I think I would rather have Matt Vierling on the team than Gregory Soto.4 points

MLB’s worst nightmare would be Tigers v Royals in the ALCS. Let’s hope it happens.4 points

If the Tigers were to advance and happened to beat NYY with the pitch chaos theory, MLB will change the rules immediately. I don’t think Vogt is the type to complain about it but you just know it’s burning up some people in the league.1 point

It would be rather poetic to make the World Series by knocking off all three AL division winners.1 point

I have used the word "diaspora" multiple times on MTF today...weird.1 point

I've been spending the last hour running analytics. After double and triple checking my math, I can confidently predict that if the Tigers pitching staff does not give up another run for the rest of the playoffs, they will win the World Series.1 point

Tork and Keith get their first playoff hits. And in the same inning, to score our 3rd run. That takes the pressure off of them, big games for them tomorrow.1 point

Guardians haven't scored since the 6th inning of game 1.1 point

Meadows is just so good in center. Peak Austin Jackson was really really good but Meadows may be even better than him.1 point

Montero has pitched well against Cleveland this year. Only given up 4 hits struck out 7 and walked 1 in 27 at bats. He also really settled down game 1. My guess is they will let him go as long as possible until any sign of trouble or breakdown in stuff and then a quick hook.1 point

I'll never understand this. The guy didn't choose to get injured. He doesn't seem to have created problems in the locker room either, since his teammates seems like they were overjoyed to see him. Is he supposed to get shunned forever because his body broke down when he was making too much money?1 point

I saw him pitch in the '72 division clinching game. It was the game Eddie Brinkman dropped an F bomb on the live news broadcast. We used to imitate his wind-up too. It was....unique. 😆 https://www.baseball-almanac.com/box-scores/boxscore.php?boxid=197210030DET1 point

It occurs to me that I would pay a fairly substantial additional fee on my MLB.tv package if, instead of being subjected to watching commercials in between innings and during pitching changes, I could get a behind-the-plate camera shot of the field so I could just watch the activity taking place on it while waiting for play to resume. That might be worth $25 a year extra for me.1 point

Folks have been decrying the debt since the Revolutionary War. Meanwhile a lot of folks have made a killing because of the debt.1 point

For the last nine years prior to my parent death this year, this was my single biggest issue. Now, I worry about what might happen to me in my old age. I have taken good care of myself and also saved my money, but you never knw what can happen and elder healthcare can wipe out svings really fast. Having Mdicare pay for at leat part of home healtcare would be huge.1 point

Right, you can't clearly see the glove under the ball. The odds of him getting the glove fully under the ball to the exact millimeter without the ball touching the grass, but you being unable to see any part of the glove under the ball when it bounces is so small. The overwhelmingly likely reason you can't see the glove under the entire ball is because the ball blocks the view of his glove when it hit the ground.1 point

A lot of us were at that game, but I think the number of folks to have been at that one plus last night’s game are few and far between. Pretty cool for you. Not surprisingly, that game/moment is being compared to last night by the local radio team and their callers this morning. It’s perfect radio fodder, because I really do think it’s a close call if you were forced to rank them. A home run in the ALCS to clinch a World Series spot carries a lot of weight. But it was also in the bottom of the ninth where a single would also have been enough. And the tigers were leading the series 3-0 at the time. Without it, worst case is a 3-1 series lead. Kerry’s 3-run shot in the top of the 9th effectively sealed the game and a 1-1 series. But it’s still only the ALDS. A single would have given a 1-0 lead, and still left the result up in the air. Without it, worst case is a 0-2 series and season on life support. Hard to say!1 point
