  1. From the Department of The Story That Just Wouldn't Die Already: In a bid to not repeat the hubristic mistake I made a couple weeks ago with the Fox News debacle (insert joke of choice here), this time I waited for the segment to actually air before sharing it here. This three-minute interview ran on the NewsNation cable network this morning on their Morning in America program. Despite appearances, Markie Martin is not grilling me relentlessly in this thumbnail, and I am not recoiling in horror for being Dunning-Krugered. You may not care about me or the story one way or other, but I hope you at least respect that I'm properly representin' here.

  2. Transgender athletes competing in womens sports is sometimes a safety issue which is a valid reason to address it. However, transgender people don't participate in womens sports because they are unhappy with the size of their dicks. Males generally choose to become transgender because they actually feel as if they are females in every aspect of their lives, not just sports This makes their lives very difficult as they are typically ostracized by society. Transgender people suffer more from their gender indentity confusion than people who are uncomfortable with transgender.

  4. Carter's activism and community work post presidency cemented his legacy. I fear we will not see anyone in public office again who exemplifies what it truly means to have Christian values.

  5. I’ve spent a lot of time watching coverage and have to give credit to Fox for playing it straight. It’s been solid coverage and no bull**** or caveats. he might be the last president that dies where most people will say only nice things.

  6. 2022 statistic - ncaa female athletes approximately 290,000. Number of transgender athletes - 40. 40/290,000=0.000138. Just as a personal belief, I do think that for most sports, I don’t believe a transgender athlete competing in women’s sports is fair & equitable… but there are some sports where I don’t see that argument having actual merit. However, crying, hair-pulling , and gnashing of teeth over 40 athletes out of 500,000 nationally is ludicrous/ laughable/ inane.

  7. I think they want 2B free for Lee or McGonigle in ‘26. Or even Jung.

  8. Something tells me that the same party that has frequently advocated for radically changing or even ending of Title IX may not be the most trustworthy advocate for women athletes

  9. I'm sure most of you saw this in the news. I'm gonna start a thread because I was 8 when he joined Detroit and even though the Tigers were terrible, I was fully into being fanatical by that time. Guys like Vern Ruhle, Tommy Veryzer, Leon Roberts, Milt May, Aurelio, Freehan, Dan Meyer.......all meant a lot to me. And Gary was a big part of that gang. RIP Mr Sutherland

  11. Exactly. What's the difference. You take guys out of certain positions you leave other guys vulnerable for injuries from missed blocks and tackles. This team has one speed and they don't let up. That's what they do and they probably shouldn't stop it because you can't stop a runaway train and if you do, you can't get it up to speed fast enough for this postseason. It's all-out all the time. They want revenge tonight.

  17. No, I was wrong. If the Lions lose tonight and tie the Vikings game, the Vikings win the division. Doh!!! Again...wrong. Tim Twentyman has it right;

  18. Jordan Love said his receivers need to do a better job of winning one on ones. He took some blame himself, but subtly throwing teammates under the bus is a hallmark of Aaron Rodgers. The kid learned well.

  20. Kim is also a strong fielder, although his health makes him a question mark. Having Torres at second, Jung/Vierling at third and Keith playing a new position wouldn't give me a lot of confidence in their infield defense.

  22. Observation on the Fed rate cuts. I'm looking at the 10 year yield, which some say follow housing interest rates. Not sure how true that is, but nevertheless, an indication of how well the Fed is doing. Depending on what, exactly, they are trying to do, which might be different than what they say they are trying to do. I like to call it Fedspeak. A 9 month chart. Looks like the 50 bps cut was priced in, the second did its job for a while (going with the assumption they were trying to lower interest rates - what part of the curve I don't know), but then went back up, so they cut again in Dec. Still going the wrong way as we speak, and almost back to where it started 9 months ago. Funny that...

  25. THJ in his last 17 games. This is since he came back from his concussion. It's ugly. I get that Thompson is no Kelly Tripucka. But I doubt he would put up worse numbers and his defense is light years ahead of THJ.

  28. So since the Niners game is meaningless I'd be resting some guys. They should treat it like a second bye week. The Lions depth is already thin as is on defense so it would be foolish to play everybody.

  30. Each side in the Torres deal is using the other as a partner of convenience. He has no intention of being here in '26, the Tigers no intention of paying him what he is going to want if he does have a successful '25. Keith's tenure at 1st could be a short one.
