  1. Dems in disarray as the Tigers hire Lloyd McLendon to manage their Triple A team.

  2. The 1980 game started at 8 and lasted 3:45. I think there was a rain delay which brought it up to 1:00. I liked when the leagues were separate and there was no interleague play. The all-star game and World Series were more fun because it was the only time the leagues would meet. There were always debates about which league was better - not only in talent but style of play. In the 70s, the NL was regarded as being more speedy, athletic and tough. There was no agreement on talent. Whichever league your favorite team was in was the superior league. The NL used to win the all-star game all the time..but not the World Series.

  5. I've told this before but a friend was on vacation in Bermuda once, he and his wife were out for dinner and he got up to use the washroom and noticed that one of the other customers was Rickey Henderson. He was wearing a patterned black and white shirt and ad my friend got closer he could see what the pattern was - a collage of newspaper articles about Rickey Henderson.

  8. The Biden's involvement in China is no secret except you won't find out from his liberal media. In all fairness the right wing media doesn't post the negative articles about their people either. I don't have time to search and post all the links out there. You can do that yourself if you want to know. Or as some say, ignorance is bliss. You can stay uninformed and live in the liberal fantasy world believing Biden isn't as corrupt as any other long time politician, he's working for the American people and he's got all his marbles.

  11. And yet the Trump kids dealings with China (see Ivanka's Chinese licenses for whatever clothing and other lines she had), Russia and other countries where they are still (I assume) trying to do real estate deals (between acting as advisors to their father, even though they could not get security clearance thru proper channels) don't phase you at all. https://www.vox.com/21527215/hunter-biden-jared-ivanka-eric-don-junior

  12. So you do admit Hunter's involved in China. Do you think he does this on his own and doesn't involve his father who has spoon fed him his entire life? Joe is up to his neck in this as much as his boy and other family. Apparently his brother is involved too. Politifact is a left leaning site. There are too many reports on the Biden China connection to ignore. Do I need to put you ignore again?

  13. It would help immensely to know what exactly you're talking about so we can address your specific concern. All you're doing instead is accusing us of slappyism for, I guess, not accepting what you say at face value, when all we're trying to do is figure out exactly what it is you're talking about. The more you refuse to do it, the more it looks like you have no confidence in your own accusation, whatever it may be.

  14. right - and don't underestimate the religious aspect. The American MS media doesn't focus on it because it doesn't resonate with the frequencies of their cultural antennae, but Putin wraps himself in the mantel of the Orthodox church as the defender of all that is holy against the 'corruption' of Western cultural liberalism. There are not a few in the US for whom that resonates as the same cultural warfare in which they see themselves engaged. We also tend to miss that in the US because we are conditioned to think of Soviet "Godless Communism" and Putin as an heir of that because of his KGB background, but the fact is that he positions himself as heir to both the Soviet geographical empire and the Tsarist Orthodox cultural legacy and has largely co-opted today's Russian Orthodox church.

  17. ? Cade is scoring more than Mobley in less minutes, with higher 3% and FT% (85% to 68%), is grabbing 5.5 rebounds (at guard) to Mobley's 8 (at PF), steals + blocks by the two are close but not equal (Mobley advantage)... Mobley also has an advantage in overall scoring efficiency (he should as an interior scorer)... Cade has too many turnovers at the moment but I think he gets that straightened out and... then becomes a floor general that commands the entire offensive attack with his creativity, passing, scoring, etc... Yeah... someone could make an argument for Mobley but... no thanks, it's Cade 1-1 and it's not even close to me. Ford is FOS.

  18. if mobley is on the pistons he has to rely on killian to get him the ball.

  19. Who knows what they will look like in 3 years, but Mobley has much better players around him that allow him to do what he does best. Cade is literally doing everything for this team and the opponents know it. At this point, I'd still have taken Cade #1 overall.

  21. I kind of thought Josh McDaniels alienating his QB and best WR in Denver and reneging on the Colts would rub people the wrong way but apparently not. I would say his downfall in Detroit was an immaturity showed by the team. Those Lions teams always had a knack for personal foul penalties at the most inopportune times.

  22. No way that Barnes would go ahead of Cade given what the league values now. I do think you could make a case for Mobley. I'd probably still take Cade but it's nitpicking either way.

  23. 13 innings, only 2 Ps used for each team. Sure would love to see pitch counts. Morris faced 40, Honeycutt 36. They went though the lineup 4 full times. Completely different game now. Look at the starting time, 8:00pm. Was it the Monday night game of the week? And why was it ended in a tie before midnight? Was there a curfew? Why not pick up the remainder of it the next day? Poor Ricky Peters. He entered the game as a PR and was picked off and that was his contribution.

  24. It seems like they should have done this a long time ago. They did start raising interest rates in 2018, but Trump intimidated them into dropping them again further kicking the can down the road. .

  25. I think that that is true. QE makes more money available for bank loans, but not every individual or corporation wants to borrow more money from a bank. A $1400 payment to an individual will probably churn through the retail economy multiple times.

  30. You provided no counter points or fact to any of what I brought up, didn't bother supporting your point with anything other than your conjecture in the first place, and then brought up another point about Biden and China while offering no facts and again ignoring the provable facts I point out. Keep standing by that conjecture though.

  33. Nothing has happened in the past couple of days to push me off my prediction of a 162-game season starting two weeks late, although Baseball leaked that they would accept canceled games. After having reduced the season to 60 games just two years ago, and considering the negative reaction to the shortening of the 1994 and 1995 seasons, one might expect Baseball to do everything possible to avoid any cancellations. But I do think that one big difference this time around is that a high percentage of new followers of the game are in it for the gambling and not because they love baseball, so they won't mind at all if games are canceled. They'll just go gamble on something else, like basketball or soccer or crypto or NFTs, and simply come back to baseball when games are available to bet on. As for hardcore fans like us, we will come back to the game no matter how long the lockout lasts. So Baseball may be thinking they can weather any blowback that comes primarily from causal fans, many of whom probably spend no money on anything baseball-related at all. If that's true, then is there any real loss?
