Uvalde is a town of 15,000... not a large place, quite small actually. It's not Houston or Dallas... If the answer here is for every school in towns even as small as Uvalde need armed guards and metal detectors to guard against these events, we are failing as a country. That is failure.5 points

Armed guards aren’t the answer. As a society, we need to value an individual’s right not to get shot more than we do their right to own a gun. That is the only answer.3 points

actually a top defensive SS who averages 1/4 with a little power is generally worth quite a bit - about $170M in today's market.3 points

Well, to be fair to be Republicans, they have basically told us over and over that they were going to use fraud in upcoming elections.2 points

Honestly, I never understood the comparison between Miggy and Garcia. I'm honestly surprised that Garcia has been as productive as he has in his career. I thought he would be out of baseball altogether by now. He always seemed like a Brennan Boesch type of guy to me.1 point

Your name is Neifi, isn't it? OK, so whenever I refer to you specifically, it will be as "Used Up By Neifi".1 point

We were fortunate. We're on the south end of town & our subdivision never lost power. It has been nice to see the way people have come together. It is possible if you leave your agenda outside.1 point

Does it have to be a former Cub, or can it be any weak hitting outfielder? Or does it have to be a former team that Grossman played for, like an ex-Twin or ex-Athletic? Let me just throw out Jacque Jones to cover all my bases.1 point

last night was a normal loss....close game and the Twins got the late run. On the spectrum of terrible games this season, this one is on the lower end.1 point

Just to add to the choice of reliever discussion, I would go with the best available RP. It doesn't matter if its the closer, the stopper, playing match ups, whatever. I don't think the Tigers have any RP worthy of designating a closer/stopper right now. Chafin is probably as good of a choice as any. I know some folks would argue to hold the closer (which the Tigers may have in name, but he's hardly shut down) until the Tigers (as the road team) get the lead when the game gets into the 9th or later. I have no problem bringing that best pitcher into a tie game in order to get to the next inning.1 point

I am not impressed by correct predictiions unless the reasoning for the prediction was sound. Otherwise, it ws just luck. I am more impressed by someone who makes an incorrect predict based on solid reasoning. There was one guy in this forum several years ago who made a random prediction about a Tiger getting traded and everybody made fun of him because it seemed unlikely. It turned that player was traded the next day. It was pretty hilarious and this poster became a legend for the next few months. then he started making dumb predictions about everything and was always wrong and he became annoying.1 point

El Rod kinda impressed me today... The grand slam was the kinda thing that could have knocked out a young starter and yet he stayed in and pitched reasonably well for the following four innings. May have earned another start by default lol1 point

Ways C-Mo refers to “MPH”: -“Mile Power” (35% of the time) -“Miles Power” (35%) -“Mile Per Hour” (25%) -“Miles Per Hour” (5%) (excitement level of 💯 nearly every time)1 point

And Willi with two wrong moves ONE PLAY! If there were such a thing as real scoring in today's game, Willi's fielding percentage would be about 60%1 point

I can't remember which game it was this season - I want to say it was in LA, or our first series in Minnesota - Meadows was tracking a ball backwards, misjudged where the wall was, and smashed into the right field fence netting to make the catch at a pretty high velocity. Put his hands on his knees after the play for a minute and was clearly shaken up. I can't help but suspect that this has something to do with it.1 point

That’s not even slightly crazy. It’s the normal cycle of being a Lions fan. Start off with high expectations thinking this will be the year and come December shake by your head saying Same Old Lions!1 point
