Sigh.... I'm just trying for a little light hearted and terrible humor. I'm not here to learn nothing. But while we're at it, I hate the application of the tree. I hate dropping the money on it. I hate decorating it, I hate undecorating it, I hate taking it out afterwards, I hate cleaning up all of the damn needles afterwards. I kind of like the lights. But essentially since the woman to whom I'm related by marriage wants a live tree, I'm forking over $100 to be annoyed. And think about it from the tree's perspective. If they're getting chopped down, you know damn good and well they would prefer to sacrifice themselves to become a baseball bat over anything else.3 points

I don’t think that Campbell has been able to manage the RB split appropriately, which is another huge reason this team has imploded. Once Monty is gone we can play a subpar back like Vaki as sparingly. I’m not convinced the run game will be fix by more Gibbs though.2 points

I came across a fanblog article on Mattison using it as a jumping off point for how cheap the Tigers are. This is no such example. In every case of the non-tender and re-sign, the player is brought back for more on the Major League and minor league split than they would have gotten if tendered. It is why they usually accept. This is not a case of the team being cheap.2 points

not sure we need or want another Skubal article, but Cody dropped another one today, basically comparing Bets, Soto, and Pedro trades to Skubal's situation this is a good quote “In some ways,” Cubs executive Carter Hawkins recently said, “if you’re always on one of the particular sides of a deal like that — like the quote-unquote ‘Tucker side’ or the ‘prospect side’ — if you do that over and over and over again, it’s probably not good for your organizational health. “If you’re never, ever taking on risk in terms of giving future talent away, you might miss the chance for some upside seasons. And vice versa — if you’re always just accumulating asset value, you never actually have that come to fruition.”2 points

League should be addressing fouls and referees, not tanking. Fix the game by allowing the defender the right to his space and making it a no-call or offensive foul when the offensive player initiates contact.1 point

Yep. They’ve already proven that they will detain anybody regardless of status. Even people born here. Guilty until innocent. But some people look the other way as long as they make an extra 1% on their portfolio and can continue to bet on sporting events.1 point

if wemby can stay healthy he'll be a generational player. yet another gift the league has given to the spurs via the lottery.1 point

I watched it. I've been preparing for an OKC dynasty similar to GSW recent run. SAS is going to be right with them if Wemby stays healthy. The Spurs are crazy good. As decent a player as Holmgren is, Wemby is clearly on another level. And Wemby is starting to do some trash talking, which is fun to watch. Very confident player and he definitely backs it up. As soon as that game ended I watched the Pistons. Was impressed by Westbrook. Cade played well but I think he seems a little sluggish recently. I have some concern by the end of the season he may wear down. Harris sort of took over the closer role and it worked. Still seems that Detroit would greatly benefit by adding a legit gritty consistent scorer1 point

Sacramento lead 12-11. And then never had the lead again. As great as this team is, at 24-6 -- there is room for improvement. They can get better with trade deadline add. They can afford to offer a couple of their players and get better. What a turnaround. J.B. Bickerstaff is so underappreciated in Detroit.1 point

This is truly tyranny of the stupid. We are not only being run by some of the most truly disgusting, repugnant people on Earth, but the dumbest among us too. Sick ****ing people.1 point

Hi. Purdue alum here. Brohm is the only successful coach we had in the years since Tiller retired. I can go on an on about the good and the bad. Some stray thoughts. A supermajority of the blue chip recruits we have ever gotten happened under him. Guys like Moore, Bell, Karlaftis were huge recruiting wins. I don't know where the knock on recruiting comes from. My understanding is he has done well at the portal at Louisville. The team had major discipline issues, a rash of personal fouls after third down. Brohm himself was flagged way too often for going after the refs. The Syracuse game his last year at Purdue was bad. I don't know where this reputation that he is a quarterback whisperer comes from. I believe the most successful NFL QB he has worked with is David Blough. I am betting Louisville would hire Brian in the wake, which will make this palatable to his family that begged him to take that job. That may also shield you from his toxic other brother Greg on the administrative side. The 30 point win over Ohio State in 2018 was the greatest day of my life.1 point

can someone stop brad holmes from trading up for projects? and please remind him of his 2021-2023 mojo. since then, the drafts have been middling at best. the lions have now entered the phase when their team is becoming very expensive. they need draft capital to fill roles cheaply. they dont need to trade multiple picks to get brad holmes' newest vanity project. offensive tackle should be their #1 concern. those dont come available in free agency like iol do. which means i fully expect the lions to draft a weakside linebacker in round one.1 point

he's won 8 games wherever he's gone. and with an offense that is not what michigan has been doing for the past 10 years (ignoring the "speed in space" fiasco). i'm probably too hard on him. he might be better with michigan's resources. that said, is michigan THAT much better of a job than penn state? i think it's a better job, but enough to make brohm change his mind?1 point

football teams have terrible injury years, nothing you can do but reload and try again. As long as it's Holmes picking the talent they'll be back.1 point

I didn't see them missing the playoffs but I did predict 10-7 or 11-6 and a struggle to make the playoffs because of many factors, losing the continuity with both coordinators, losing vital pieces of the offensive line and replace them with young guys, Hutch and Alim likely not being the same after injury and a harder schedule so I'm not shocked that this happened. What I didn't see was their lack of execution in key moments by guys that are usually reliable, Amon-Ra made a ton of critical errors this season for instance. Either way, the Lions either take this as a learning experience and springboard to better things going forward or maybe this is what they are now. I do know that Holmes and Campbell have had some arrogance to them Brad in particular that was becoming a little off putting so hopefully this humbles them a bit and they get back to work.1 point
