I will because I might be a carrier without knowing it and the 4 year old sitting behind me can't get vaccinated and may be on their way to see Grandma who is immunocompromised. My mask and her mask provide a great form of protection. Her mask and my lack of a mask provides less. I care about other people and will sacrifice a few hours of extremely minor discomfort to do as much as I can to keep people safe. Once again, 2 year into this fucking pandemic and we still have to teach people it's not about you, its about the person next to you.

I think the thing that might be confusing some people here, assuming they honestly believe that Trump is nothing but a benign businessman, is the idea of Trump wanting to overthrow democracy and become more or less a dictator. That can’t possibly be true, they might be reasoning, because Trump is not a politician. He’s a businessman who happens to be practicing politics. He has no real inclination nor acumen to be a political animal in Washington. His motivations are business-oriented, not politically-oriented, so his intentions pure and clean. Therefore, he can’t be trying to overthrow democracy, because that’s a political goal sought only by politicians, not businessmen. The thing is, Trump doesn’t have to be a political animal to want to overthrow democracy. He doesn’t have to have a grounding in political theory, or to talk the talk of the political “swamp”, to seek democracy’s demise. All he needs is the desire to take the decision of who becomes the leader of the USA out of the hands of the voters and into his own. That’s what Trump has be wanting to happen, and what he has been clearing the way for his minions at various levels to accomplish on his behalf. I would agree that Trump is not interested in the political theory behind any of it. To him, it’s all business. As far as he’s concerned, government’s only goal is to strip him of as much of his power to conduct business in whatever manner he sees fit as they can manage to; therefore, Trump’s opposing goal is to basically change the very structure of government by getting rid of the one that’s out to get him, and replacing it with a government cast in his own image, one that gets out of his own business’s way, and bonus, one he can also use as a tool to personally punish his enemies. Trump doesn’t have to be considered a Washington politician to seek all this and then act on it. All he needs is a cabal of enablers to make it all happen, and for the good people who oppose him, and who trust the system itself to automatically stop him, to stand aside and let him get away with it.

My company does the discussions for diversity and inclusion and usually it's for minorities, women, LGBTQ, etc. Well, apparently they are having one for the white male experience. Guessing some insecure white men complained. I signed up because this is probably going to be good. I'm going to secretly record it on my phone. I'm not saying he's NFL caliber, but he good enough for the USFL I thought.

A vaccinated 4 year old can still get and transmit Covid. Heck any vaccinated adult can get and transmit Covid. This will never end for you because you’ve fully bought in. I’m not saying that to be insulting. I’m saying that because you’ve already set yourself up with an untrainable expectation which, if the vaccination is available for all, will you really then say “ok I’m done” or will it be 100% vaccinated at that point? For me it will be when vaccines are available to everyone. Contrary to popular belief we haven't gotten there yet. On an airplane I would because there's probably going to be kids around on the plane and it's an easy thing to do to sit there with a mask on. It's cost free. If I can potentially help someone at no cost to myself why not do it? I don't wear them to baseball games. I don't wear them to hockey or basketball games because. I wear them to grocery stores because the one I go to is kind of small and can be crowded and it's as much to do with flu as covid. I'm going to keep doing that. I don't wear them at the gym. That's a risk I've chosen to take. Others take it too. If I were ever to be asked to wear one I'd gladly do it. I'll never understand the resistance.

