He has an option and is with a team he can get a chance to contribute right now! No need to release him. Hang on to depth just in case the whole infield gets hurt in the ALCS or something.2 points

It's not escaping my notice that the self-proclaimed Worldwide Leader in Sports™ is advocating a far higher price for the flyover team than for the Los Angeles or New York teams.2 points

Internal thought on Monday: Brieske and Lange could return soon and fortify the bullpen. Yesterday Lange had a setback and Brieske walked 3 and gave up 5 in .2IP.2 points

I mean, winning the series at home against a top team like the Rays is nothing to be ashamed of. But it feels a bit like being pantsed in the locker room, kicked out the door, and the cheerleaders are laughing at you. We had good reason to think we could win this game.1 point

Somebody I have my eye on is Mike Soroka of the Nationals. Yes at first glance you see his ERA is above 5 but that doesn't tell the whole story. He has an xERA at 3.19 which is elite, has elite K% along with BB%. Also has been pitching better of late. I would gamble on things correcting themselves and him getting luckier in the second half. Also last year when put in relief he excelled with a 2.75 ERA and 15 k/9, so even if we don't need him as a starter in the playoffs he could be the swing and miss guy we desperately need out of the bullpen. Also just 27 so somebody that we could look to keep if he performs well down the stretch.1 point

Dodgers have been swept for the 2nd straight series and now have lost 6 straight. What a shame, you have to feel for their fans.1 point

He clearly has taken advantage of the MLB app to improve his baseball vocabulary. I wonder if he has taken a hack at which former MLB player or manager said a certain quote.1 point

I haven’t read this entire thread so if I missed this information too bad. I just wanted to know about the Erie Seawolves name change and how long or how many times they would use this name so I looked it up. The Erie SeaWolves, will not be changing its name for only one game. They are temporarily rebranding as the Erie Moon Mammoths for four games during the season: July 19, August 19, September 12, and September 13.1 point

Maybe the tiers are simple, but the once you start in with Bird, Early Bird, Non-Bird exceptions, Mid-Level Exceptions (Non-Taxpayer, Taxpayer, and the Bi-Annual Exception, the value of expiring contracts, etc., etc. your simplicity goes right past the board like a half-court airball trey. 🧩1 point

<Cough cough> this is what I predicted. Even though Skubal was scheduled to pitch Saturday it makes sense to ensure that he gets an extra days rest before the All-Star game and the Tigers get the exposure on national TV that is good for them.1 point

Nestor Miranda continues to slug in the DSL...32 AB..4HR with a double and a triple. Has walked 6 times..only downside is the 8k's. Has an 1109 OPS off a 250/390/719 line.1 point

You're telling a different story. These are the power rankings and should reflect the best based on performance to date. As for being able to predict the future yours is more intelligent. It's like playoff odds. 162 games is a long season and it gives you a pretty good indication of how good a team is. When you take a playoff series for example, and you have the league's best team which won a little over .630 of their games and pit them against a team that won .520 of their games you end up with a result statistically of the better team winning the series less than 6 times out of ten and the lesser team winning close to 5 times out of ten, so yea. The lesser team has a much better chance than people tend to assign them. Anyone in your tier could beat anyone else in the tier and in any series the outcome pretty much could go either way.1 point

Go down to the value section of their pages and click the glossary drop down. Their value calculation for position players is made up of five components (batting, gidp, baserunning, fielding, positional scarcity). Greene has a 15 run batting advantage, but loses 2 in baserunning, 1 in GIDP avoidance, 14 in fielding, and 6 in positional scarcity.1 point

Skenes is the second best pitcher in baseball and he's got 4 more years until free agency. I don't know if any pitcher with that much value and team control has ever been traded before, so we don't know how much he's worth. I don't think it's ridiculous for the Pirates to expect multiple bluechip prospects in return for him. Regardless of his value though, I would not want the Tigers to do that. I'd rather they keep their best position prospects rather than roll the dice on one big pitching prize. I think there is little chance of the Pirates trading him anyway.1 point

6-4 now in the bottom of the 6th. Also fun is the Dodgers being on a 5-game skid.1 point

As an added benefit they knocked around Hunter Brown putting his ERA behind Skubal's now.1 point

Good Holton is such a big plus for this team. A permanent return to good Holton, the addition of Lee, and the eventual addition of Lange would be huge for this BP. Still would love to see an 8th/9th inning guy brought in at the deadline to pair with Kahnle and Vest, but things starting to come together for that unit.1 point

When Jack gave up that 1st inning HR and the Tampa pitcher mowed us down in the bottom of the 1st, I thought it was just gonna be a rare Tiger loss. The Tigers had other ideas.1 point

I find myself, like others, doing a lot of scoreboard watching. In addition to seeing if the teams in our division lost, I also care about Houston and Yankees losing, so we can avoid the Wild Card round. I also want the Dodgers to lose so that we have supremacy over them. Also, I like seeing teams that are on the bubble for Wild Card contention in each league lose, so ideally there will be more sellers than buyers at the deadline. Basically, I want almost every team losing. And I want everything painted black, black as night.1 point

I think some guys are underrated because they don't play a premium position, or all they do is hit. Gimme hitters, please!1 point
