Hey, if people love it, that's fine. I don't. To each their own. But just because I don't like it doesn't mean I'm not sophisticated enough to understand it. I get why he's doing it. I just hope that the next guy is more dedicated to the team and its 162- (or 154-, whatever they end up deciding after expansion) game season. Just a personal preference. I acknowledged upfront that I might be on an island with this one. We all know how forums work—we bring up all kinds of important and unimportant things.3 points

I'm happy they made the playoffs, and pissed that they gave away a first round bye. With that said, they were great in June, terrible in July, great in August, terrible in September, so... October?3 points

They are going to be exhausted after all that baserunning and winning.2 points

Gotta admit, that’s some exclamation mark. What the Guards have done is really something special, and if it hadn’t come at the expense of our guys I would have thoroughly enjoyed it.2 points

A part of me just wants this season to get over and done with so I can invest my time in worrying about things I can actually affect like the state of the world and the limitations of human mortality. <ducks>2 points

Did you see that curve? Paddack won't be able to do that today.2 points

Ray Lane was very solid. Great Pipes. He had along life. RIP2 points

If we could have had one player all season, I would take Olson.2 points

I think this team has missed a healthy Vierling this year more than has been discussed.2 points

So if Cleveland loses tonight, the decision is start Skubal tomorrow and hope to win division and host a 3 game series but he would then only pitch game 3 on short rest and may not even get a chance at all. Option two is pitch whoever and start Skubal on extra rest in Game 1 even if it’s on the road. This is not even a choice. There’s only one move .2 points

Either the Chiefs are de-valuing the Lions’ win over the Ravens or else the Lions broke the Ravens for the next week like they did to quite a few teams last year.1 point

Glad to see the allied powers and Team Europe won The Ryder Cup. Trump had to show up and make it political, so **** him. Everything in sports from hockey to baseball to golf to the USFL he touches turns to ****.1 point

I’m all for resting the pitching staff. But when the division is in play with the Tigers and Guardians both in 1-run games, could we please get Greene, Tork and Dingler into the game now.1 point

I've never seen a team name that represents the organization as much as Cleveland Browns. What a ****ty, stinky franchise. Just take this ugly W and run1 point

I'd think about bringing backups in - the way guys are falling. If they get the TD here it's Kyle Allen/Craig Reynolds time. But first - Goff to Jaymo for a TD so I can ice my fanatasy game.1 point

Lions bringing their C game today, at least on offense. Maybe even their D game. Kind of expected a letdown after the big Ravens win, I mean they're not robots.1 point

might have been on Williams not being where he was supposed to be. Something's off with those two today.1 point

Myles Garrett is better than Taylor Decker. Decker is trying to cheat. He’s not Juwaan Taylor so he’s not allowed to cheat.1 point

It’s gratuitous to call the Browns a professional sports team given their ownership.1 point

For similar reasons I just watched the segment of the Paris Olympics opening where the heavy metal guys are playing while a bunch of Marie Antoniettes are standing without their heads and a bunch of very gay-coded people are flinging around on poles and an opera singer rides up in a ship. If it pisses off the goobers who voted for Trump who think their idea of Kulture is ascendant...so much the better.1 point

lol, a walkoff hit by the pitch. After an IBB to load the bases the batter before that.1 point

This is correct and it shouldn't even be a question. They play on a field, with a ball, bats, gloves. You still must pitch, catch, and throw the ball. Doesn't matter where it is. And has been said on this very site a gazillion times over the years; in a short series/playoffs anything can happen. For the wanting the bye crowd. Rather not. No live pitching for a few days might **** you up. On the other hand, the Tigers need the practice. 🙂1 point

Cleveland is gonna punch their playoff ticket with a walkoff. Very dramatic.1 point

Agreed. I don't care who or where we play, I want my ace in the mound.1 point

Hey you guys, Thanks for being a pretty darn cool group. Thanks for helping me get through this. Hopefully we stay busy for a few more weeks.1 point

Relieved as much as happy. No matter what else happens this season, at least the Tigers have managed to maintain a shred of dignity. Blowing the division AND missing the playoffs altogether could have taken years to live down.1 point

i tend to buy the "youre overrating your own prospects" argument combined with the "you only have so many years with skubal so try to win with him" argument more.1 point

Appalling behavior with the heckling. This isn't baseball, this is golf. The American fans treatment of the Europeans has been disgraceful.1 point

Keith didnt get those AB's this year. Splits don't tend to stabilize until you get 1000 or so against LHP. Meadows and Greene have defensive value, so you stomach the platoon split. Carpenter doesn't.1 point

You must not be listening to the Tigers radio feed because Bobby Scales is a really good analyst.1 point

This is a good old-fashioned butt whooping. The only thing more disappointing than the US performance is the behavior from the US crowd.1 point

I have now sent at least one email every single day for the past calendar year to John James. The response rate has been less than 10%. Every Friday I ask him to provide five things he accomplished for the week. It seems my best response rate was when I was calling him a liar if he votes to cut Medicaid. He hasn't responded to my Epstein emails. Today I made fun of him for finishing 4th in a straw poll among Republicans. I'm like Andy Dufresne in Shawshank Redemption. I'll keep writing my letters.1 point

I can't blame people for being bitter towards the Wings, but the prospects have been looking good so I am personally choosing to focus on that! It has been fun seeing them mixed in with our NHL roster, and overall doing pretty well.1 point
