  1. Hey, if people love it, that's fine. I don't. To each their own. But just because I don't like it doesn't mean I'm not sophisticated enough to understand it. I get why he's doing it. I just hope that the next guy is more dedicated to the team and its 162- (or 154-, whatever they end up deciding after expansion) game season. Just a personal preference. I acknowledged upfront that I might be on an island with this one. We all know how forums work—we bring up all kinds of important and unimportant things.

  2. I'm happy they made the playoffs, and pissed that they gave away a first round bye. With that said, they were great in June, terrible in July, great in August, terrible in September, so... October?

  3. They are going to be exhausted after all that baserunning and winning.

  4. Gotta admit, that’s some exclamation mark. What the Guards have done is really something special, and if it hadn’t come at the expense of our guys I would have thoroughly enjoyed it.

  5. A part of me just wants this season to get over and done with so I can invest my time in worrying about things I can actually affect like the state of the world and the limitations of human mortality. <ducks>

  6. Did you see that curve? Paddack won't be able to do that today.

  10. So if Cleveland loses tonight, the decision is start Skubal tomorrow and hope to win division and host a 3 game series but he would then only pitch game 3 on short rest and may not even get a chance at all. Option two is pitch whoever and start Skubal on extra rest in Game 1 even if it’s on the road. This is not even a choice. There’s only one move .

  12. A morally bankrupt individual making an intellectually bankrupt comparison between guns and cars? Must be another day in America. And this whole idea of "Charlie was a Christian gentleman just trying to create honest dialogue" crap that people (not just you) have been trying to snow the rest of us with is just eye-rolling nonsense. His whole "prove me wrong" format was designed not to genuinely engage with differing viewpoints, but to create gotcha moments that would resonate on social media. He was was, after all, a social media influencer first and foremost. I promise you never once did he ever post any video of him getting smoked in a debate by anyone. The whole thing was an intellectually dishonest exercise from the word "go".

  13. It’s a hard pill for me to swallow when Tork talked yesterday about how many beers he was drinking last night yet. Dingler or Torres or Greene or Tork would have been so exhausted by an 8th or 9th inning at bat that tomorrow’s off day wouldn’t be enough to recover? I’m actually ticked off.

  15. Well, the offense was pretty poor today. The Browns inept offense created a lot of short fields for the offense and the Kalif punt return TD made the score look like a good offensive performance when it wasn't but it's a positive when the Lions play their C Game and still win by 24 points.

  17. I'd think about bringing backups in - the way guys are falling. If they get the TD here it's Kyle Allen/Craig Reynolds time. But first - Goff to Jaymo for a TD so I can ice my fanatasy game.

  20. Lions bringing their C game today, at least on offense. Maybe even their D game. Kind of expected a letdown after the big Ravens win, I mean they're not robots.

  22. I think he has some bruised ribs. He took a shot and was slow to get up early in the game. Then that was was another body blow.

  31. I’m on this island with you, brother. I think it sucks that he chooses to do ****ty college football games and whatnot during the September overlap period. These football guys are mostly independent contractors from what I understand so he doesn’t have to do it. I like him as an announcer and I’m happy to have him calling our games, and I’m also happy that we get Dan on the days Jason is off calling a game that appeals to alumni only. But I don’t think any other relevant team has a main announcer that isn’t around for games during a playoff push. I do remember last year for the clinch he found a replacement for the ****ty college game he was calling so that he could be on the mic for the tigers that weekend. It was understandable that he didn’t think there would be meaningful baseball played by the tigers in September 2024. No excuse for this year, though.

  35. i tend to buy the "youre overrating your own prospects" argument combined with the "you only have so many years with skubal so try to win with him" argument more.

  37. Keith didnt get those AB's this year. Splits don't tend to stabilize until you get 1000 or so against LHP. Meadows and Greene have defensive value, so you stomach the platoon split. Carpenter doesn't.

  40. I have now sent at least one email every single day for the past calendar year to John James. The response rate has been less than 10%. Every Friday I ask him to provide five things he accomplished for the week. It seems my best response rate was when I was calling him a liar if he votes to cut Medicaid. He hasn't responded to my Epstein emails. Today I made fun of him for finishing 4th in a straw poll among Republicans. I'm like Andy Dufresne in Shawshank Redemption. I'll keep writing my letters.

  41. I can't blame people for being bitter towards the Wings, but the prospects have been looking good so I am personally choosing to focus on that! It has been fun seeing them mixed in with our NHL roster, and overall doing pretty well.

  42. I once made a remark to a visitor at Colonial Williamsburg who asked if he could drive down the streets in the Colonial Area. He was a bit offended because I told him there were no cars in 1774. He could ride his horse... Some people just don't understand sarcasm
