  1. Nope, and this one is actually 4 days for me because Monday is a day off too. Tonight, I got a pizza, saw the northern lights in person for the first time and watched the Tigers.

  2. This has been another great game that I haven’t enjoyed a single minute of.

  3. This is drop dead, one of the coolest things I’ve seen. This brings me such great joy. Many many years ago I drove my daughter who’s now 33 to Portland to see the White Stripes. It’s over an 8 Hour drive so she was serious about seeing “her first concert.“ I had overheard her playing The White Stripes in her room and I thought they were kind of like Led Zeppelin Lite. I didn’t listen very closely. But when I saw Jack and his sister on stage and they made as much music as six people, I couldn’t believe it. It was operatic, just amazing, an epiphany. Yeah, people who can do stuff like that are Tigers fans!

  6. They got beat because at crucial times they tossed big melons right down the middle of the strike zone. And they should have walked Ramírez, especially with a L/L matchup coming up next. He smoked it. Probably against baseball Hoyle, but he ain't gonna beat me. Old school stuff. I look forward to Saturday, and watching Skubal. No matter what happens, what a run, what a story. Still reminds me of the 1980 Olympic hockey team. Incredible stuff. Thank you!

  11. THIS IS HOW you message against Trump towards working class people. Love what Walz had to say here.

  12. Maybe Carp can be ready enough to hobble up to the plate as a pinch hitter like Kirk Gibson for an unforgettable 9th inning home run.

  13. More from last night's Obama appearance. Dems need to hammer this home. My feeling has long been that a certain percentage of men are afraid of women leaders. I'm married to a strong intelligent woman and over the past 45 plus years have watched how she's been passed over for several promotions because of the "Boys Club" in her industry. And with a woman of color it's probably more prominent

  14. We've got Skubal on Saturday. I mean, that's who you want. This team can't possibly break my heart at this point. This is all just gravy. No matter what happens Saturday you have to call this a massively successful season.

  16. I thought that with the Lions. Hey, we made the playoffs. That's an improvement, no matter what happens. Nope! We're here. I want to win. Too hard to get here. Thankful TP isn't a Tigers fan.

  17. I was just gonna say, we’ve given them lots of looks at Holton, Olson and Brieske.

  18. I heard they moved the game to 1. Is it still ok to have Malloy DH?

  19. This run after the trade deadline so vastly exceeds anything I ever dreamt possible that for me it’s our version of Hannibal successfully crossing the Alps into Italy. And hey, he didn’t defeat Rome, and we might not make it far enough to defeat our Rome either, but what we’ve witnessed this year is historic. GO TIGERS!

  21. Don't worry. Playing the Yankees will give us all the prime time and Bob Costas you can handle.

  22. We go to Yates. For 20 years we went to a new place every year. We finally settled on that one. It's far enough away from us to feel like a road trip and we love the trail along the Clinton River that you can walk on.

  24. Liranzo will start I assume at Erie; he will just 21; he has played in 2 of 3 AFL games, both as C; if he can stay there, what a bonus

  27. It would have been great to see them close out the series tonight, but I've got three days off from Friday to Sunday. After missing half the post-season due to work, I am looking forward to watching Skubal.

  28. I don’t really think I’m old, but my body and the people around me disagree. I’m still an innocent eight-year-old at heart who in 1960 placed a ruler on a map and Detroit was 1/32 of an inch closer to my town in Indiana than Chicago so I’m a Tigers fan instead of a White Sox fan. I googled my old address a couple years ago and discovered, however, that old Comiskey Park was actually 1/3 of a mile closer to my front doorstep. So there are benefits to being old. I can’t imagine a world without the Tigers in my life.

  29. Yep, 7 outs away from the ALCS is as close as they might be for the next few years, even if they keep getting better. Look at Baltimore. I will be very disappointed if they lose Saturday. The season will have been a success, but I’ve allowed my expectations - or at least my hopes - to rise.
