4. I would guess not much if Mize or Manning is out very long. Faedo's 26, he's over 500IP NCAA + MiLB. If he does continue to handle AAA hitters, there doesn't seem much of anything to gain for him at AAA.

 6. The MLB expands and the Tigers draw the short straw(again). You have a choice, as a Detroit fan, from two four team divisions: Guardians, Yankees, Red Sox OR Orioles, Blue Jays, Rays (significantly weakened) Which would you pick?

 7. Well, what can I say? This is what you get when you put all your rebuilding eggs in the pitching basket. A lot of us on the old board were saying for years that they're doing it completely backwards, and now we see why, firsthand. Especially considering two of those precious eggs are broken with no timetable for return. Let's face it: by the time they got around to selecting TORK! and Riley, this die was cast. This is the kid of situation in which managers earn their keep.

 10. I don't want to be this cynical. This start to the season is bringing it out of me. I half expect the first game of this series was thrown to save Haase's kid's lives.

 11. They could be calling guys and giving them a shot. There is no reason at all not to give Clemens, who is playing well, a shot. They just won't do it. Cameron gains nothing playing at Toledo, he probably catches the ball Haase missed and the ball Willi missed.

 12. Hinch has not had a good start. But this is entirely about Avila's failure to develop everyday players outside of the tanking draft picks. They don't have any guys to fill in gaps when injuries come up. They revamped the entire development staff only last year and Avila's role is more ceremonial right now. Things have to be happening behind the scenes when you are tanking so you are ready to succeed when all the kids are ready. They did nothing. We are still playing the Castros, Vic Reyes, etc.

 14. I think Marketplace is even worse, it's rough selling stuff there. I'm always like, oh sweet someone wants to buy my stuff, and then it's usually a trade offer for something like a 4x12 which I'm trying to downsize from a princeton reverb over here lol. I get a lot of people that think that b/c I'm selling something I want to sell it for super cheap.

 18. Sam Vecenie had an article on The Athletic today about redrafting last years draft. He said he is going strictly off of looking term potential and not this years play. He still would take Cade #1 and he said this about him:
Cunningham would not be my Rookie of the Year pick, given the yearlong consistency of how good the following two guys on this list were. But I’m still rocking with him, long-term, as the guy to bet on in this class, and his close to the season is the biggest reason why. I thought Cunningham’s close for the Pistons was a better stretch than any other rookie this season. In his final 21 games, Cunningham averaged 21 points, 5.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the field. The 3-point shot didn’t fall at the level expected, but I’m not all that worried long-term. He suffered an ankle injury entering the season, and those can be extremely difficult to come back from. He has a smooth release with good footwork that should translate to him being an effective pull-up shooter. He makes effective reads out of ball screens and consistently keeps the ball moving offensively. He’s unselfish. His assists don’t come as a function of him dribbling the ball into the ground but rather from decisions that keep the ball moving around the perimeter or off drive-and-kicks. On top of the offense, he was an effective, switchable defender, which should translate toward him being a plus defender in big moments. Everything about Cunningham’s game translates toward effectiveness in the playoffs, as soon as the shot translates. I think he’s the guy I most buy turning into a top-10 player in the league at some point.
21. Before the Ohio State game, KT was universally crowned as the best edge rusher in the class. Since then, his drop in perception - however small it may be - seems to have come from rumors and speculation rather than performance. It’s not as if he’s been injured or if some bombshell exploit has come out. It’s been behind the scenes people throwing it at the wall about him not loving football. And if that’s evaluated to be nonsense, I see no reason to not continue to value him above Hutch. Realistically, I don’t think there is a “wrong” answer in any of Walker, Hutch, and Thibs.

 24. he'll have to be quick though. An extended period of firings will paralyze an organization (I remember I had friends at Ford when management at went to a forced termination system meant to remove low performers, it put the company into a productivity stasis and forced WCJ jr to step in and fire the CEO that had put it in place..)

 29. Whose your "if the Lions draft this guy in the first or second round" I will be upset and/or disappointed? For me it's Kyle Hamilton. While I won't get mad about it because I still trust Brad Holmes and I'm tired of being an angry, negative fan all the time, Hamilton would be pretty deflating. Knowing they could have taken one of Hutch/Thibs/Walker and they took a slower-than-average Safety instead would really throw cold water on my enjoyment of the draft.

 33. My favorite Brian Dubois moment was when Sparky Anderson came out to the mound to take him out of the game in his first start. Anderson extended his arm to take the ball before saying anything like he always did. Dubois thought he was offering a handshake, so he shook his hand. Catcher Mike Heath started laughing.
