These people don't give a shit about the United States, the one that embraces the principles laid out in the Consitution. What they care about is "America", the one with the slavery and Indian genocide and the Jim Crow and the McCarthyism and the going on offense into foreign wars and the ubiquitous prisons. That's the America they're trying to preserve with all the might they can muster.

Not to be the spelling police, but it's funny that the people who misspell ridiculous are usually doing so while criticizing someone else's intelligence.

They should randomly pick people from the stands to be the ghost runner and then dress them in the mascot costume of the team that they are running for.

one of the things I'm not proud of as a kid was we'd have fun with another kid who wasn't all there in the head, so to speak. He'd do anything we asked him to. Stand up on his bike while riding.... drink anything we mixed together.... we asked him to climb into the basket on his bike and he did that and crashed.... he had a head injury from falling on his bike. Didn't have a helmet. We were 13-14 years old. How many thousands of other kids had the same thing happen to them because wearing a helmet wasn't normal at the time? Now we have adults making fun of other adults for wearing a helmet. I can't think of anything more childish and immature and it really speaks to someone's character. Here's a guy in his 70's getting some exercise and able to ride a bike and some fat ass clown like Eric Trump mocks him for a helmet and a poster here agrees? Fuck that. You people suck.

The debate over Hamilton reminds me a bit of the debate over Kyle Pitts. It's hard to argue positional value when the guy you're evaluating isn't locked into a traditional position

Sorry, my original comment may have been too general. What I meant is that the fascist movement that is specifically trying to overturn the 2020 election will die with Trump. Other parts of the fascist movement that was Pandora-Box opened by Trump will live on, I agree. Such as the willingness to use violence to try and overturn a future election, to attempt the murder of US politicians, to lie/ cheat/ steal elections in the future by nefarious undemocratic means will still exist, etc... Greenfield Village was doing an old time baseball weekend years ago. My wife & I went to the village and watched part of a game. Ernie Harwell happened to be there commentating on it via loudspeaker, more or less explaining the different rules and conversing with one of the organizers. At the beginning of every at bat, the umpire would direct the hitter "striker, show your preference", and the hitter would indicate for a pitch locale (high or low) within the strike zone.

BTW, the lesson of this. If your kid is in the fine arts in any variety, they had better be able to talk to rich people.

I wear my helmet whenever I go out on my bike. I don't know if I'll encounter a deer that I spook and it knocks me off my bike, or who knows what else. But, I guess, since you clearly have nothing to protect between your ears, you do you. I'll keep wearing my helmet. OK, champ? So, the ghost runner is back this year and it is apparently starting in the 10th inning. No extra inning games for me. Two things I will never stop complaining about: (1) Expanded playoffs (2) ghost runners.

A friend of mine just got a job inspecting the field before the game for hidden cameras and watching games to see any evidence of sign stealing. Sounds like a great job. Watching baseball for a living!

I think this is the first time I've noticed this, but Zadina made an absolutely god awful play that lost the Wings possession in the zone (okay we've seen that before but hold on...) and instead of skating around moping he made a hard play against a player on the boards and won the puck. He was able to make a nice pass to get a re-entry into the zone. It was one of the few times (only times?) that I can remember Zadina initiating physical contact to win a puck so successfully, good to see him do it after flubbing a deke.
