RandyMarsh Posted May 25 Posted May 25 The Tigers haven't scored more than 5 runs in 9 games, they were averaging over that on the season prior to this stretch. Quote
romad1 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 If this were football I'd say we structurally could not beat Cleveland. This is a frustrating but fixable bad weekend. Quote
romad1 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Prediction: nothing but high heat and breaking balls to Keith. Quote

Tiger337 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 It's been a rough series. This is the first time since the opening series versus the Dodgers that Tigers fans have been brought back to reality. They've got a good team, but it's not going to be all magic all the time. 2 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Hinch lost that game of chess. He burned thru his better relievers and Cleveland saved theirs until they took a lead. It won the game for them. I guess we'll see if Skubal can be our stopper... 1 Quote
papalawrence Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Well that sucks. Cleveland is playing very well. I hate them. I hate Ramirez. I hate Santana. Right now I hate Drew Carey. Quote
papalawrence Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Cleveland has had Detroit's number for years. Last year the tide started to change, but it's right back to thumping the Tigers. Skubal will be a dawg tomorrow. Eff Cleveland. Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I was expecting a split as the worst possible outcome of this series but now I’m just hoping that we salvage one game. To me this feels like somebody coming into my house and stealing my stuff. Of course I take this stuff way too seriously. I don’t know how the team feels about this. I’m sure they’re grown men and they know how to overcome this. But the saying “revenge is best served cold” comes to mind and they need to have a sharp edged steely approach to tomorrow’s game. I’m sure they will. Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Just walk Ramirez every time. Make someone else beat us. Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I get the feeling that Cleveland scouted us a lot better than our team scouted them. Of course it could be just a matter of one team being hot and another team being cold too. But they are suspiciously better than us and I don’t think they’re cheating. They’re flat out beating us. I think their people thought long and hard about how to defeat the Tigers and they’ve basically done it. Quote

papalawrence Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Benetti said during game 2 that this series may be "awakening a sleeping giant." Cleveland is going to be in the divisional race to the end. I hate them. Quote

Manning, who had been making some good relief appearances for the Hens came in to pitch the top of the 9th tonight with a 2 run lead. 2H (both >105 EV) 2BB WP, K resulted in two runs and a blown save. Naturally, he got the win when the Hens walked it off. Seems he still has some work to do before he's a candidate for a call back as a reliever. BTW, Parker with a BB and K. Klondike Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Its far more likely Cleveland than Minny for serious contenders. It's more lkkely, they have playedl below thier talent level so far this season. They actually play Harris type ball or how Harris wants the Tigers to be. Must win with Skubal t9morrow Quote

Manning is not even in my consideration set anymore. Quote
