing into this morass of pettiness. Thank you.6 points

Tomorrow morning is the gag order hearing. And just tonight Trump again made more comments about the jury. This would never be allowable for any other citizen of this country. This man needs to be held in contempt of court, put in handcuffs, and put into jail tomorrow night. this special treatment has got to come to an end. He is in contempt of court, the hell with these stupid monetary fines, …. His ass needs to be in a jail cell.3 points

By the way, I listened to the first podcast by Jason Benetti and Dan Dickerson today and it was really good. I look forward to one every two weeks, which I guess is how they’re going to do it. How Dan got his break when he was subbing along side with Ernie for the last game ever played at Tiger Stadium and he got to do an inning was really cool. It was the first real baseball announcing he ever did and it was good enough to land him a full-time job the next year.2 points

Google maps shows part of the remaining right field wall from Forbes Field about a 15 minute walk from CM. I think home plate is at the entrance to Pitt Law School.2 points

He was also standing in front of the Kane's Furniture advertising when he made that comment so I wonder if he was being extremely sarcastic with his commentary.2 points

I've said this before but I think Stafford could become the Grant Hill of the Lions. A good individual player whose career was spent on a mediocre team that made the playoffs a couple times and was bounced in the first round. He then opted to leave and was traded for a cast off. The cast off comes in and is the foundation for more team success than Grant Hill ever had. Ben Wallace is remembered more fondly even though I would consider Grant Hill a better overall player. I could see Goff having his number retired before Stafford.2 points

... and the corresponding move was to rescue Pedro Garcia and reassign him to extended spring.1 point

I was too young and didn't see the Tigers win the World Series in 1968. I knew Dwight Lowry and Bill Fahey. I was a batboy for the Lakeland Tigers from 1981-1985. Dwight Lowry was our starting catcher in 1982 and Bill Fahey was our field manager in 1984. Dwight and Bill, two very good guys. Easy to get along with.1 point

And the 3000 hit, 500 hrs, 600 doubles thing was just a set of arbitrary categories and cutoffs to make him look better than players like Ted Williams and Willie Mays who were clearly superior to him.1 point

The casual baseball fan who has NO idea of advanced stats may not agree. Many of these casual fans only use the usual stats...batting average, home runs and RBI when looking at player results. And there are a lot of fans who will remember Miggy as a great RBI producer. The same way I remember Wade Boggs as one of the best 2 strike hitters I've ever seen. Can I prove that? No, I'm not that deeply into stats. Many people are and that's fine but I think your under-selling just how good Cabrera was. Using stats, you can probably make your point but I promise you that opposing pitchers didn't care a bit about stats when he came to the plate with runners on base. It was...gulp!! 😁1 point

Here's one for your list...courtesy of Wikipedia...what a write up...🤣 Lynn Ray Boden (born June 5, 1953) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive guard for five seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Detroit Lions (1975–1978) and the Chicago Bears (1979).[1] He played college football at South Dakota State University.[2] He was selected in the first round of the 1975 NFL draft with the 13th overall pick by Detroit.[3] He has 2 children, Eric and Molly. His favorite restaurant is Shucks.1 point

I was reading an article somewhere recently about what would be involved in jailing Trump. Security and what to do about Secret Service protection in a minimum security prison or Club Fed as we used to call it. Just wondering if there are servants quarters at Mar A Largo. Or confine him to a servants room in the Trump Tower. Better yet a trailer near his wife's grave in NJ1 point

One of the requirements for posting on this forum is to act in real life so if the Lions make a draft pick I don't like I have to protest at Allen Park.1 point

I would say yes. Pavel did have moves no-one else did, but the thing that separated Sergei was the combination of strength and speed. It was much harder to out-physical Sergei than Pavel. I think if you could have put Yzerman's competitive fire in Sergei's body you'd have consistently had the best player in the league instead once in a while. Though I'll admit, I think Pavel would probably be a more dominant player than he was playing in today's NHL, where there is a measure less physical intimidation than he had to face in his own era.1 point

At his best Cabrera was at least the equal of Pujols as a hitter. Their top ten oWAR seasons: Miggy 9.1 7.9 7.7 7.0 6.8 5.6 5.4 5.2 5.2 5.2 Pujols 8.6 7.9 7.9 7.5 7.1 6.8 6.7 6.1 6.0 5.7 Miggy’s outsized triple-Crown season was the best between the both of them, but beyond that, Pujols was consistently better. Then, of course, there’s the glove. Pujol’s 2007 was the best defensive season at first base of all time, and by a wide margin (minimum 80% of games played at 1B). No contest.1 point

I wear my watch on the inside of my wrist because in an active situation, it reduces my exposure in a war zone. Time is critical when I plan operations. If my watch face is on the outside of my wrist, I have to lift my arm and turn it to see the time. This effectively doubles the width of my body, increasing my exposure. Either that or I’m just a poser.1 point

Isn’t it ironic that after many seasons of tanking and accumulating numerous high 1st round picks, our best pitcher and hitter (so far) is Skubal (round 9) and Carpenter (19th round). Don’t Cha think?1 point

Each of the 3 have unique qualifications. Gordie is Mr. Hockey and probably revered more in Canada than in Detroit and that’s saying more about Canada because Detroit loves him obviously. It’s just that he and others reach national levels like Ali. Yzerman was the face of the franchise for over a generation. I’d say the only thing putting him over Lidstrom, if you choose to, is his leadership and captaincy. I won’t argue with you. He’s no lower than 3 obviously. Lidstrom is Mr Perfect and I can’t recall any reasonable criticism of him or his play. Won a ton of Norris Trophies and finished second quite a few times. He would have been team captain longer if not for Yzerman’s standing.1 point

I bet in those cases nobody knows how to change the messages. The person who did retired in 2009. They don’t hear it so it’s not on anybody’s radar. in the case of the menu options you that’s just their way to get you to pay attention. What drives me up a wall is when they ask you to verbally speak what your issue is. It infuriates me. What they will hear is “Jesus Christ:..” or “oh dammit not this **** again..” or “what the ****…” followed by me mashing 0 repeatedly.1 point
