When the President's first inclination after this incident was to take to his personal social media website, not express any empathy and throw the Blackhawk helicopter pilot and traffic controllers in front of the bus before there's been a single second dedicated to investigating what happened.... forgive me if I don't find some folks' complaints about "politicizing" to be serious.

That was the most shameful thing I’ve ever seen in my life. And then his new FAA person, and then Hegseth, go to the podium, and the first thing they do is lather up their leader, thanking him for his fantastic leadership. It was absolutely sickening. And for sure, whoever the traffic control agent was, if he is NOT white and male, they are going to tar and feather him and dragged him through the streets because evidently diversity is the reason this crash happened according to Trump. I don't know if this plane crash is a result of that, but deliberately causing chaos all over federal government is almost certainly going to cause disasters. People don't understand the many important roles that federal employees play. It's not just a bunch of lazy bureaucrats.

I remember last year when there was a devastating hurricane that ravaged the southeast and North Carolina in particular and Trump immediately politicized it after people died and then Tigeraholic1 still voted for him. Sick!

Remember when East Palestine was immediately politicized and blamed on Buttigieg? Remember when Trump, who was a private citizen, raced to East Palestine for a photo op?

confirmation hearings are a total waste of time - the appointees just lie through their teeth. Until a Congress is willing to impeach or judge or cabinet officer for having lied at a confirmation, it will just continue to get worse. There is no accountability.

The plane crash is the first of many disasters that will be attributable to the crap this admin is pulling on federal workers.

You might be right, although I will sense the Tigers are going in a direction similar to Tampa when they actually go in a direction similar to Tampa. We’re not the only team not signing Bregman. The Red Sox, Blue Jays, and Cubs, all of whom are in need of a third baseman, have also not signed Bregman. Only the Astros have a live offer for Bregman at 6/156, so for us to sign him, we would have to substantially beat that offer in, I assume, guaranteed money and possible more years—if he even wants any years here. Not sure where you stand, but I would not want to commit to Bregman for six or more years, and I would think none of the other teams outside of Astros are eager to, either. As for Flaherty, his track record makes him too risky that he’ll either be hurt or just flat out suck (a la 2023). Plus, his lipping off publicly by essentially blaming Harris for costing the Tigers the ALCS by trading him this past July can’t help his case to re-sign here.

If you take their worst stat and completely ignore their pitching, defense and baserunning, things do look bleak. Their wRC+ wasn't great but was better than their OBP.

Call me crazy. I hope Lions trade out of the 1st round. Get as many 2nd/3rds as possible. I trust Brad. Run it with Smith/Hutch this year and if you get a guy in the 2nd or 3rd that compliments them, more power to em. I just think we need to get younger at the O-line and we need depth all over.
