I take it were going to see the same B team for Thursday's summer league finale? Btw Did they ever give an update on Ivey,I assume since I hadn't seen anything yet it must not be serious cause if it was I surely would've came across the news somewhere.

I like the potential starting lineup of Cade, Ivey, Burks, Bey and Stewart. Assuming Stewart's outside shot is indeed legit this would surround Ivey with shooters and give him the most room to operate. Plus I think 4 may be Bey's best position so that's an added bonus.

Happy Brieske Day!

I just find it weird that he decides he doesnt want to play anymore right after signing a long term contract. I mean why not just retire during the offseason? I guess the only thing I can think of is that perhaps he thought switching organizations may light a fire in him or bring back his love for the game and when that didn't happen he knew that it was time to step away.

Ivey off to the locker room with a right ankle injury. He landed on the opponents foot on a 3 point attempt that he was fouled on, hope it's nothing serious. Ivey was able to walk off under his own power and even sink all 3 FT attempts before exiting so hopefully that's a sign it isn't too severe. BTW he dominated the 5 minutes he was out there, looked like the best player on the court for sure and scored 11 points in those 5 minutes in only 2 shots!

Mathurin finishes with 23 points in 20 minutes. I was only half watching after the 1st but from what I saw his offense was pretty much as advertised. His shot was really pure and he scored a couple buckets in transition but he couldn't take anybody off the dribble. A few times he had a bigger defender on him and he couldn't shake him and just settled for a jump shot. Still though the jumper looked really good and he ran the floor well, IF he can develop any time of one on one game he could be really good.

Maturin and the Pacers are on ESPN2 right now and he's looking good thus far with 8pts in the 1st.

It was a small sample size of course but Stewart did finish the season 11-18 from beyond the arc so perhaps his 3 ball can become relatively good. Like Del mentioned it doesn't have to be 40% but even if he can hit near 35% so it's good enough to have to respect it that could really help this offense.

Dame signs a 2/122 extension with the Blazers. I imagine that is the highest AAV in league history.

I still say that moment was the last time Comerica was really rocking and felt like the "good ole days" when the Tigers were good. Yeah Cabrera's 3000 hit was a great moment and all but it didn't have the same type of feeling or energy.imo

Richard Jefferson pulling the old timer today and blasting teams for "coddling" players by not forcing all young players to play summer league instead of mainly rookies and struggling 2nd year players. He said "I made the finals my rookie year and was guarding Kobe in it yet the Nets made me play summer league the following season to work on parts of my game." I don't know what started the rant since I literally turned it on right when he started talking but he brought up Jalen Greene sitting courtside and not playing so perhaps that. The cohost brought up if Cade should be playing and he shrugged that off and the other talking head who's name I can't think of at the moment said that Cade may be one of the exceptions.

Mark Jones keeps pronouncing it "Lie-vers" did Livers change the pronunciation of his name over the offseason or does he simply not know better?

First possession and it's an Ivey lob to Duren. Couldn't have drawn it up any better. BTW Killian, Livers and Stewart also out starting.

As I patiently wait for the Pistons to come on I just got to say how crazy/impressive the NBA has made something like the summer league into. Drawing thousands of fans, being on ESPN in prime time, talked about heavily on social media etc. it doesn't seem like that long ago it was taken place in a practice facility in Orlando in front of a couple dozen people or so.

Per usual Soto makes it interesting but like his predecessors Todd Jones, Jose Valverde and Fernando Rodney he ultimately gets it done.
-
Tork probably should've made that play. Too bad.
-
Yeah with Robert up and especially with Abreu in the on deck circle I'm not getting a good feeling about this one.
-
Tork with a pinch hit single to drive in Haase! Great to see him drill one like that.
-
Haase continues his hot stretch with a pinch hit leadoff single.
-
Good call blue!
-
Damn Barnhart looked like he was shot out of cannon there. Can't remember the last time I seen a play like that.
-
I don't think we have ever held Abreu hitless in a game so you knew he was going to do something. Hopefully that single will be it for the day.

Hinch may be playing with fire having Beau face the heart of the White Sox order for the 3rd time.
