Yes putting Vierling in CF. He was the main CF after Meadows was sent down last year. It's the position he's played the most innings at in his career.2 points

Almost glad to see people remember that yesterday still brought 10% tariffs on all countries. Plus, we still have massive tariffs on our 3rd biggest trading partner.2 points

She is triangulating. The Dems have to come to terms with the fact that a lot of people voted for Trump and if you start out by invalidating the opinion of all those people, you create a hole for yourself you don't need to.2 points

I'm at his peril regardless, but he's a moron. At no point in the last 40+ years has he not been a moron.1 point

Stop speculating on the big names It's pointless. Yzerman won't go for those. He's going to do the same thing he's been doing the last 3 years. Mid-Level veterans, holding onto or acquiring draft picks. Yawn. This plan is going nowhere. The easiest sport to make the playoffs and it's 9 years now. It's a complete failure. Make Yzerman President and hire a new GM and give them real GM powers. Like the Harris role with the Tigers. That way you didn't fire the sentimental fan favorite. And what the hell happened to Dylan Larkin at the 4-Nations tournament? Not the same guy. Nor was Raymond. Now you start getting into the Wasting Careers territory.1 point

When was the last time Trump called someone a “hard worker and a very good person” and they actually were? Everyone he praises like that is a slimy, maga bootlicker. Words like this from Trump are only reserved for those that are on his team. If she’s really still fighting him, this would mark the first time in history that he’s spoke glowingly about someone that is vigorously against him.1 point

Oh I know. I don’t actually want Clark up until late 2026 at the earliest. I just don’t want us to give any more ABs to Baddoo that badly.1 point

Yeah, they seem to be more interested in draft picks than service time manipulation. I like that.1 point

they should be open to trading picks (and players) for finished talent this year.1 point

I wonder how many Republican Congresswomen Wii be affected, or are they exempt. Marjory Taylor-Greene, for example, does that match her birth certificate? Is she even eligible to serve?1 point

He won't be back this year unless the Pistons go very deep in the playoffs but it's still a good sign of progress that he's cleared this soon. On another note, the Western Conference race is bonkers. Before the games last night, 5 teams were tied with the same exact record. There are going to be two championship contenders dropped to the 7-8 seed. The west continues to be the far better conference for what feels like the last 20 years.1 point

I’d rather just call up Clark if we are arguing over Baddoo coming back or not1 point

The "continued progression of court work" means that he's not yet cleared for full 5-on-5 play and likely that's several weeks away. I still don't expect to see him this year.1 point

Det has been winning back to the end of 2023, when they went 29-21 to close out that season. 122-102 in their last 224 games, a .545 clip. I'm confident they will make the playoffs again this year, barring major injuries of course.1 point

This is part of politics in DC. She put herself in a position to be exploited so it’s on her when she gets used for a nice press moment by Dear Leader. This never happens if she’s not there kissing ass.1 point

Fun show. I find myself having a hard time believing these people would ascend this high in a studio with how they act but then I think back to the bosses I've had in the industry and I guess it tracks.1 point

From the look on her face and posture it seems to me she was unaware of the announcement Trump was making at the time. I think she was ambushed. Especially considering that she was in DC to address bipartisan cooperation to strengthen American manufacturing and to discuss specific tariff issues related to the Michigan auto industry. Yes, she should have probably know better considering her past interactions with the Gangster President1 point

I wrote it as a statement then added a question because I was confused if I was addressing the right thing. Baddoo is off the 40, so adding him would mean you need to make a 40 man move. That is why Hicklen got the call over Jones or Gamel.1 point

Whitmer is trying to prevent a man-made catastrophe in the state. She has a responsibility to represent her people. I agree she should show backbone and not be part of unconstitutional displays like the Executive Order but, the mad king aspect is part and parcel of the catastrophe she is trying to avoid. I wouldn't want her groveling just as I wouldn't want her playing footsie with the PRC over the battery plant. She was trying to serve her citizens. I think she has to navigate the news about this carefully so she isn't identified as some sort of Dem ally of the mad king.1 point

Just to flesh out my thoughts a little more on my response to G2 above, Democratic voters themselves matter a lot in being a viable Presidential contender. And I reject the idea that the only way that a Democratic candidate can make themselves an appealing alternative, especially in a moment like this where Trump has seen his approval rating go underwater over the course of the first 80 days of his Presidency, is to sound equivocating and to put themselves in the position that she found herself today. At the very least, Whitmer is misreading the moment here quite a bit.... Tater and I approach politics from different places ideologically, but this moment is less about ideology and more about the willingness to push back and fight or run for cover. It's been clarifying to see how some prospective candidates have handled things (Pritzker, Walz, even Shapiro) have handled things versus other prospective candidates (Newsom, Whitmer) I'll leave the debate about whether it was helpful to Michiganders or not to people who actually live in Michigan, I don't have a dog in that right. But in regards to 2028, to the extent that she's running (she may not be), I don't know that having this sort of fundamental disconnect with the base of the party exudes strength as a candidate. As someone who will vote in the D primary in 2028, it makes me question her political instincts.1 point

I’m not bothered at all by what Whitmer did today. She’s doing her job for her constituents. Our state is particularly affected due to the autos. Just like I wasn’t bothered when Chris Christie was with a Obama right before the 2012 election. Republicans bashed him for it.1 point

All the Bourne movies premiered in Boise, Idaho, where I live because the producer’s wife is from Boise and was active in local theater for years before she married him. So they all premier here with all proceeds being a fundraiser for local theater. For the fourth Bourne movie, which sucked, my son who was quite young and short at the time, ducked under a barricade and ran up to get a selfie with Matt Damon and Damon‘s people tried to stop him, but Damon was wonderful and let Mason take the picture with him. I think the Ultimatum is one of the most exciting movies I’ve ever seen. I didn’t see the premiere at the local Egyptian theater, but I did see the film that week during its premier and I gasped so many times.1 point

That’s not cynicism. You and I both know it’s the truth. It is the actual plan. And God dammit it. It’s working.0 points