Honest question: how high does the vaccination/immunity rate have to be in order for you to change your thinking on this? Right now we are sitting around the 66% rate for full vaccination nationwide. Add a few additional points to that for unvaccinated people who have had and recovered from COVID, and in my view, that's high enough for me. Of course, I don't have children under 5, or otherwise vulnerable people in my everyday life that I have to be very careful around, so that's another data point for my feeling that we're far enough along to allow me, specifically, to forsake masking in all but the most necessary places (e.g., healthcare facilities). I can see where someone might believe this to be not high enough to go back to living as we did in the beforetimes, but my question is, how high would it have to be before you conclude, OK, we're far enough along with vaccination/immunity, time for that small minority who have to deal with unfortunate issues to take their own precautions to protect themselves in public, instead of mandating the vast majority who are themselves in the clear from hospitalization or death from COVID to take precautions to protect them? I believe we as a society have accepted the idea that we will always have COVID with us, so even in a hypothetical 99% immunity environment, there is still always going to be the possibility of encountering the 4-year-old sitting behind you who can't get vaccinated and may be on their way to see Grandma who is immuno-compromised. Do you still wear the mask in that 99%-immunity situation? Because if that's true, you've basically decided you'll be wearing the mask in public for literally the rest of your life. I'm not trying to be argumentative about this—I'm trying to understand if you have such a line, and if so, where that line is?

I have a standing order every 6 weeks or so for a cut with a #2 blade. No desire to shave my head completely (serious receding hairline). I'll pay the extra rather than do it myself or try to convince my wife along with the cleanup.

I may have gotten it in January when everybody was getting the Omicron strain. A couple of family members (who I didn't have a lot of contact with) tested positive and I got a cold. I thought it was better just to stay home rather than run around trying to get a test.

If worn correctly, a cloth mask is mildly effective but let's be real here for just a second: how many people on a plance are wearing them correctly? Optimistically three. Pragmatically none. They're off for meals and drinking. They're constantly being adjusted which will cause the hands (the germ petri dish) to constantly be near the eyes. It's silly and a charade on planes at this point, which, btw, have the best filtration system currently available. Again, you are always welcome to wear yours. No one is stopping you just like no one is stopping you from driving to your destination instead either.

I think it's pretty obvious that Trump knew what was going to happen on January 6 and that he encouraged it. I don't know if that's enough legally or whether they can sufficiently prove it, but it's enough for me. It's even more obvious that he tried to overturn the election. He said he was going to do it and he broadcasted it as he did it. He is 100% guilty.

I disagree with the argument that Trump doesn't want to end the American Republican. Trump literally wanted to install himself as a autocratic dictator and that's what January 6th was all about. At best he wants rigged, unfair elections like his boy Viktor Orban has in Hungary with a state-controlled media apparatus backing him up. At worst he wants what Putin has in Russia and Alexander Lukashenko has in Belearus. January 6th was an orchestrated attacked on the rule of law, democratic institutions, and free, fair elections. Trump wanted the legal counting of electoral votes stopped. He wanted his people to seize voting machines. He wanted a Secretary of State in Georgia to change over 11,000 votes to declare him the winner of a state he lost. He wanted votes overturned in Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin as well. That is autocratic by its very nature and spits in the face of democracy and our American Republic.

This is an interesting article. I do agree that Bridges is not a great fit with Grant and possibly even without Grant if we are in position to take a guy Holmgren, Murray, Smith, or Banchero. I also definitely agree with Casey that Bey is a better fit at either forward position than shooting guard. I am not a huge fan of signing Brunson. He is a quality player but fit is everything to the Pistons right now. The goal is not to just pickup quality players to be a playoff team. It's to build around a Cade, and to a lesser extent Bey and Stewart, to be a championship team. Brunson is best with the ball in his hands and does not have great size or athleticism for defense. I kind of want somebody next to Cade who can be elite on defense while also play well off the ball. So while I am not really a huge fan of Ivey as a prospect, he does kind of fit the bill for what I want next to Cade.

Trump didn't do anything good and even if you think he did, it all gets cancelled out by the unforgivable stuff he did at the end. There is no way you can just overlook what he did at the end and pretend that he was a good president. You just can't. And even if you hate liberals so much that you are OK with him trying to overturn an election, how can you possibly defend his throwing his way too loyal Vice President under the bus at the end? He's just an utter disgrace and deserves every bit of vitriol coming his way. And I do consider you a Trump supporter because you keep defending him over and olver.
