  2. Kelly isn't Mike Piazza but in this day and age a catcher with a .740 OPS is nice offensive advantage.

  6. So I am now old enough to seen enough dementia up close that I think I have some level of perspective and here are some things I would say: -there only rule with dementia is that there are no rules. - the patient may understand exactly what is happening and be able to compensate for a long time, or the patient be the last to know and in fact sometimes never comes to awareness of their condition. - I believe Jill Biden is a strong, intelligent woman and I do not believe she would let her husband attempt to serve if he were failing. That said, for all we know she may already be engineering his exit as per Romads supposition, or the two of them may be plotting how to put this behind them - we don't know yet, but certainly will soon enough. - I would also say that your brain may slow down and your down days get tougher, your reaction to drugs and minor illness get more extreme, all without there being any impairment of judgement or dementia involved.

  7. Time clock. A lot of teams that are calling up these young prospects are very competitive (barring Pitsburg with Skenes). But a lot of the other prospects help their team win now and will push for playoffs. Tigers aren't close to being competitive but they need their position players to get their feet wet, ala Malloy, and Keith.... No need to start Jobes clock.

  9. This is her at the Oscars last year. I dont think she looks like an old hag at all. Her hair is white because that's what most often happens to women as they older and she quit dying it. Yeah she has wrinkles. That happens too to women, and men. Annette Bening is the same age and this is a recent photo. I just think there's a shock when we are used to seeing actresses as younger versions and then suddenly they hit that post 60 phase and things look different.

  10. I don't know where you are going with this. MB has already given you the black and white chapter and verse. Presidents *always* go to Walter Reed for an annual - it's pretty much tradition over decades if nothing else (well maybe all except Trump who didn't want his being subject to any official view) https://www.audacy.com/connectingvets/articles/walter-reed-why-do-presidents-go-to-a-military-hospital

Bert is wearing a seersucker suit, a straw boater resting an a very sweaty forehead. The temperature in Idaho is well above normal summer in the Pacific Northwest/Mountain region. He dabs his forehead with his pocket square and declares the heat "intolerable" and the MLB app "i pay the MLBtv in love and they repay me in the basest coin, pity."

  19. In addition to the perceived depth of the draft class, MLB clubs are starting to adjust to the impacts of NIL on their draft strategies. In year's past you could keep a guy from campus with a $500k bonus or if you pop a guy early and give him $1M, it was a no brainer he was signing. Now, with the amount some of these high caliber prep players can get in NIL over three years on campus, combined with the length of time it takes them to make real money on an annual basis coming through the MiLB/MLB rabks, the calculus has shifted and those players can no longer be bought out of college for the sums of past. That factors in heavily in terms of who is available later that you may be able to spend bonus savings to sign over slot

  23. Because the "elites" told them that Biden was the candidate, and these party elites made a full-court press to keep the young blood out of the primary to avoid damaging the incumbent. You have to be smart enough to see that happened. Please don't gaslight us anymore with this stuff about how nobody did the necessary back in the primary season. The facts are the facts. Biden is polling poorly considering how bad Trump is.

  24. It's unbelievable that we have arrived at a point where you see a quote from a presidential candidate and if you didn't know the names your first assumption would have to be that it was something George Wallace said in 1968. This is so totally sick racism that any decent person should find it revolting. I know it doesn't help anything to call out Trump supporters who lap this up as being scum, sure - they love their kids too, but they sure have developed one helluva case of amnesia regarding basic right and wrong.

  28. I was traveling through cornfield Ohio and barely getting reception on the play-by-play via the MLB app. This play in particular was slow to come across my mobular telephone. I thought we were in a dead zone, not enough deer antlers to help carry the signal. But, alas, it was only because some poor intern had to type a bible's worth of action into one single play. That poor kid probably has ice on his fingers today, and might be hitting the IL before lunch.

  29. Yes. Rogers threw to third too soon. Before the runner was retreating. One throw holds the hitter on first. Rogers wasn’t his usual self defensively today

  30. Well, too many throws. For me, it takes an act of congress to get the girl to follow the runner to the next base. The fact that Vierling had plus speed helped end the thing.

  33. Turns out Faedo and Foley were the only two fresh relievers coming into the game. Maybe Fetter saw something before the game that made him think Faedo was going to be sharper than Foley. Who knows. I'm at least 93% confident that A.J. Hinch wasn't trying to lose the game.

  36. I can see sending a runner if they have a chance of scoring with 2 outs but I've seen Cora send many runners this season who were dead ducks. If the only chance to score is if the defense doesn't execute fundamentals, especially against 1st place teams, they shouldn't try it.

  39. Enjoyed the presser, Bickerstaff had a good energy and went into details about the players and certain strategies. Monty didn't seem to know much about the team and he went on about how the money was too good to pass up, it doesn't mean much if Bickerstaff can't coach but it was a good first impression at least. Late comment on the Reed signing. I really like it, the Pistons badly needed another big and this one actually plays defense and is young enough to maybe have a little more offensive upside.

  40. *Sigh* Here is the visitor log: https://www.whitehouse.gov/disclosures/visitor-logs/ Here is a Google calendar of Biden's schedule: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/embed?src=cantymedia.com_62fqfmv1eejqs9hntbr6hof5kc@group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America/New_York&pli=1 The Neuro's name is Kevin Cannard. You can see he visited the White House on January 17th. He visited Dr O'Connor who is Biden's doctor. Biden's physical was released in February. This is likely when Biden met with him. Per his calendar, he was at the White House. Dr Cannard was also at the White House on January 26th. Biden was at the White house. Maybe he met him a second time but Cannard met with Megan Nasworthy, liaison between the White House and Walter Reed. Dr Cannard visited the White House on March 28th with Megan Nasworthy. Biden was in New York. Dr Cannard visited the White House on November 17th with Megan Nasworthy. Biden was in San Francisco. Dr Cannard visited the White House on October 3rd with Megan Nasworthy. Biden was in the White House. Dr Cannard visited the White House on August 25th with Megan Nasworthy. Biden was in Nevada. Dr Cannard visited the White House on July 28th with Megan Nasworthy. Biden was in Maine. Dr Cannard visited the White House on November 15th with Dr Joshua Simmons. Biden was in Indonesia. Of the 8 times the Neuro visited the White House, Biden was there 3 times. We know one for certain was likely January 17th. Maybe the visit 9 days later was related. The whole speculation about Biden having Parkinson's was because a Neuro who specializes in Parkinson's visited the White House 8 times but Biden wasn't even there most of the time. There is absolutely no evidence he has Parkinson's and a well respected doctor said he doesn't.

  41. I don't know why you think it strange that a lot of people are employed at the White House, and a lot of them are at pay grades where it's a lot more efficient to bring personal services to them occasionally rather than to have them schlepping around a half gridlocked DC, especially since some of what is going on here is mandated by the West Wing admin.

  43. Teams think they can get Skubal because of the contract he'll be getting. In 2 years. Seriously, if he's a free agent in 2027, we have his services for 2 more seasons. Do Tiger fans see us contending in the next 2 seasons? Trading him at the trade deadline in '26 won't bring as big of a return as right now. We could build a team around players he's dealt for. Maybe actually be serious contenders that much sooner. I hate to say or see it but a case can be made for trading him. At least listen to the best offers and see what's even offered for him. But any returns have to be MLB ready players, not prospects that flame out in 2 years. Quality over quantity.
