  1. Same here, I was most concerned that the clock would be really intrusive like right behind home plate on the camera or tv would have a big graphic of it which in turn would distract me every pitch cause it would make me anxious thinking if the pitch was gonna be thrown in time but I rarely even think about it during the game. Also I was a little worried that there would be a lot of violations but that hasn't been the case either atleast in Tigers games anyway.
  2. That's probably the safe bet but maybe we'll get lucky and this surgery will have cured the ailments holding him back the last couple years and now he is free to fulfill the potential we had in him when we drafted him in the 2nd round. Not counting on it or expecting it but atleast it sounds like there could atleast be a possibility.
  3. I'm treating anything we get from him as found money but Campbell says that Levi is on track to return to training camp from his back surgery and all signs have been positive about his recovery.
  4. I would say with the faster game times they have to make up for lost ad time but I guess with baseball that really doesnt matter since they only would take breaks in the half innings and pitching changes so game pace shouldn't have any effect on that.
  5. I believe Cade's was the tibia, also considering the state of the franchise, how important Cade is to the future and the draft having a generational prospect I think its safe to say that the Pistons erred on the side of caution and milked the injury longer than it needed to be. But that's just my assumption.
  6. Givony has us taking Whitmore now with Victor, Miller, Scoot and Amen going 1 through 4 in that order. I believe his last mock had the same top 4 but he had us taking Walker instead.
  7. Sounds like Riley wanted to keep playing and didn't even think he was that injured, don't know if that changes anything but I figure it can't be bad news.
  8. I mean I guess he isn't going to say anything else but according to JEIII while money was obviously the biggest motivator Monty was also attracted to our young core and bought into Weaver and Gores' "vision of the franchise going forward" when they met at Gores' house. Also supposedly Monty told them originally that he was probably going to take a year off but the Pistons and one other unknown team were two places he'd consider going. Sounds like he may have leveraged himself more money, smart man in that regard.
  9. It's impossible to know exactly how Meadows feels but maybe it is just an instance that this doesn't effect his everyday life at all it's just something that comes along now when he is in the batters box. Hell it may not even be severe or completely debilitating but it effects him just enough where he isn't 100% there at the plate which is enough for him to realize that all he is doing is hurting himself and his team by trying to play through it. Again though nobody knows and this is just complete speculation but for his sake I hope it's something like this and not something that is effecting him continuously.
  10. I'd be more than happy if he returned by the All Star Break, if he returned by the end of June that would be even better but lets be honest more than likely we'll be looking at an August return at best given how players seem to recover on our team. If the prognosis is say 6-10 weeks you can bet your ass it's going to be closer to 10 than it is 6.
  11. Some had him as the top available coach on the market and the Pistons went and got him so even though it's a lot of money I don't see how this can be viewed as a bad thing. It may turn out that way but I love the fact that they didn't just take the cheap route or settle for an inferior candidate, they knew that there were more attractive options out there than the Pistons opening so if they wanted to get the best guy they could they had to pony up the money and to Gores' credit he did.
  12. Marisnick comes through with a clutch RBI single in his first game as a Tiger! 3-1 Tigers!
  13. Of course Short lays down the perfect bunt and of course he hustles down the line and beats the throw as well! #playsgamerightway #grit #hustle
  14. The Tigers could draft Wolverine and somehow he'd blow an acl or need Tommy John surgery shortly after we picked him.
  15. Iirc I seem to remember scouts talking about how he ran even before he was drafted.
  16. Can't really fault him for the foul off the foot last year, but it does seem to be a little concerning that he would get a stress fracture in his fibula at the age of 22, particularly when he only played part of last season, played no offseason ball and is only 2 months into this year so it's not like he has been overworked.
  17. It just sucks, right when he looks like he is about to turn a real corner and blossom into the star we hoped he would be this happens. Between him and Erod it appeared that we may actually break our drought of only having relievers make the All Star team(not counting the charity Miggy thing last year) but of course they both get injured now our last hope is Zach Mckinstrey.
  18. Nice to see Flores get some Ks even if it did come with 5 walks. Also Jung has been in a tailspin of late, right after it appeared he was starting to turn the corner. Too bad.
  19. The Hopkins practice news isn't encouraging but I don't necessarily think it's a deal breaker like it would be if he was a draft prospect. Idk but I think Holmes and co. may be a little more leniant of a long time veteran who's been one of the best at his position for several years taking it a little easy at practice vs. a 21 year old kid in college, particularly given the situation in Arizona where it sounds like it wasn't good. I think at the very least they would keep an open mind and contemplate if he would have those same issues here or if it was more a product of his environment and circumstances.
  20. It would've been nice to have some more MLB ready prospects to call up but in our defense perhaps 6 of our 7 best starting pitchers are injured in Erod, Manning, Skubal, Mize, Turnbull and Brieske. Granted a couple of those were expected coming into the season but still its hard to make up for that many guys being out.
  21. It's fair to ask but what makes me a little skeptical of it being something specific the Tigers are doing is that not all the injuries are the same, like if everybody was going down with TJ it would be easier to point the finger at something specific but we got guys down with TJ, flexor tendons, shoulders, backs, fingers and knees. Basically you name the body part and we got a pitcher down because of it it.
  22. I remember a game last week where Riley in a rare instance lazily came up to retrieve a single up the middle which in turn allowed the runner to go from 1st to 3rd, instead of commenting on that all Monroe did was praise Riley for not trying to throw him out at third but instead threw it into 2nd to keep the double play in order. I don't think Riley deserved to be raked across the coals for making a rare mental/lazy mistake but it should've atleast been mentioned on the broadcast, not only was it not mentioned instead he heaped praise about something he did during the play.
  23. If I'm Mckinstrey right now I'm walking around like Bubble Boy.
  24. Zach Short now playing center in Riley's absence and of course almost right away a ball is hit to him,he takes a good route in cutting off the ball but then makes an ill advised throw trying to get the lead runner at 3rd which allows Jung to cruise into 2nd.
  25. Ibanez pinch hitting for Riley Greene, it appears Riley must've tweaked or hurt something tracking the Flyball the previous inning. Shoot me now!
