The international criminal court is likely going to want to look at this when all is said and done.2 points

After Biden's performance in the debate, I think there was no way he was going to win. That was a stunningly bad performance. I know Trump's debates are always a joke, but it doesn't matter with him. America loves a loud mouth bumbling idiot.2 points

I believe in humanity and have empathy, so even if he’s committed the things that he’s been accused of the cruel punishment doesn’t fit the crime. To not give a crap what happens to him is wrong.1 point

I only just noticed the line "Welcome to CECOT. Whoever enters here doesn't leave." The first prisoners at Auschwitz were told the only way out is through the chimney. Seems oddly similar.1 point

I am too young to remember pre-70s TSN, but it was still great in the 70s. They did start covering every sport at some point in the 70s, but they still covered every MLB team every week and still had all the box scores and stats every week which was a big deal at the time. It really started to go downhill in the 80s.1 point

People are weird. They will crap on the person who made billions by building a business. Then turn around and worship a family whose mom pimped out her daughter's sex tape.1 point

Beautifully put. This Tigers organization is like no other Tigers org in my lifetime. It is everything I have wanted to see in this team for at least the least quarter century. I’m glad I’ve lived long enough to see it.1 point

Same here, but it’s not worth it. My parents are worried about my disabled sister losing her Medicare.1 point

If this is Kahnle's numbers correcting themselves I guess I'd rather have it all happen at once then have it over the course of several games, in that scenario it could cost us multiple games instead of just this one.1 point

New month, same rant. It’s so misleading to refer to this as our unemployment rate. They are preliminary, unadjusted, employment numbers from June. We will get a more accurate picture on what the numbers really should be next month and won’t know the actual number until next February due to our antiquated and easily manipulated survey system from BLS. Side note, this is terrible news for Dear Leader’s calls for a Fed Rate cut.1 point

Looks like in 1961 the Tigers had Bunning, Cash, Colavito and Kaline all starting one of the AS games. In fact, the three Tigers batted 1-2-3 in the lineup that game. Colavito's HR provided the AL only run and Kaline had 2 of the 4 AL hits.1 point

I personally have no loyalty to either party. I have been voting Democrat only because there is no other choice. In the past, there have been local elections where I voted Republican and I'd like to be able to get back to that some day, but right now there is no other choice but to vote against Republicans. If they keep winning, we'll lose the country as I know it.1 point

I called John James. His DC number I only get dead air, and his Michigan number I get a voicemail. I left a voicemail letting him know my intention to volunteer for the Benson campaign and tell as many people in Michigan as I can how he voted to take away their healthcare if he votes for this bill. I encourage others here to call his office. He's running for governor so he's the one rep we should be focusing on in Michigan. His DC number is (202) 225-4961 and Michigan number is (586) 498-7122.1 point

We’re halfway through the season, but this team still amazes me. Everyone, top to bottom, contributes. There may be rough spots where the club underperforms, but it’s not annihilating or of bewildering duration. It’s not a team that’s top heavy and completely nonfunctional if some of the main pistons misfire. I love how it’s an actual team and not just a collection of big egos and mercenaries. Sulking stars do not fit in. When you see how a guy like Torres, who came from the biggest show in the show fits seamlessly into the club’s élan it gives me hope that this is something sustainable and not just an aberrant one off thing. Maybe because I’m so invested in it, what the Tigers are doing seems remarkable and unique to me when it isn’t. Maybe every winning team is like this when it’s winning But I just get the feeling that something different is transpiring in Detroit. I’m not sure our previous teams that did well were like this. This same élan seems to prevail throughout the organization in the farm clubs too.1 point

I’m necessarily taking about any specific Tiger prospect but it seems like we may need to change expectations on what constitutes rushed up. 5 players picked in the top 15 in last years draft are already in the majors with less than a full year of minor league ball. 9 players from the first round are already up from 2023 draft. Granted these are all college drafted players but the world is definitely changing. The time needed to season up prospects in the minors has been sped up.1 point
