  3. I listened to a Brett Hull podcast/interview recently where he claimed that Sergei was put on defense as a punishment because Bowman didn't believe he was consistently giving 100% but then was even more pissed off after because he realized he had a norris trophy level player in him if he kept him on D and wasn't sure if he actually had learned his lesson or not.

  10. Is the kangaroo court attempt to take down Powell the distraction from the attempt to invade Greenland which is a distraction from the murder of Renee Good which is a distraction from the invasion of Venezuela which is a distraction from destroying the White House which is a distraction from the President being in the Epstein files? *i'm sure its just because I just woke up that I can't recall dozens of other crazy events that have occurred in the last two months since the law was passed to require the full release of the Epstein files.

  14. And with respect to Sue's post: I am a man, certainly I do not understand every aspect of how women are experiencing this moment. But I have a family and am married to a woman who is not all that separated in age to Ms. Good. One of my initial reactions, once learning the details, is that this could have been any mom who found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's what makes this moment so scary and why it's pissing off so many people. If they would do it to Renee Good, they'd do it to anyone else too

  15. Ha, I was just thinking about her the other day. Turned 16 the night the Wings won the Cup in ‘97. Rode with Sergei in the parade a few days later.

  20. but i am happy he is getting his number retired and i will probably tear up a little watching all those old highlights. the red wings getting the russians together and taking players out of the eastern bloc has been told a number of times now, but its still an amazing story how they did it, and it set the franchise up for a 25 year run that has never been duplicated in the modern post original six era. unlike the penguins or blackhawks or any other team that has won multiple cups, the wings won with different teams and werent gifted generational players thanks to the lottery gods. they did it through scouting and development. as a wings fan, that's a source of pride. and sergei was a big part of that.

  21. when I first saw this I thought it staged, but then it became pretty clear it was not all an act, or if it was initially the kids lost control of it. Any Adult in proximity this needs to be fired from their gig - not funny at all.

  25. I’ve never viewed a Chiropractor as a doctor. It’s always been more of a physical therapy thing for me. A good Chiropractor can be a god send for back and neck issues. I’ve had situations where I could barely move and thought I’d really done damage only to be just like normal after two sessions. The key is that you have to know how to handle them. It’s sort of like buying a car at the dealership. Do buy into all the other BS. They will all get super deep into alternative methods to treat everything. Don’t do it. Just go to alleviate what pains you at that moment. They will all preach on the benefits of coming twice a week for a 3 months after the pain stops to build strength. Don’t do it. Solve the pain and move on.

  29. This is too funny. It looks like a mafia Don (no pun intended) leaning on their enemy. Mis-spent money charges if I read this right, about a renovation at the Fed? NO, that never happened in the history of the good old U S of ****ing A (not only the Fed but any .gov project). Too funny, but I digress... He wants zero interest, so do many others. Easy and free money creates more money - credit is money. Sign the paper - you just created money. The more money you create the bigger the pie. Who controls the pie, who gets it first, and who knows how it works better than (drum roll) the banksters. Then there is the whole paying it back thing, or not... The ponzi must continue - enter Bill Ackman - hedge fund billionaire, and the response from the old Reagan budget director. Michigan guy if I remember right. I always get a kick out of him. Quite a wordsmith, like him or not. He won't be a nominee for the next Fed chair, and I will bet my entire life savings on that. 🙂

  30. I mean, what does he bring? His shooting has fallen off the last week or two and is now at 33% from three. Can't get to the rim, doesn't play defense, doesn't create for others. He might get benched once the trade deadline passes.

  32. I think Frank Zappa was absolutely on the spectrum (many creative people are) and he had the outlet and discipline for it to work in his favor. But if you didn't think near his level, he'd eviscerate you and he just didn't tolerate anyone that he thought wasn't up to his lofty standards and he seemed rude about it. He wouldn't fake it for anyone and while there I appreciate the honesty, he could have given it a rest a little bit. Showing kindness is not a weakness.

  33. I've interviewed Moon (by phone) and she was one of the easiest people to interview I've ever dealt with. Very open, very nice, smart and funny. It helps when the person you are interviewing understands why they're doing an interview. Instead of someone who doesn't want to answer questions and won't lead you. I've heard Dweezil is like that too, just a nice person. I interviewed Cyndi Lauper once. It was another phoner. It was a 30 minute interview. I opened with one question and never got another word in. LOL. But she was sweet. When unsure of my subject I learned this great J.P. McCarthy trick when I was an intern in the 80s. J.P. would open the interview introducing the name of the person and why they were there, On the line today with me I am speaking with Biff Mayhem and he's here to talk about the organization that he started after the Back To The Future movies, People For The Ethical Treatment of Biffs. Good morning, your thoughts? worked almost every time. If it didn't, you knew the person was the wrong subject to be interviewed - because J.P. was a master at disarming and calming the subject and if he couldn't, well, almost no one could? I didn't even work for his station, I worked for the FM. I was told not to bother him. Bad advice, he was actually very gracious with advice. Just don't bug him when he's busy. That's fair.

  34. And they subtly shield those fears by pointing out she was a lesbian. Therefore an “other”. Don’t worry sweetie. They won’t do this to you. You are “normal”. Then they just incrementally advance it along until the only safe women will be white,Christian (of certain Protestant sects), non working, and child bearing age. (13-37 preferably). Of course this excludes the Ms Vance’s of the world. I’m hopefully exaggerating but maybe not.

  38. Biggest question for me is whether Gibson can sustain his good play. If the Wings get decent or good goaltending, a playoff spot should be theirs unless they get hit by injuries. A graphic on TV last night showed that Gibson's Save % was around 30th in the league in October-November but 3rd in the league in January-December.

  39. i’d kind of like to ask the men on this forum to talk to the women in their family right now. Because I have a feeling that not everyone can appreciate what women are feeling at the moment with this latest killing. Men may say, watching that video and hearing the dialogue that ensued, that they are angry. But I believe at least some women may share with you that what they are is afraid. Angry sure, but women are afraid. Why? Because we have seen that look that that ICE agents had in their eyes when they approached her car. They’ve seen that look sometime in their lives. Because men and women have different reactions. Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. But women are afraid that men will kill them.
