  1. Just got back home from the game. That was a fun one.

  2. The ban of Pete Rose was not about punishing Pete Rose. It was about maintaining the integrity of the game. It shouldn't matter whether he's dead or alive. I do think that this was inevitable though given that MLB is now so in bed with gamblers that every broadcast is a game-long advertisement for gambling companies.

  3. Walking off the Red Sox. Does it get any sweeter? Well, yeah...Walking them off two nights in a row. Some people might think that walking off the Yankees would be sweeter, and I respect that. But for me, oh it's so so sweet to do it to the Red Sox. Oh baby.

  4. The constant gambling promotion and the insane numbers of in game interviews saturated with plugola are making the broadcasts unwatchable.

  11. Kansas City is the perfect example of why MLB needs a salary cap. The Royals won the World Series in 2015, because they drafted and developed well, but couldn't keep the team in tact. The Kansas City Chiefs are a near dynasty because they have good coaching, draft well, and have the best player in the league. If this were MLB, Mahomes would get an Ohtani like contract from New York or Los Angeles. The Jets have the longest active playoff drought in the NFL, and Los Angeles went 20 years without a team and the league thrived. There's a whole world outside of New York and Los Angeles and the NFL is the most popular sport because a team in Green Bay Wisconsin has equal opportunity as New York City.

  12. Would be cool if they could do a deal like that but make it HEAVILY front loaded so if something does go sideways and he doesn’t age well, it won’t be a boat anchor to work with the last half of the deal. Would also be nice if there was a workaround where the player wouldn’t be gouged with taxes on the front side of the deal also……

  13. I feel bad for Quinton Byfield. He's only 22 so he'll likely be sent down to the AHL affiliate for some more seasoning until he's 24 or asked to sit in the press box. After all, this is a men's league and kid's aren't the answer.

  14. The AL Central division leads all of baseball with 116 wins. You would think that the NL West would be the leader, but Colorado’s mere seven wins is the problem and the West has only 110.

  16. '68 Tigers out homered the next best HR hitting ateam in the league by 40%, and were the highest total scoring team in the AL, so with scoring being low to begin with, that long ball advantage did play very well late in games. Funny thing for that era was that they where a poor BA club. But oddly enough, they walked a lot and combined with hitting the long ball they led the league in -- you guessed it - OPS! And we could have felt good about that instead of obsessing about the teams poor BA - that is if anyone in '68 had had a clue what OPS was.....

  17. Too bad we won't be going back to Colorado. That high was much more even. The division has played 700 ball for 50 games - 35-15 and that includes the White Sox 5 - 5.

  22. love the celtics going small and putting holliday or white on kat. spread em out and drive. they put the knicks in the bonus with 10 minutes left in the game. not by standing around and watching tatum and brown shooting fade away 3s, but with cutting and movement to the basket.

  43. I don't think they will but I'm not losing sleep over it. Giving him that kind of contract at age 30 is just too risky in this market. If they still have the pitching lab, I'm confident they can develop and find pitching in bulk.

  44. Skubal is making over $10 million this year and he'll get a significant raise next year. He's already set for life so why not go for the biggest payout in two years? No I don't think the Tigers will be the team who signs him and I don't think they should.
