I’ll be in this section 337, a few rows up from where this pic was taken. So pretty high up, but overall a nice enough seat. The Tigers’ dugout is on the 3rd base side. Paid US$225 for a single on StubHub, all-in after fees (exorbitant) and taxes. More than I’ve ever paid for a baseball ticket, but road playoff baseball is a rare chance.7 points

You are guaranteed a Game 1 and a Game 2, so why not deploy your best weapon in the way that most optimizes that weapon? And that is pitching him Game 2... and either way the next game after either Game 1 or 2 is Game 5. Saturday - Game 1 Sunday - Game 2 Monday - Off Tuesday - Game 3 Wednesday - Game 4 Thursday - Off Friday - Game 5 Pitchers are worse on short rest. Skubal doesn't do it. Heck, Hinch will often throw a bullpen day in just to give him even an extra day. Having him go on Games 1 and 4 would have him go short rest twice. Game 1 - Montero/Bullpen Chaos Game 2 - Skubal Game 3 - Mize Game 4- Flaherty Game 5- Skubal3 points

Congratulations on your division title, Guardians. It's adorable.3 points

Bad Bunny is the most streamed artist right now. Can anybody with a brain tell me why this is a bad decision? Do they know how this works? It's not about picking someone "good" that baby boomers want to watch. "Hey, maybe we can get John Fogerty or John Mellencamp or splurge and maybe Garth Brooks. Woo... that'll keep 'em watching." It's not 1996 anymore. I'm 52 in a few days and smart enough to know I'm not their target.2 points

The word a lot in your second sentence is doing A LOT of heavy lifting because it simply isn't backed up by facts. According to the Gun Violence Archive there were 5,748 mass shootings between 1/1/2013 and 9/15/2025. That number may not be 100% accurate of course and the definition of what qualifies may change. Of that number a total of 5 were carried out by transgendered people. Not 500, not even 50, only 5. That is still 5 too many as any mass shooting is horrific and unacceptable. But that's significantly less than even a single percentage or half of one percent. It completely defeats your made up narrative that you're peddling. Your use of the word a lot there, to try and imply that trans people and liberals are committing most mass shootings, is built on either a foundation of ignorance or a foundation of dishonesty or both. As to the second point I highlighted at the bottom. You accuse MCS of trying to fit something into a political agenda . . . while you're doing the exact same thing. You are trying to spin a false narrative of "all these trans mass shootings" with out a shred of evidence or factual data to back it up. You are living in a house built of straw, blown over easily be facts and data.2 points

lol. Why would you quote a Seattle mayor, then refer to Portland? Your orange Jesus would be proud of your disinformation acumen. Your trolling technique is showing signs of rust. 😂1 point

It's hot dogs though. They're stale from the beginning. that's why they are so good.1 point

Trying to decide which I like less, him shooting more jumpers or him doing that messy Drummond dribble-drive thing he likes to do. If his defensive numbers weren't trash when Ausar wasn't on the court, now that would be something.1 point

Much better than what I'm seeing from "Real" Christian churches. But many of them don't seem to be Christian in the terms of following Christ's teachings.1 point

“Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They’re allowed to take only a knapsack and a little cash with them, and even then, they’re robbed of these possessions on the way. Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared. Women return from shopping to find their houses sealed, their families gone." Anne Frank wrote those words.1 point

Did you ever hear Mickey talk about that game? After about the 3rd inning, Mayo asked him for "just one more inning." He did the same thing the next couple of innings. After that, he didn't even bother talking to him. 😅😅1 point

All this talk about when Skubal will pitch and how much rest he needs has me thinking about Mickey Lolich in the 68 World Series. Oct 3rd - Game 2 - Complete Game Win Oct 7th - Game 5 - Complete Game Win Oct 10th - Game 7 - Complete Game Win I can safely say that'll never happen again.1 point

No difference between Game 1 and Game 2. He still gets to go full rest on Game 5 and you can use him twice on full rest in the series if needed. Ask Clayton Kershaw how going on short rest goes as the best lefty in the game.1 point
-
There is no way they use him in 1 and 4. They won't use him on three days rest because he's never done that before. Believe me, I miss the days of pitchers going on 3 days rest sometimes and pitching complete games, but it is a different game today. I actually think there are still pitchers today that could pitch more games, more innings, but those days are over.1 point

These ESPN broadcasters are unspeakably bad. (Except David Cone. He’s usually good, sometimes funny) One of them just said “two rookies in a pitcher’s duel at the end of two innings” Whaaat??? Stupid.1 point

MIze should be able to go again on short rest considering he threw only 62 in his start.1 point

The “start the game thread til they lose” theory has thus far resulted in a loss for the next game. I think we need to cycle in order from me to Oblong to MWG.1 point

That mostly takes the stench out of the late season collapse. Not totally because I care about the regular season and I wanted a division title, but they are now in pretty much the same position as they would have been without the collapse. This season will no longer be remembered by most fans as the biggest choke ever. So, now we can relax and enjoy the rest of the post-season!1 point

I actually don’t care what happens after this. This is so sweet, anything after this is gravy. It would be great to keep moving on, but I’m just savoring this right now. Beating Cleveland, the team that beat us 16 times one year or whatever? Damn this makes me happy.1 point

Honestly with that one, I doubt he knew or realized real time. Unless someone in the booth told him, he wouldn't have seen it from the sideline. Even the broadcasters didn't realize it until later their on-call official brought it up. Granted, it's not like he was ever particularly emotional on the sideline.1 point

For people in my age group, which is early 70s, I can’t over emphasize how important it was for us to link a part of our own self image as children - with all the feckless innocence of children - to this team and to experience the ultimate payoff in so dramatic and satisfying manner when we were, by then, in a relative state of now waning innocence as teens. This was especially true after that first World Series game humiliation of 17 strikeouts at the hands of Gibson and being down three games to one and then roaring back to win it all. On rare occasions, out here in the diaspora, when by chance I wander across an another fan from my generation, we share the glow of that rising sun that linked our childhood to our young adulthood, and though complete strangers in everything else, we share something valuable that leaves us near speechless.1 point
