Based on projected starters/no rainouts, the Tigers will not face a right handed starting pitcher in the first 6 games.

Rainouts in SD are unlikely; AZ has a dome.

All three SD projected starting pitchers are right handed.

Game is on MLB Network so I will be able to watch. 

Maybe already mentioned this spring, but price of MLB At Bat has doubled. Those gripping oppo taco commercials must have driven higher demand!

I might stick with my Sirius XM subscription because it has audio for all Tigers, Wings, Pistons and Lions games but the problem is it lags by a minute or two, worse than At Bat.

This is the line-up I expected.  As a big proponent of defense, I like having Baez in the line-up.  If he hits more like 2024 than 2025, then go to another plan.  Same with Meadows except you hopes it's more 2024 than 2025.

I don’t get Carpenter hitting leadoff.  Doesn’t walk much, one of your bigger power threats.  Would not be shocked to see he and McGonigle swap spots once Kevin build up some AB’s and confidence.

Gets him as many bats as possible against a RHP before they start throwing lefties at him. Atleast that’s the only thing I can think of for the reason.

Logical, but could probably also accomplish that flipping Carp and Keith.  At least Colt will take a walk.

They probably want Meadows to leadoff..but he needs to deliver on proof of concept.

Have had MLB At Bat several years.  Was $24.99 last year, $59.99 this year.  Told them to pound sand.

Forces a 3rd tto decision for the opposing manager, or at least that is what Hinch said when he started doing it in the Playoffs. I am surprised so many people are shocked by this or don't remember the playoffs.

I need to find the article on BP that talked about the Tigers platooning their defense based on the pitcher's batted ball tendencies. A LH starter seems to make more sense to have a strong left side of the infield, while you can get by with Carpenter in right. I am going to be curious to see how this plays out when they go to the pen.

yeah, I expect a lot of that kind of platooning.  Another thing to watch for is what they do with Valdez on the mound with his extreme ground ball tendencies.  I think this kind of thing can be overdone, but I mostly trust Hinch to have enough knowledge of his players to keep a balance

At 3:10 PM EDT the Padres pregame show has already started but not ours, however, they are the host team so that makes sense. EDIT- I just checked Google AI mode on my phone and it said the Tigers’ pregame show begins at 3:30 PM EDT. I guess we’ll see how accurate this is.
