  1. LOL - when ever I hear this my mind goes right to the Monty Python "Life of Brian" sketch "What have the Romans done for us?" Let's see, Dems have had to rescue the economy twice after the GOP put it into disaster, provided tens of millions of Americans with health care they lacked, ended participation in one of the endless wars the GOP started, repaired international security arrangements that the GOP was well along the path to shattering, and is the party working against the interests of racist white nationalists. Yeah - I guess all those things are too unAmerican to countenance - that is if you have a Trumper's view of what you want America to be.

  3. Personally, I don’t think you need to know the first thing about firearms to want to keep them from being so freely available that they kill 45,000 Americans every year.

  4. Nothing brings out the "I hate people" vibe in me than airports. I enjoy them to people watch. Everybody in such a hurry to get to the next step to wait. Run to the terminal so you can sit around for 45 minutes. Rush to jump up so you can wait to have your ticket scanned and stand in the corridor which is not temp regulated. Rush to stand up after landing so you can can sit there holding your crap. Run to the shuttle/tram to the luggage even though another one is coming in 3 minutes Run from the shuttle/tram to the luggage area so you can wait for your luggage.... I also say there needs to be two lines. one for people who have their shit together and one for those who don't. Line A is "no questions. Just process. No exceptions or deviations."

  5. because having a deal with Iran is better for the US than not having a deal with Iran. Iran with IAEA inspectors running around is much better than Iran without IAEA inspectors running around. This isn't hard. Nobody's hands are clean in the ME, and that includes the US and Israel. Kacie was just posting about our client SA pretty much practicing terrorism against children in Yemen. Who is fighting *for* those children? Iran. The conflict between Iran and the US is a mile wide and 1/2" deep. We actually even had a chance to patch it up after 9/11 and Shrub botched it, both out of his own ignorance and because Cheney and his oil industry buddies were too much in thrall to the Gulf Sheikhs who made sure any openings to Iran went nowhere.

  6. It's really looking like they are going to ban shifts. That is not something that matters a lot to me, but I think it's lame. That was a smart strategy, not some silly gimmick. There has never been any rule which stated the players had stay in a certain zone. Hitters need to respond by making adjustments. I know someone is going to say that's too hard for them to do, but I don't buy it. They learned how to hit home runs. In time, they can learn how to beat the shift.

  7. Ya I can't see the Rangers doing it even if it makes them better right now. It would be tempting but I would be worried about messing with Raymond. Vrana's speed and shot probably plays anywhere in the top six. He'll probably have some growing pains over a longer stretch of time but he seems like an exciting player if given minutes and an offensive role. I honestly want to see Vrana play with Zadina (I know I know) just because they allegedly play well together in international play. But honestly I'm excited to see Vrana anywhere in the lineup hopefully soon.

  8. Exactly. Someone would be: "Oh, I just have this little thing so I should be allowed to take it and go... the rule is for those people who have big luggage that's hard to get out or that takes up a lot of room so my little bag is no big deal... Let's see... where was it? Ah, here it... oh, someone's suitcase is in the way... who's is this? Could you get this out of the way for me a minute please? Yes, okay... thank you... oh, wait, wrong area, my bag is in here."

  10. A saw a meme where it showed a picture of the Kyiz Convoy and a couple of A-10's with captions like "Oooh, that looks good" and "I'd so hit that." Kind of funny, but it's just a joke. With the full support of the rest of the US forces, yes, the A-10's would have a field day, but especially when you see the Russian issues with logistics, you'd think our leaders wouldn't say such definitive statements understanding that it's not always as simple as seeing tanks and assuming all we have to do is give Ukraine something that attacks tanks.

  11. I believe in the NFL the cap adjusts automatically to maintain a constant % of revenue split. It's the no drama solutions we can only dream the two sides getting to in baseball.

  15. They both need to negotiate, rather than nibbling at the edges of their offers. Nobody is going to force the other side to cave by holding out, that is a loser strategy. Deal with each others issues and negotiate.

  17. haha.. When i was flying a lot (like more than twice a month ) I soon realized that there was a small fraternity of the burned out who I would wait with on the concourse until the last boarding section was called even if our seats were in 1st class.....

  22. right. They do things to take advantage of the situation because they've learned over the years it can be beneficial to do that. The need for a shift wasn't always there. The LH hitters figured out weakness. So defenses attacked as well. It's part of the gamemanship. I'm reading the Ty Cobb book and have learned much of what made him so great early on was doing things that were unconventional that we take for granted today, such as being extra aggressive on the bases today. Players would just casually lob the ball back into the IF and runners would be gentlemen and stay on their bag. Cobb said screw that, I'm going. Other players didn't like that. Even something as changing his stance and grip at the last minute was considered "bush league" at the time. I don't see this as any different.

  26. Last time it snowed hard, I put on a mask as I went out to shovel. Never would have done that before, but over time I got used to it and often found myself in the winter months wearing it as I left a business until I got into my car. I've been maskless for awhile, but my wife's doctor asked us to continue to wear them for now so i'm back at it.

  27. I have no interest in giving aid or working with our enemies especially Iran. Myself and many people in this country believe the greatest threat to the US comes from within by the liberals and Democrat party. The comments posted here at times back that theory up especially on the topic of national security.

  32. Liston decided to go through with the Rule V even though the Rule 5 got cancelled. The popcorn was already a year old and he didn't want to wait another year. So, we had a smaller gathering and without the excitement of the draft to keep us distracted, things got a little out of hand. Liston got Manfred's cell phone number and told Casimir to make a prank call pretending to be Tony Clark. It was all in good fun, but Casimir went a little too far. MLB threatened to sue Liston, but I think he got that straightened out. Nobody is mad at Casimir though. It was his first Rule V party and he wanted to make an impression. You can't really blame him.

  35. Sure, maybe they should be losing to help out draft status. And, yes, last night they didn't have to deal with Myles Turner. But its been so long since they've had a 6-2 run where they've been in all of the games. And they won games on back to back nights without a good bench piece (Frank Jackson) at their disposal.

  36. Pistons win 108-106. Cade with a huge block on a would be lay up at the end. He finishes with 22(9-20) 12 boards and 5 assists. Once/if he ever gets the benefit of the whistle his numbers are going to look alot better. I saw atleast a handful of shots that could've easily been called fouls but weren't.

  37. Right below that is a comment and a link on an 11 year old boy who travelled (his parents had to stay so they sent him on this journey) by himself from Zaporijzhya to Slovakia (over 1,000 kilometers) with a backpack and a contact number written on the back of his hand. Of course he had to have had some help on the way... But can you imagine?
