You might be surprised to learn this, but my game day experience is highly dependent on watching everything in real time. The best part of football games are the game threads and the texting with my buddies (we have a group chat of 8 of us). Michigan and Lions games is like 70% of our yearly traffic. Without this message board or my buddies and messaging in real time I’m not sure how I could even watch the game. It’s the interaction with others that is enjoyable during the games. The games themselves are miserable experiences filled with anxiety and high blood pressure. The chatting is awesome and then a win means you get to consume hours of postgame content about your team winning.3 points

I find it insulting to do someone's job for 15 minutes and say we're the same.2 points

In all seriousness, I blame The Apprentice. He should have had a show called something along the lines of "4 Bankruptcies and Counting." I'm too lazy to look up the exact number right now.2 points

Why does everyone act like anything Trump does is good? He looked like a clown.2 points

This is not magic! This is what is wrong with the game. Total BS that he’s gaming the rules the league created for the sole purpose of protecting him. This play needs to banned immediately in the same way as the fake slide.2 points

An SF defensive back needed to lay him out at the tail end of the run. It sounds bad and would start a fight, but that’s what he’s asking for running like that. I don’t think there’s a way to write this out of the rules. The boundary lines are what they are. Just need to let him get smoked at the edge of the boundary and not have it be a penalty. He’s a runner, he’ll be treated like one. And also a note for Adam Schefter - the “Magic of Mahomes” this year has more picks than TDs through seven weeks. Tied for the league lead in interceptions.1 point

I don’t know, I think a lot of people are going to find this charming. Not sure it gets him many votes, but I don’t think it’ll lose him any.1 point

Watching the highlights on Youtube... and I'm reminded of just how much I HATE that Viking horn whenever the Vikings have a good play. And I think the reason I hate it so much is that I think I'd love it that much if I was a Vikings fan. It's a cool sound effect that fits with their team so yeah... I'd love it if I was a Vikings fan... hate it as a Lions fan.1 point

Sorry my message was probably confusing. What I meant to say is SF had a small window and we don't. We have a young team and a lot of those players will be with us for a while.1 point

Unhinged? No my friend... DVR is the best thing to happen to football since the forward pass. I get an hour of my day back and I don't have to watch ads? Sign me up. Also after the other team gets a lucky play in and goes for a TD...? You know that part where the announcers gush over how wonderful the play was and how they schooled the Lions and replay it 3 or 4 times? Yeah, I get to fast forward over that too.1 point

Time to see if that story line about the Lions physically beating up teams holds true.1 point

Let's see if I get this straight.... he works 15 minutes at a McDs that's closed for the occasion... and uses it to mock Harris's experience working there years ago? Sad part is it will probably work in his favor.1 point

I have. Deaf ears. Jason Martinez, roster resource, got back and fixed the fangraphs page after he confirmed they were under 3.1 point

I personally did NOT like that. I thought it was dangerous and the very next play showed why. This is slightly like the last season when the Saints did a "victory formation" but then ran a real play so Williams could get a TD. Obviously less egregious, but still in the same ballpark. "Victory formation" is supposed to signal to the defense that you giving up the play to run out clock so no one needs to play hard and risk injury. The offense is conceding the play, and defense agrees to not try to hurt anyone. But then Goff sits there for a couple of seconds running more time off. What happens the next play? The defense lunges hard at the Lions even though they're back in "victory formation." If someone got hurt there it would have been the Lions fault imho.1 point

Justin Jefferson against the Lions the last four years: 2021 Game 1: 7/124 2021 Game 2: 11/182 2022 Game 1: 3/14 2022 Game 2: 11/223 2023 Game 1: 6/141 2023 Game 2: 12/192 2024 Game 1: 7/81 With the exception of that early 2022 game (also the last time we lost to the Vikings), he's been a Lion killer. Excellent work by the secondary to limit him.1 point

Raise your hand if you thought the Lions would take the lead less than halfway into the second quarter after the horrific S.O.L. start they had. Now lower your hand, because you’re lying.1 point

Alonso is 29 and a fraction of the player Soto is. Alonso does not expect 12 year contract. I think he will get 6 or 7, and I don't have confidence he will age well. Soto is only 25. He will get much, much more1 point
